Primary reason: I'm not sure I could even remember everything that Dacien has done in the past seventeen months as Praetor to the Headmaster. At the surface, he spearheaded the reorganization of the Dark Side Degrees program. He's helped code every new course released, at least five, and helped code the exams. He also reads through all of the member submitted histories, which he will quickly tell you is one of the worst tasks there is, but still he does it. Not to mention the important task of getting me up to speed when I took over as Headmaster, letting me know what projects were being worked on, where he saw things going, and how things are done while I added my own flare. All of this while juggling a college education and family life. Aside from these public things, however, Dacien also does the behind the scenes work: coding improvements, proofreading documents, participating in important staff discussions, keeping the EPs in line, keeping my head on straight. He is the perfect Praetor, because he does exactly what the job was designed to do, advises the Headmaster. He is my second brain, always there to provide thoughts or counter arguments on ideas or plans that I have, and I email him ideas all the time. Sometimes these thoughts happened, other times they are killed, but all because Dacien wasn't afraid to give his input. It is his judgement and advice that I trust the most in every discussion, and indeed look to when making the final decisions. It is for these very reasons that he will be remaining on the staff as a Magistrate. Things will continue to move forward in the Shadow Academy after his time as Praetor, but it will not be a simple task in coming to trust his replacement on the same level as I do Dacien. Primary reason: I am honored and proud to submit a promotion request for Dacien Victae di Plagia, or as I have known him for years, BubbaX. Bubba has served as a the Praetor to the Headmaster for quite some time and in his duties he has worked consistently on improving the Shadow Academy and providing coding support. His work and efforts have allowed for several new courses to be seamlessly released as well as the cleaning up of some old and unwieldy SA coding.

In addition to Bubba's coding work, he remains as always a steadfast and trustworthy advisor who provides insight and useful commentary on ways to improve and better the Dark Brotherhood.

Bubba has served consistently and at high levels over the past year with a dedication to improve the Dark Brotherhood. For this service, he is long overdue a well deserved promotion.

It's been over a year since Dacien's last promotion, so I've no doubt that this is much deserved. Bubba's activity spans over many facets of the Dark Brotherhood, most recently the coding staff, but when it comes to the Shadow Academy I really don't know what I would do without him, and I think former Headmaster Anshar would say the same thing. While I know a limited amount of HTML and coding, Dacien is the true genius when it comes to keeping the Academy running and constantly improving. He is the one who codifies new courses, he fixes glitches, and most importantly he fixes my mistakes. Now, he is working on even greater improvements to the way the SA works.

Aside from the coding, Dacien is also the perfect Praetor. Whenever I have an idea, I tell him, and he gives his thoughts without hesitation. He helps proofread new courses, and deny others, as well as steps in and helps grade exams whenever needed. The Shadow Academy is the prime example of an organization that needs multiple parts to stay running, and Dacien is without a doubt one of the most crucial parts in that machine. Bubba... err... Dacien... is awesome. In the eight-odd months he has worked as Praetor to the Headmaster, he has yet to receive a formal award for all his work, and I'm proud to change that. His ideas and opinions are always welcomed and encouraged, and his coding experience keeps the Shadow Academy running. Whenever my limited coding knowledge screws something up, he fixes it, and without him the SA website would undoubtedly run a lot worse. Along with the almost constant coding he does on the website, he has also coded around half a dozen new courses practically by himself (although I do volunteer to help), processes character histories (that in itself takes its toll), work with Orv to make the better course listing menu, and is an indispensible moral compass. Dacien (Bubba) was an excellent addition to the SA staff. His coding skills are top rate and he was a big help in getting new courses up and running. He's always providing feedback on ideas, as well as presenting his own. When he came into the praetor job, he came in with his own ideas for the Shadow Academy, but was also willing to get involved with the current projects.
