The honor of a Sapphire Blade is not to be taken, or measured, lightly. It is the pinnacle of feats for most members and the sign of upcoming, great leaders for a gifted few. I am proud to say that I believe this will be the first of many sacrificial awards for SBL Thran Occasus. And I am proud to have him as a member of the Clan and a leader on my team. Recently, a team of committed individuals worked together on the Clan Scholae Palatinae Dominion Project in an attempt to flesh out the Cocytus System - home of our Clan. The document spans over forty five pages of straight text - pure content - that uncovers a rich, detailed history for each of our four planets: Antenora, Caina, Judecca and Ptolomea. In addition to in-depth historical content, the document covers planet statistics, lunar statistics, planet geography, lunar geography, continents, islands, island chains, cities, landmarks, military outlook and political outlook. All in all, it provides an exceptional, fictional base for the members of Clan Scholae Palatinae to build from as they continue to advance their individual plots, and the plot of the Brotherhood and the Clan. Many thanks are necessary for all whom contributed to this project. Thran was brilliant in his assistance to this project, completely taking over the planet home world of House Caliburnus - his former charge, during his tenure as Quaestor. It was through his efforts that we discovered Ptolomea would become the bastion world of the Cocytus System, an Imperial Garrison of immense proportions capable of not only thwarting the Yuuzhan Vong whom had attempted to conquer it, but provide a base of operations for the future of our Scholae Palatinae Corps. Integrating the Dynasty Station, Military and Caliburnus into his writing, Thran gave us a world of scholarly pursuit that possesses a sharpened, military edge. His write-ups were nothing short of brilliant, immersing his reader into unique military bases and lush valleys filled with exotic flora and fauna. Great work, Thran... you will forever be a Rock Star! But it does not stop here. Thran was a crucial asset during Fleet Reset, as we abused his knowledge of Star Wars Ships & Fighters to develop our current Fleet. He spent countless hours drafting proposals, with explanations, to allay an entire Clans fears for a crucial point in their history. From this point, he went on to divide our new Fleet into Task Forces, Battle Groups and Lines - even assigning the fighter squadrons to specific ships and denoting command ships. From here, he reorganized our Fighter Corps, giving them new assignments, names and call signs. He spent a vast amount of time on these two projects, in conjunction, to ensure that the members of Scholae Palatinae would have a vast, rich fictional prospectus. Thran was also responsible for running the Fleet Ship Naming competitions, creating three polls and sorting through countless submissions. He, truly, is our Ace in Space. Personally, he has earned eight (8) crescents (Cr-A, Cr-S, 3 Cr-E, 2 Cr-T, Cr-Q), two Clusters of Fire (for participation in the ACC), a Dark Cross and a Seal of Loyalty. He has passed three Shadow Academy courses: Capital Starship Studies, Dark Brotherhood Basics, Weapon Basics. Thran has also began work on his extensive, detailed history by converting his long fictions to the DB Wiki. This process, however, has been slowed by his work for the Clan on creating the necessary pages for our Squadrons as he updates our Corps. He has also been busy as the leader of the Battle Team Nightshade Squadron since his resignation from Quaestor, as he mapped out a schedule for his unit and provided them with updates and competitions. And he was recently torn from this position to serve as the Aedile of House Dorimad Sol. Where he has already begun to implement a new series of changes and updates that range from the basic frame work of a new House Facility (2 page proposal) and providing his members with at least two new competitions bi-weekly. He is also reporting regularly and giving the House its first, true Aedile to compliment the Quaestor. For his ability to be flexible and work for the betterment of the Clan (testified by his resignation of QUA, to allow his AED to grow into that position - and subsequent appointment as AED), to give up personal ambitions to work on Clan Projects (Ptolomea.doc, Corps Reset, HDS Facility proposal, Clan Menagerie) and his ability to be a role model for the rest of the Clan... I am honored to present him this blade. And look forward to the day that I can elevate him within the Equite ranks.

For valiant effort in leadership during the Ninth Great Jedi War and leading his clan to third place, Thran is hereby awarded the Sapphire Blade. Congratulations and well done. ~ Muz Ashen, Dark Lord of the Sith
From the 5-11-09 GM report:
First Place, Arcona's Sashar, will recieve an Amethyst Kukri for his efforts in leadership. Despite a major snafu that left him without half his summit, Sashar was still able to keep Arcona on track and fighting to unseat Taldryan.

Taldryan's Shadow and Scholae Palatinae's Thran will both be receiving Sapphire Blades for their work to keep the war close. With so few points different and the tensions high, it was quite a feat to keep everyone going that long. Plagueis' Braecen, Naga Sadow's Bob, and Tarentum's Anshar will all be receiving Grand Crosses of the Dark Side as well, for their efforts. Congratulations, Consuls, and well done.

Thran has been a powerhouse individual within CSP. By the numbers he's clearly one of the top performers but his contributions have extended far beyond that.
He spearheaded our clan possession overhaul. From reviewing our existing possession, determine total value by asset, developing the new clan possession layout - researching extensively the Imperial Guidebook - and producing an easy to read analysis of recommended items to sell, purchase, and the corresponding structure to place the possession in.
Thran has championed our gaming night(s) and is always available for a match of BF2. He's equally an amazing chess player if you're seeking a casual gaming partner. I've learned quite a bit from him regarding my own chess playing.
I'm honored to see him receive this recognition and would expect to see more great things from him as he continues his time within the Regent's office.
I want to conclude here by speaking to Thran's leadership presence and abilities in Clan Scholae Palatinae. In short, he has been one of the greatest positive impacts on Clan activity and club gaming activity since his last recognition, and most definitely since his return to full activity. This is because Thran exemplifies the idea of leading by example, and using his example as a beacon of encouragement for his fellow Clan members. When he's gaming, he's always inviting people out to play - and not just his closest friends, but everyone! When he's writing, he's constantly bringing us along for the journey. When he's working on DC project work, even if he can't share the details, he shares his sheer excitement for it. And that gets people hyped up! It gets members engaged and talking with one another. And this is Thran to a tee. He wants people to be involved, to find their niche and passion, and to recognize how much fun being a member of this club is.
Thran is a foundational pillar of our Clan and club community who reminds everyone in the Clan that we're all DJB members who love Star Wars and want to have fun. He is a member who we should all strive to mirror and match in overall activity output, service to the community, and the ability to generate comradery and bonds between fellow members. He's the best of us.
I am so honored to see Thran being recognized for all of his great work. I know there are only great things ahead for him, and I'm so excited to see where it leads him. Congratulations, Thran, and keep it up.

Dear Usurper, the following message has been reviewed and approved by K'vin and found to be free and clear of any liable comments.
Thran has continued to be an invaluable member of Scholae Palatinae, having recently assumed the position of Proconsul. Even before he assumed this role he has been a trusted advisor and sounding board for me to workshop items for the Clan and the Clan storyline.
The quality, and scope, of the Dark Times Saga - Civil War was influenced by Thran's guidance. To, probably no one's surprise, Thran's liberal use of the CSP Black Card has secured our new planetary and system based assets. I also enjoyed thoroughly our Coop fiction and shared Gold Nova. May we all learn the cautionary tale of Kam's Ham Sam.
While it is probably bad business giving him more sharp objects, he's definitely earn it and more!

Thran (or the Thranalorian as he's annoyingly taken to calling himself sometimes) continues to be a fierce storm to be reckoned with on the Regent Staff, surpassing all expectations on the daily. He's spent the last two months working extremely diligently, taking those 32 proposed capital ship upgrades he started with during my last recommendation to 100+ separate upgrades, helping to fulfill my vision for this project. Just like Planetary Assets, which was a driving factor in my recommendation for his Elder promotion, Thran had to come up with several different aspects for this system. Not only did he completely develop, balance, and do most of the quality control on those 100+ items, he came up with a suitable slotting scheme for each different "size" of upgrade as well as the slot sizes for each category of capital ship, putting in an exemplary amount of theory into making sure it fits both realism and possessions. He took point on pricing for this project as well, creating the pricing scheme and working with Korvis and myself to find the incredibly difficult sweet spot on where we wanted them to be. In addition to all that, Thran wrote most of the Capital Ship Upgrades Primer doc submitted to Evant and Bubba that explains our reasoning and methodological approach to this project.
And as if that wasn't enough, he did primary item photos reviews on the CIS Item Review fellow staff member Teebu completed to cut content he knew I would not accept (he was right), and is a major contributor in our next booster release, completing over 10 additional item prototypes. It's not out of this world for me to say here and now that when I finally step down (not anytime soon, don't get any ideas Thran) he is the clear and obvious choice for my replacement. I can't think of any other member in recent times that has earned a Sapphire Blade just two months after earning a Ruby Scepter, but a Grand Cross just isn't enough for the sheer amount of work this guy puts in. I'm very lucky to have him as my Praetor.

I am going to utterly fail to do this justice. So, umm, here's another knife to stab in my back?
Waits for the Bear to sigh*
Okay, now that we've got that out of the way. Thran continues to be an absolute powerhouse within Scholae Palatinae. Why, one would almost think he's already usurped me. His gaming has been top notched, finishing the quarter amongst the Top 10 in the GMRG. His leading Roleplaying activity is already the stuff of legends. The world building...a whole water park adventure...is unmatched in my opinion. He's been a top finisher in the prologue for the Hutt Expansion.
Now, that's all well and good, but he's been training a new Quaestor, providing much needed feedback on the Hutt expansion story arc, preparing for another Roleplaying event all while maintaining his productivity within the Regency that he'll be recognized for I'm sure when the next release comes out.
In all my years leading clans and units Thran is that unbridled gem that works as hard and harder than everyone else and constantly finds way to add value. I don't know if I could ever find someone who compliments me quite as well.
Congratulations Thran!
