Hilgrif looked at the piles of junk in dismay as he was on top of his new workplace beside a holoprojector. He still could not come to terms with it all. He had been one of the top techies in the Viridi squad that was a part of the Parva force. Then on that dreadful day one of the ships he worked on crashed into the government buildings due to a problem with some wiring. Hilgrif was sure he double checked his work to see that it was good. But the rest of his hive did not see that, and so was shunned henceforth an outcast from his home. Removed from his hive, his very and at that time his only way of life, exiled to the junk fields “to keep watch on them.” He knew better to think that they only wanted him to disappear without getting their hands dirty, but before he was forced to leave he sliced into the shipyard’s cameras and, to his shock, found that some data was covered up. Hilgrf looked at the holeprojecter beside him and saw his own squad, members of the same hive, messing with the ship’s wiring. Hilgrif then stared back at the junk piles lost in his thought. He could bring this all to light but they would just say he forged the data if they believed him then he would lose his squad and no one would trust him again in the hive. If they did not they might decide he was too much of a risk and just kill him there.

Hilgrif was at a lost but he did know one thing he had no hive left to go to. Hilgrif shook his head and decided he just need to get busy and give his brain a rest from all this debating. Hilgrif looked at the closest junk pile and saw a few piece of a EV Supervisor Droid. He decide he would fix this droid so he had someone to talk to. After a day of looking hilgrif took the random parts he found to the workshop beside his new work place . He spent a few hours but after that he had the droid ready to run. Hilgrif gave it the boot up command and hoped who ever had it last did not do any recent wipes on it. The droid after a few minutes turned on and ook pause for another minute, most likely to run a self diagnostics then he look at Hilgrif and said in a monotone voice

“Hello Sir. Thank you for the repairs may I know your name and the job you need me to get done.”

Hilgrif looked at the droid then spoke “My name is Hilgrif and your job I do not know I built you because I have lost all I knew “

The droid replied “Sir Hilgrif what did you lose? Maybe I could give you some suggestions on how to get it back”

Hilgrif pause for a brief time then spoke “I lost my hive. It’s all I have ever know.”

The droid paused then spoke. “Why not join or build a new hive?”

Hilgrif froze, never thinking of that, then did some thinking.

There was no other hive on this moon or nearby to build anew. He could not and would not build it with untrustworthy people but with droids. Hilgrif then spoke in a more steady voice.“I agree to building a new hive. I would like to congratulate you on be the first member of this hive. You shall be my 2nd in command.“

The droid spoke “It shall be done sir and thank you for the honor.” Hilgrif paused for a sec then said “Your name shall now be know as Shroud as you shall cover this new hive under your oversite.”

stars to the planet
some of us came for the past
some came to mine it

locals were angry
from the droids of the past times
to pirates who stayed

the star ships landed
we prepared for them to come
battle was to come

they sent their war droids
the pirates joined them for war
in the end all felled

some fell by blaster
some by light saber and force
the locals all fell

some by Plagueis
the rest by Naga Sadow
from the brotherhood

Hilgrif odd mission

Hilgrif reread his orders on the small ship holopad. He was to take out a small pirate scout camp with the equipment provided, and he also had to leave all his equipment on the ship, as instructed in the orders. He was informed he would be picked up in a few hours.

Hilgrif watched the small four-person ship as it departed, then turned his gaze to the old, grey box of supplies. Hilgrif was shocked to see what was in the old box. He mostly saw all junk. The only good thing in the box was a new, still-loaded B2-HA arm and ration bars of jogan flavor. Hilgrif hoped he would not need the ration bars on this trip. Hilgrif just left all the other junk - including a non-functional lightsaber hilt, a plush porg, a glow rod, a glitchy holoprojector that looked to be loaded with questionable images, and five meters of power cable - in the box. Taking the the arm out of the box, Hilgrif did a quick retrofit to make it shoot its rockets without the rest of the droid. It had lost its lock on feature, but could still shoot in a somewhat straight line. Hilgrif then took the improvised rocket launcher and the rations and headed to the pirate camp.

As the small camp came into the view of the Dark Jedi Knight, it looked as though it had three people in camp. Two were sitting around the camp stove, and the other was doing some scrapping on some droid parts. Hilgrif did a quick scan of the camp to see if anything looked explosive and saw an ammo storage location near the pirate scrapping the droid. He shot the rocket at it and used the Force to guide the rocket into the target. Hilgrif watched to see if anyone was still alive. Seeing no movement, he reached out with the Force to see if he could sense any life. Sensing nothing, Hilgrif walked into the camp and began looking for anything that might still be of use.

Hilgrif found a few holo devices and a complete set of parts to make a B2 super droid. Hilgrif decided he would build and convert this B2 super battle droid to the Hive. He found a slightly damaged hoversled and fixed it with some other parts he found in the now destroyed camp. Hilgrif then loaded the sled with droid parts and the holo devices and went back to the ship pick-up location. While waiting there for the ship, he used his Force sense to keep a lookout.

After the ship landed, Hilgrif picked up a com device and contacted the Hive.

“Find out who gave me this stupid mission and beware any mission from this person, as he seems to risk our lives for his entertainment,” Hilgrif said in slightly angry voice. Then, in a more peaceful tone, added, “Also - prepare my workshop. I found a new member of the hive.”

He then sat down and waited for the ship to leave.

The ground shook under Hilgrif who was in a storage room in the middle of working on extracting the memory of a broken B2 Battle droid . He quickly used his comlink.

“Shroud what’s going on?” the reply came quickly

“Sir I am detecting the base becoming active i wou.. Sug…. ….ing ..t of th... ”

static replaced the voice of Shroud. Hilgrif tried his com again

“Shroud reapet last message “ the reply came back very garbled in static.

“.ir . a. ...tect… .he .ase ..com… acti.. I ……” Hilgrif shook his head. He knew the base’s defense must have become active again and double checked to see if his ion blaster pistol was ready when he received a message from the command line

“A.. t..ms, ..port .n. ...t’s g...g o. .n t...e”

The message was still full of static. Hilgrif checked the room to make sure there was nothing that seem to dangers active in the room. Hilgrif soon after seeing the storage room was still safe, did a quick job on removing the memory of the B2 battle droid then went to the storage room door. He reached out with the Force to see the other side of the door only to be met with nothing. As he moved through the doorway, the Knight kept his ion blaster pistol ready to shoot on anything that moved. Hilgrif carefully walked past the other doors through the hallway then at the end of the hallway. His eyes laid upon a door that lead into the great hall that was near the exit. Hilgrif use the Force through the door and felt what look like the remains of a battle hilgrif and felt a few people. Their presence in the Force gave the Verpine the impression that they were the people he had requested from Plagues and Naga Sadow. Hilgrif tried the comlink so they would not shoot when the door open but the comlink was still full of static Hilgrif then thought for a sec then recall who he felt with the force use telepathy to contact one of the plaques that he had worked with a short time ago “Khryso Mallus do not fight my telepathic message. I will be coming in the room from the 3rd door on the right side please inform our fellow members to not shoot me.“ Hilgrif then hoped the chiss spread the message then open the door. No one shoot at hilgrif as he walk out Hilgrif saw the remains of many battle droids. He then gave a quick greeting to Kyryso Mallus and the other allies then went to the exit of the great hall so he could leave the dark sith temple with the droids memory in his bag.

Hilgrif then reach for his com “Shroud prepare the ship when i get there i would like to head back to my workshop to work on these memory chips also send in a salvage team to collect some droids for the hive and the clan”
