This is an award I've had trouble beginning to wrap my hands around, I've been trying to put to words and totality everything we should be awarding Nikora (known by most as Tarvitz) for since I came back around Odan-Urr last year and I think I've finally gotten to a point where I can describe his list of the accomplishments, achievements, and developments for COU. Before I delve into these, I want to address just how much of a beneficial figure Tarvitz has been during my tenure, how much he has shaped the landscape of adjustments within Odan-Urr, and how much their input has been valued, from helping educate and track down specific instances of events, tracking items belonging to the Clan, understanding systems both new and old, and comprehending the political climate, both the fictional and actual of The Brotherhood old and new, even when there have been differences in perception. Where others have helped me piece together the day-to-day, Tarvitz's work has given me a comprehensive and functional understanding of the backbone of the history I lost during my years of absence from the community, the lost stories, the narratives, and the struggles the Clan has gone through during different periods.
This work doesn't just extend to me, however, they're one of the most prodigious wiki editors, with many Wikipedian of the Month awards under their belt, many of which come from updates to Odan-Urr articles, ranging from the simple errant grammar, historical checks, and faction clean-ups, to the creation of entire factions of ours including the Templar Jensaarai I mentioned in their last recommendation, a faction which serves as one of our very own Battle Teams now. And while real-world limitations and concerns may often limit their time, they've continued to divert and spend much of the time they do have on Brotherhood concerns, helping our newer members understand the comprehensive lore of Clan Odan-Urr where possible, without a complaint.
His continuous and concentrated efforts to teach and assist our newer members in understanding our history made him a prime candidate to replace the leadership of our now-defunct Proving Grounds Battle Team, to help integrate and teach our newest members while helping drive their initial engagement, knowing his current limits he gracefully turned down the position but offered to still assist in the endeavors where he was capable, and he has done so, frequently and gracefully, over the last several months.
Beyond just helping our newer members (and the Consul) Tarvitz has made himself the Odanite project coordinator, often jumping in to help anyone and everyone who has an idea, concept, or wiki page they need help developing, several times offering to take on the task so the Summit who had offered to help can focus on the larger projects we were currently committed to, others just to give himself something to do and help the community. His latest example of such work was helping design The Fang venue for the Antei Combat Center.
In all honestly, I feel up to this point I have failed to reward Tarvitz adequately for the amount of work he has put in for the amount of hats he has worn for us just in this last year. Wikipedian, teacher, historian, project coordinator, and designer, these would be the five I most frequently associate him with.
On top of this, he has continued to be an active member of the community, competing and placing in many competitions and driving other members of Odan-Urr to challenge him as he does so. Oftentimes directing his challenge when participation in a particular challenge is low with a kind of 'Rolling up my sleeves' mentality which challenges the others to dare and beat him, since he's going to have to do it and obviously no one can be better than him, often bringing more to the table to compete with him.
Ever onward, Tarvitz, no matter the challenge.
