Of all the things I get to write, promotion recommendations are among the best. And when they're for milestone ranks? Man, this always gets me a bit weepy. I remember all the times Kav has come to me asking for advice about how things are done or how to implement a new idea or even just wanting to see how the days have been going. She has become more than just a member, she's become a friend. And isn't that what we're all here for? A shared love in a shared space to find friends we might not have otherwise? I normally get to be the to wax poetic about how much a member has done and in this case, it's very much a privilege. Since the last time we were here, Kav has done outstanding amounts of work for the Herald's office and provided many people with truly wondrous works of art. Kav organized 30 comps for her people, participated in another hundred on her own, wrote about 20,000 words of fiction, earned 500k credits for her clan and a truly staggering number of competition awards and merit awards, including an Amethyst Kukri and a Sapphire Blade. Often found randomly performing in RPs as a shapeshifting bard, hanging around the channels ready to chat with everyone, or even running for her life in Dead by Daylight. This is a member who has spent a lot of time going out of her way to make life more enjoyable for everyone around her. In addition to that, Kav participated in 61 competitions, of which she gained Crescents of many flavors (2 Diamond, 5 Amethyst, 1 Sapphire, 6 Emerald, 2 Topaz, 3 Quartz). She also gained 594 Clusters of Fire, 21 Clusters of Ice and 14 Clusters of Graphite. An impressive 5 Society ranks (3 GMRG, 1 INQ and 1 Shroud) and gained the Clan 300,000 credits. Unexpected because, unlike in the past, this is the first time I have had the pleasure of hiring someone who knows A LOT more about art theory than I do. I was humbled by her generosity in sharing her knowledge with me and her willingness to accept both critiques and new skills from me, at least when DB art is concerned. I could not be happier with her progress in the staff, and her work so far.
