The general rule of thumb for a promotion to Dark Adept is that the member is to have shown significant and consistent activity outside their house. Timeros, without a doubt, epitomises this kind of dedication.
I will begin with the Arconan side of the story. Timeros has been absolutely vital to Arcona. His history within the Clan speaks for itself: A member of the Arconae, an ex-Consul, a veritable bastion of activity and a constant within the Summit. His roles within the Clan have been ever-expanding and his dedication is second to none. He consistently pushes the boundaries, driving the Summit and taking it upon himself to push the membership into activity. He was one of the reasons that Arcona was reclanned. His work not only pushing members and bringing them back to life, but on editing and contributing to draft after draft of the document with only Arcona's re-clanning in mind. His spirit, his passion, derives from the Clan's success. His work within the Summit, listening for hours to peoples problems, dropping things at the slightest sign of trouble. He has been a true hero of Arcona. One of the greats. I'm sure I speak for the entire Summit, whether old or new, when I say that Timeros has helped me to no end in my position. Without his guidance, I would definitely not be where I am today.
Perhaps his shining moments have been in the Great Jedi Wars. I have heard of his feats within the Ninth, however, I was not here to witness it. With the Tenth, on the other hand, I can paint a much more vivid picture. He was on every night. Whether IRC, GChat, even G+, pushing and helping the members of Arcona to be the best they possibly could. He drew up a number of tables, and calculations to tell us what we had to do to succeed, where we were falling behind and, most importantly, where we were hitting our targets. Whilst I was shouting and screaming, being the visible leader I am expected to be, Timeros was working furiously in the background, speaking with the members and the Summit, working out calculations and creating some fine and intricate work. I think that tells the story of Timeros in a nut-shell; he has forever been one of the people who live in the shadows, one of those who are perhaps not noticed while they are there, but they are more than missed when they are not. He was one of the main characters in our ACC effort, and the fact that he managed all this whilst juggling exams at University is beyond me.
In short, He has been a godsend. His constant presence, his developments with the Summit and his ability to somehow enable more fluid leadership is a testament to his ability with people. He holds a great weight within the clan, and he is always helping the membership at large, whatever their questions may be. In my time working with him, as Aedile of House Arcona, Proconsul of Clan Arcona, and now Consul of Clan Arcona, he has really pushed the boundaries with his work as a Rollmaster. In another other situation, Rollmaster is a position many cast aside as redundant, and it remains fundamentally ignored. However, Tim has not only developed a masters' diary (with some stupefying coding) and distributed out around the Clan, but he is also developing it into an executable (.exe) file for distribution around the Brotherhood, with the help of Celahir. This is absolutely key to his position within the Brotherhood. Everything he does is for the Brotherhood at large. He may act as a product of Arcona, but his heart is in the right place. As mentioned previously, everything he does, he does in the background. All without want for reward or recognition. Everything that he does, he does for the benefit of the Brotherhood first, and Arcona second. I think this is key in understanding Timeros as a person. We may be his friends and he may be an Arconan through and through, but his genuine belief in this club is something most of us can only behold in admiration. It is this that puts him in line with the position of Adept; his unfaltering work with the Brotherhood to make it a better place, a more enjoyable place for people to be. It is Tim's avid wish that he is able to share this diary, even in its remote form, around the brotherhood for use with other members. I can say, with absolutely certainty, that he has unequivocally changed the position of Rollmaster for the Brotherhood. Similarly, he and James are currently working on a project to embed a masters' form into the Brotherhood site, which generates the promotion request and automatically submits said request to the MAA office. You will have seen the edits James has made to the site with regard to such changes, and this has been achieved in great part due to Timeros' input, as well as that of James. Although currently in the development stage, it speaks volumes about his dedication to the Brotherhood at large.
Let us not forget that Timeros is Arcona's emissary for the clan. He is our ambassador. He is constantly talking with the other houses and clans and maintaining relationships throughout the Brotherhood. I've seen him take on countless tasks, such as helping Kaira to qualify for the ACC when everyone else had given hope. He often helps other members with their own personal lives, who are often outside of Arcona. He is always striving to teach the Brotherhood what he knows, whether developing skills with English, or even going as far as helping other members with coding or homework (I even remember him doing so when I was a lowly member of Plagueis). Suffice it to say that his heart and soul are in this club. And we all love him for it.
What is more, we cannot recommend Timeros for promotion to Dark Adept without addressing his work as Combat Master. He has been a great boon to the Brotherhood at large with his activities within the ACC. I recall the day he received CM. He turned to us in the Arcona Summit channel and said something along the lines of: "Well there's a @%$& tonne of work to do here...", but by god did he put that work in. This was his second term as Combat Master, the first being in that of the Krath Combat Centre. Both times he has pushed the boundaries of what he can achieve in that particular field. He is a pioneer. An entrepreneur of the Brotherhood, whose only wish is to help those around him.
I hope I have come some way in helping the powers that be believe that Timeros is ready for this promotion. All I can say is that I wholeheartedly believe this promotion is overdue. And I believe, without Timeros, the Brotherhood would be much, much worse off.
Congratulations Timmy. We love you.
~Wuntila Entar Arconae,
Consul of Clan Arcona.
It is abundantly clear that Timeros is an invaluable part of Arcona, and is one of the reasons why they were re-Clanned as well as why they continue to succeed. However, becoming an Elder means more than just helping your own unit, no matter how much effort you may have put into it. Becoming an Elder means taking that effort and transferring it to the benefit of the whole Brotherhood. Timeros has clearly made that switch. His time in the ACC, both as a staff member as well as Combat Master, greatly energized the platform and brought great new ideas that helped rekindle interest. There was a massive upswing in activity as his ideas were implemented, and he continues to try and improve that platform when he can. He has also begun to truly help redefine the roll of Rollmaster as the Master/Student relationships DB-wide. He poked and prodded to get a new function added to the website that will improve how the Master/Student roles work in the DB a hundredfold. That is not the only thing he is working on in improving the whole MS situation in the DB. I believe these last few years has shown another side of Timeros, who has strived to make the club a better place for all involved, on top of continuing to ensure that his Clan stays dominant. Congratulations and welcome, Adept Timeros.

Deputy Grand Master
Timeros has, since my first day in Arcona, always been a symbol of what it is to be a legend in the Brotherhood. Not just as a member of the Arconae, but as a mentor and a friend. Tim took it upon himself to teach me the in's and out's of the ACC. Learning from someone with his experiecne was invaluable to my development and part of the reason I was able to place in the top 10 ACC for the War. He was alaways there to help me, and guide me, and is still to this day someone I strive to be.
Being the face of Arcona and one of it's biggest patriots, I think people forget how much Tim's actually done for the brotherhood as a whole. As Combat Master, he put in multiple new systems to make sure that the quality of writers is up to date and worked with anyone in terms of explaining or understanding the system. He worked towards making the ACC fun, and made it relevent outside of Fueds or Vendetta's. Having went through a slew of not so active Combat Masters before him, it was turly amazing watching him jump right in and almost single handedly reviving the ACC with fun competitions and the like.
He also set up an automated system for welcoming new members that should be adapted DB wise. On top of his CM duties, he still made time to greet every member, make sure they where given a master, and still serve as an active member of the Clan Summit.
Timeros is one of the longest serving members in the Brotherhood. He is nothing short of a legend, and deserves to be welcomed among the rank of the Elders.
-Marick Del'Abbot,
Proconsul of Clan Arcona.
The most difficult thing about writing this recommendation has been finding the words. The problem isn't the sheer volume of work Tim has done in the nearly two years since his last promotion. The problem is that a simple list of his multitude of accomplishments falls far short of the reality.
There is an understated competenance to everything Timeros does. I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that anything Tim says he will do is as good as complete. As important as that, though, is the fact that he brings out that same quality in others. If a member is struggling with anything, even if it isn't their forte, Tim can spend a half hour talking to them and suddenly they are tackling the task with a renewed vigor and self-assuredness that allows them to succeed beyond all expectations. His style of leadership isn't flashy, it isn't loud, and it doesn't make itself readily known to the casual observer. But he is, doubtlessly, one of the best leaders Arcona has seen in quite some time.
He leads, not by issuing orders or even by doing all of the work himself, but by training others in how to get the job done. From his work as Combat Master, and the endless hours of coaching he has invested in new members, to his time as Arcona's Rollmaster and his tireless work with Journeymen as they struggle towards Dark Jedi Knight, he is as responsible as anyone - more so than most - for the atmosphere of welcome and openness that so pervades both the ACC and Arcona. If this isn't the work of an Elder of the Brotherhood, I don't know what is.
I have no doubt that without his ingenuity, his hard work, and his impeccable guidance, Arcona - and the Brotherhood as a whole - would be a far less vibrant place.

Timeros is the most deserving person I know to get Dark Side Adept and join the Elder ranks. Having worked under him in the ACC, he strived to increase the activity throughout the Brotherhood. He worked beyond his call with the establishment of the matchmaker to try and open people's experience of fighting, he sought to ensure that anyone from any Clan could approach him about any problems or queries, and he worked tirelessly to make sure that both participants and staff were adequately rewarded for their work. He put in all effort beyond doubt when it came to training new ACC staff, adding a personal touch to going through the judgements with individuals and always giving them the time to make sure they were confident with what they were doing.
His Ruby Sceptre proves that his earlier work as CM did not go unnoticed, and he continued after receiving this, making sure that we had more than a basic working team in the ACC. He established our current administration for all the ACC battles, so that we can continue to give everyone a fair chance with such quick turn arounds, and continues to keep fixing it every time I break it.
He is widely viewed as one of the best in the ACC, both as a participant and as a member of Staff. He is continually impartial when it comes to judgements and will not hesitate to give his opinion when any of the Staff ask for it on clarification. Even though he is no longer Combat Master, he continues to provide the support to the staff when he can, something we all value very highly given his experience. This is one promotion that has been long deserved, and I cannot thank you enough Tim for taking the time to train me so I can get back to doing what I enjoy.

Now where on Earth do I start when I want to talk about Timeros? I guess well start with how, when people think of Arcona, Timeros often comes to mind. The guy is a powerhouse and has been a constant fixture on the summit in one form or another; either as Clan Rollmaster, or as an Arconae, in the figurative shadows, advising current summit members.
Despite RL issues occurring during the 10th GJW, Tim took time out of his busy schedule to completely dominate the ACC event and encouraged the other Arconans participating; which led to Arcona pushing the other units out completely. Now I could talk for hours about all the stuff Timeros has done within Arcona, but to reach the ranks of the Elders, one must do stuff outside of the Clan. Timmy has done that on countless occasions, but in his most recent outing, he was Combat Master, completely overhauling the tired ACC; injecting life into it with ladders and the random match ups.
A massive amount of interest in the ACC was generated from this, which led to countless matches and increasing activity within the DB. The ladders (2v1, Journeymen, Equites/Elders) were well organised and promptly judged, which leads me onto the next point. Without Tims input in the ACC, we wouldnt have the stellar team that we have today, he trained Xathia (Who without a doubt, keeps the ACC running.) and the current Combat Master; Teroch/Sashar, who are following on from where Tim left: Rewriting the venue descriptions/starting posts and training new Judges.
Timeros has had a major impact on the Brotherhood throughout his time here, it would be remiss of us to ignore that and not reward him for that. So Im proud to give this recommendation that Timeros be elevated to the ranks of the Elders post haste. Thank you Timeros for all that youve done, not only for Arcona and myself; but also for the Brotherhood at large.

Quaestor of House Galeres
Tim has this aura about him that just sings "duh, winning" in everything that he does, and everything that he promotes for either Arcona or the Brotherhood. His attitude and passion for the club positively influences everyone around him and it is nothing short of inspiring. The energy and growth that he brings is only rivaled by his incredible mastery of the English language.
In the GJWX I had the pleasure of working with Tim practically every day for the whole event. His willingness to work with me though I was brand new, and teach me better ACC practices all the while slamming his own matches allowed me to come in 4th place as a PRT, something that is incredibly daunting that most Journeyman shy away from even attempting. Tim led from the front for this event, obtaining 1st place while still assisting others and even managed to place in other events at the same time. He simply was a force to be reckoned with and made sure others were as well.
Tim was no less amazing as a Rollmaster, making sure Journeymen and apprentices were taken good care of, going well out of his way to welcome new members and to help with issues they and others might have. He was an advocate for the Journeymen and a great mediator between masters and apprentices, his guidance being absolutely irreplacable. I find myself emulating much of what he taught, and two positions later I find myself still relying on his counsel on leadership.
Tim brings so much to the table for the Brotherhood and shares the wealth at his own expense, inspiring others to do the same. In this, it is an honor to call him a mentor and an absolute pleasure to recognize him for all he has done.

When I saw that Tim still hadnt been promoted to DA, I was stunned. The man is a veritable legend both in and out of Arcona, and I can personally attest that if it werent for him, the ACC wouldve closed down over a year ago. Why this asset to the entire Brotherhood still languishes in the ranks of Equites baffles me; his dedication is second to none, his care of the new members in Arcona is positively matronly, his ability to produce quality documents, standards and proposals Brotherhood-wide sets the standard, and his affable and charming presence on IRC is necessary for Arconas summit to survive. Put simply, the man has his talents, and those talents are a renaissance of professionalism across the board. Ill let my colleagues list his activity, but frankly it speaks for himself Tim has been around long enough to know the inner machinations of this club, and he has contributed significantly not just to Arconas growth, but the Combat Centres. That is by definition a large contribution to the Brotherhood as a whole, and that is the barrier from which most Equites are prevented from joining the ranks of Elders. Timeros has waived that barrier. Its time he was promoted. Well done, mate. Look forward to seeing you in the ACC ;)

As Voice of the Brotherhood the Antei Combat Centre falls under my prevue. One of my strongest weaknesses though has been and continues to be the ACC. When I came to office I made a short effort of gaining the necessary knowledge working experience with the society as I could but failed miserably. It fell therefore to my Combat Master, Timeros, to do a great number of things in dealing with the day to day upkeep and management of the Centre by himself. In my opinion, he did a fantastic job!
Various projects and initiatives were begun and finished under his supervision. Though the nature of our relationship was unspoken he still made all the motions to run these ideas past me and sought out my and Halcyonâs approval before binging many. His oversight brought great changes to the structure of the halls and the supervision and quality of the staff of judges. Every Combat Master leaves their own indelible mark on the ACC, but I believe that Timerosâs touch ranks up there with the best of them (i.e. Dalthid and Halcyon).
The ranks of the Elders are reserved for those whose impact has reached and affected the entire Dark Brotherhood. Their contributions have fundamentally altered and improved the experience of the members for whom they serve. Its my firm belief that Timeros Caesus Entar Arconae is well deserving of this elevation. I ask the Master-at-Arms to look favorably upon his service record in both the Antei Combat Centre as well as his home Clan of Arcona.

I first came to know Timeros Arconae not as a friend, not as a colleague, not even as a respected person, but as one of the hated Arconae. I am originally from Clan Scholae Palatinae, in the halcyon days of Phoenix Kaeth. The world was different back then, but the background is important, I promise you.
How does this relate to Timeros? Because in those days, Arcona and CSP didnât talk. They didnât mix. The only thing they did was snipe, hiss, and brutally murder each other in the most horrible ways possible, whenever and wherever it was possible.
I came to know Timeros through the ACC. When I was having trouble getting used to it, he was on staff. At the time, heâd not yet earned the clan name, and I didnât know he was Arconan. As such, I got to know him as he helped me with the ACC and answered my questions, proofed my posts, and overall made me feel welcome.
It wasnât until later, in the Eight Great Jedi War, in which I faced, and defeated him, that I realized that I had come to respect and admire him as a person, as an ACCâer, and as a dedicated individual devoted to the success of not just Arcona, but the Brotherhood as a whole.
In the intervening years, I have come to respect Timâs decisions and his knowledge upon many subjects, even when he has made mistakes. He has contribute across the entire Brotherhood, as a member in Arcona, as a Leader in Arcona, as a staff member in the ACC, as CM in the ACC, and now again as a staff member.
Itâs really a paltry description for someone who has spent thousands of hours writing fiction, proofing posts, guiding member development, answering questions, solving problems, coming up with solutions, and in many ways I will never know, enabling the development of the Brotherhood.
TImeros hasnât always made the wisest choices, but heâs stuck by his guns as them being those he would do, and no other. That can be respected, since he knows when to back down as well. Heâs willing to sacrifice, and indeed has many, many times.
I believe that Timeros Caesus Entar Arconae is deserving of a promotion to Dark Adept, and that he will do the title proud. That he will serve as a bulwark of integrity, steward of skill, and an enabler of talent.
OP Tra'an Reith (Obelisk)/QUA/Plagueis [ACC: JUD]
To be honest, the first time I ever interacted with Timeros I was a bit confused. Here was a long-standing member of Arcona talking to me, some guy from Scholae Palatinae. One does not simply have two members of these long-standing units interact! Tim was someone I had âseen aroundâ on IRC so I was vaguely familiar with his⦠trolling methods. He was one of âthoseâ members from what I had heard through the grapevine. Yet there I was, talking to him like a normal human being. Well as normally as you can with someone from Arcona. And I was shocked. He was clever in his jokes, but still rather civil. I never felt under attack like I had expected from hearing about him. It was actually quite a refreshing experience to have a good conversation with someone on IRC.
Since then Iâve talked and interacted with Tim off and on. The more I have gotten to know him, the more I saw someone who knew the brotherhood, and had deeply held beliefs about what could be done to help it. Whenever I worked with him, he was always incredible clear and upfront with well thought out ideas. He never just slacked away from what he was dedicated to.
And now here we are. Some people still give him a bad rap. He knows how to push anyoneâs buttons, truly a rare gift. But it is never mindless. You have to work and think to keep up with his banter and a long the way, you find its fun and you actually enjoy it. He is honest about what he feels and thinks, something that is all too rare in this club. While he will get crap from people who donât understand that fact and be called mean or rude, it something that should be celebrated instead. Sometimes you just need someone who will shoot straight and tell you how it is. And that is Timeros. At the end of the day, too few give him credit for that. Making that jump into the Elder ranks is a big one, but Timeros is someone who has spent years giving his heart and mind to this club and its members. And that is something that should be rewarded. Congratulations Timeros. Youâve earned it. Just donât let it go to your head. Your ego is already big enough. Well done.

Leadership is a quality that cannot be taught. It can be cultivated. It can be nurtured. But it absolutely cannot be taught. This truism pains many people, people who are successful administrators. Those who take the time to carefully plot out movements, track resources and crunch numbers are invaluable tools to leaders. But those leaders who can also administer are rare. Especially in this organization where so many attempt and fall short on both sides. Timeros Caesus Entar Arconae is one of those few individuals who have graced our organization with the ability to both lead and administer.
Timerosâ skills as an administrator are easy enough to point to. Look at his track record for crunching numbers for Arcona during competitions. Look at his ability to handle pressure situations and come through with data and information that proves his position. He does this efficiently and with little difficulty. Timerosâ skills as a leader, are a bit harder to get a grasp on, because he tries to obfuscate those qualities. But how often has he been the one to walk new members through something, usually ACC related? How often has he been able to sit down at the table with people he holds low opinions of and make it look like their insights matter to him? How often has he been Arconaâs fireman? He can be incredibly frank and candid when he needs to be, but when a situations requires he works with people heâd rather not, he is able to put aside opinion and feeling to deal with what needs to be done.
Timeros is Arconan through and through. One could say he is as Arconan as I am Tarenti. Everything he does for this organization bleeds Arcona. Everything he does to better this organization he does strictly to strengthen Arcona. And because everything he does is for Arcona he makes us all better for it. His work becomes the social equivalent of survival adaptive response in cells. Where one cell or group of cells survives and becomes stronger through change, so he helps Arcona lead the Brotherhood to adapt and change. Whether you agree with his disposition, his actions or his disposition Timeros is a leader, and administrator and one of the few Elder Statesmen of the Brotherhood.
I do not write many of these. I hate writing these. I find them an immeasurable waste of my time in most cases. I long for the days where I granted a promotion by fiat and it was done. Because pretty words are not my forte. Because I have better things to do with my time. Because few people have ever inspired me to waste proverbial ink on paper. But Timeros is one of those few individuals for whom I will make pretty words work, who is worth time to put ink to paper.
And so it is with great relish and no small amount of gratitude that I add my name to those who have already written recommendations for Timeros Caesus Entar Arconae.
By My Hand,
Maxamillian von Oberst-Tarentae
Timeros Arconae. In public, he'll bash you to no end. It doesn't matter who you are, it's going to happen. But I believe, there's a method to this madness. It forces you to think, REALLY think, and attempt to outwit him. Even if he's being a less than model member, he's forcing you to think. To improve, even. If you can prove that you've got more than the IQ of a rock, Timeros Arconae is a different person. In private, he's reserved; and it's possible to actually have a conversation with him. Over the past two or so years, I've had the pleasure of working with Timeros on and off on little things. We've talked much, and I've seen him go from being (honestly) a bit of a troll that several members disliked, just some old guy with another wrench up the back of his pants... to someone that you can really work with. But others can bore you with his accomplishments. I'm not here for that.
Timeros is a model member in the same sense that Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear loves the Prius. He really isn't. Despite this, many still look up to him - including myself. I've found myself over the past couple years looking to Tim for guidance, and he's provided it without hesitation. I know I'm not the only member that looks up to Timeros. He's smart, and he works hard - not only for his home, Clan Arcona, but the Brotherhood. If put into the situation, he can be one of the most un-biased people I know in this club. This Arconae is brutally honest and blunt, another thing that earns him points in my books. If he has something to say, he isn't afraid to say it. Do I think that Timeros has earned his place in the Elders?
Yes, yes I have. Go ahead and ask anyone. Aside from Halcyon, who would you want to judge your ACC battle? Who do you think will critique your fiction and tell honestly, if it's either REALLY bad or REALLY good? Not some up-and-coming member from one of the Houses or Clans in the Brotherhood. Timeros. Because you know he's going to be honest about it. The entrance into the Elder ranks is by far the biggest jump one can have, aside from the jump to Grand Master. You need to have a positive impact everywhere, not just your own House or Clan. and Timeros has done that. I hereby put forth my recommendation for Timeros' elevation to Dark Side Adept.
