Appearance
Morgan Bartholomew Sorenn is an attractive Human female of average height and weight. She maintains an hourglass figure and walks with a confident swagger. Her eyes are aquatic blue, contrasting her naturally tanned lips and darker makeup. She has an alluring frame, upright posture, and a demeanor that fits as easily in the slums of Nar Shaddaa as it does the higher societies of Coruscant. Now, in her thirties, her air of maturity and confidence still draw enough attention to her. She usually sports her black locks in a short, tidy haircut that only slightly falls over her eyes.
Distinguishing Marks
Morgan's entire body, from the neckline down, is covered in various tattoos. Most are simple mementos, like the names of the people she cares for most, or simple gang tattoos, but some are also visually stunning masterpieces. Her torso is covered with an intricate design of unknown origin which is often the topic of rumors among her crew who have seen it. Her chest is inked with her personal symbol, a Human skull in a kraken's jaws. The right side of her neck shows the leviathan skull her crew is known for, while the left shows her first mate, C'ree's, family symbol.
Attire
When she wants to blend in or when she expects a fight, Morgan wears comfortable, tight pants and soft leather jackets to accent her figure, as well as cheap but tight shirts or corsets that don’t make her stand out too much. She wears her usual high-heeled, knee-high boots, which she finds equally comfortable and stylish. In other, less dangerous situations, she prefers to wear haute couture or other similarly classy clothing made specifically for her, especially high-quality leathers, silks and furs.
Sorenns are known for being slippery and tricky individuals and Morgan, in particular, must have been born under a lucky star. She has an uncanny knack for surviving sticky situations when her life is threatened. Having endured many perilous losses and lived to see another day, to the people who know her, Morgan seems to be one of the luckiest and most stubborn individuals alive. She is well known for surviving against the toughest odds, if by the skin of her teeth.
Despite that, though, Morgan's luck never seemed to hold up in her personal life, and she's suffered many heartbreaks and bad endings for one reason or another. She might survive some awful odds, but it seems like she survives to live alone, and even that luck is bound to dry up eventually.
As a pirate captain, Morgan has struggled daily with stronger, faster, and deadlier enemies. From powerful crime bosses to despots controlling entire systems, she has been forced to outsmart them all to do what's most important to her: survive. Ever since her appointment as Herald isolated her, she has clung to that mindset, using Manipulation and Intellect — with a sprinkle of good looks and brutality — to successfully outmaneuver both friend and foe on a grander stage.
In addition, with the Force as her guide, she can predict and catch her enemies off guard, creating a manipulator to be reckoned with. It comes at a price, however. Morgan’s constant over thinking has made her deeply paranoid and often stressed to the point of outburst in the unlikeliest of situations.
Morgan is a spacer who has lived by her own wits most of her life. She enjoys a lifestyle free of rules and regulations and often has a hard time settling down in one place. She has never had a home with a warm hearth and a loving family, nor has she ever considered Nar Shaddaa or Corellia her home planet. A starship's greasy, filthy, ozone-smelling interior is as homely as it gets for her.
This lifestyle comes with one particular code: live free, die free. This kind of attitude has put her at odds with many law-enforcing organizations and authorities throughout the galaxy, as well as some of her employers, since she has absolutely no respect for bullies, the self-centered and petty, and especially authority that hasn't been earned through respect.
As Morgan would say: "nothing in the 'verse is ever black and white." She has never viewed the universe as being limited to a battle between good and evil or between dark and light. As such, she has no interest in Jedi or Sith philosophy. For Morgan, they are both children fighting over toys. She has as little love for the war-mongering machinations of the Sith as for the pacifist code of the Jedi, and thinks dying for either or a similar institution is foolish. Instead, she keeps to her mercenary lifestyle and views the Force as a necessary tool to keep herself alive. She puts little value in mysticism and the pursuit of power and, ironically, values courage to protect loved ones more than any other trait.
Being extremely perceptive by nature, as a rule Morgan evaluates her surroundings in detail and keeps her eyes open. This force of habit, developed through many years of surviving in the gloomiest holes in the 'verse, has saved her life more than once. Her uncanny Perceptiveness, and her superior Intellect, have also made her into a good on-the-fly tactician when it comes to sticky situations that require improvisation and a quick wit, such as being pushed into a corner or being caught in an ambush.
However, when it comes to actual battlefield tactics, planning, or indeed, even coordinating small groups of people into a coherent formation, unless they're a ship's crew, Morgan falls flat on her face. She would rather leave the "complexities of kicking each other" to more experienced individuals.
Morgan is remorseless when her life is in danger and will endeavor, as best she can, to permanently remove anyone threatening her well-being. She is temperamental and often uses any weapons at her disposal to incapacitate or eliminate her enemies or force them to retreat. Pompous, chest-pumping speeches and unnecessary delays are a hindrance and an annoyance that only lead to an untimely death, and she has neither the patience nor the inclination to indulge in them. She puts hardly any value in her enemies' lives, as well, so once her weapon is out, it is usually out to kill or wound without hesitation. She has a penchant for killing if only to remove the chance at future retaliation, which usually results in her gaining, even more, enemies.
