As a new member to Arcona, I heard a great deal of names, tales of the people that had made their mark on the clan years before. Many of these people, and the stories that were attached to them, seemed so much larger than life. Now, years later, I’ve had the pleasure to meet some of them; but few have made an impact comparable to that of our venerable Ood, who returned to the fold of activity and immediately began making a name for himself once more. He is a sterling representation of Arcona’s spirit and drive, and a shining example of the Old Guard in action.

There has been a not-insignificant span since his last Recognition. But, since returning to the active fold of the Clan, Ood has demonstrated an enormous competitive drive, participating in a grand total of 128 competitions. His prolific work has netted an enormous impressive count of awards. These include three Novae, one of each flavor, alongside a heavy sum of crescents, counting up to one Diamond crescent, five Ruby crescents, eight Amethyst crescents, six Sapphire crescents, eight Emerald crescents, four Topaz crescents, and four Quartz crescents. This work includes 6321 words of fiction and 1645 words of Run-On writing, 21 Clusters of Ice, 18 Clusters of Graphite, and a Cluster of Fire. Moreover, Ood’s efforts have earned him eight Scrolls of Foundation, a Legion of the Scholar, a Seal of Wrath, four Seals of Visions, and seventeen Seals of Enmity.

If all that isn’t enough, Ood is a constant presence both on Telegram and on Discord. He has participated in multiple RPs, and is always providing keen insight to new and old members alike. Included in this activity is over four years of special Magistrate service to the Headmaster.

I am no longer quite as new and shiny as I once was, but Ood’s legacy and current work for the Clan and Club remain an example that I strive to emulate. Therefore, it is my honor and privilege to recommend him for the receipt of a Sapphire Blade. Good work, and enjoy the shiny shank!
