Riku wasn’t born, he was created. A soldier bred for one purpose and in some ways bred to simply know one thing; war. A descendent of the ARC Commando created for the Republic years ago and the Empires SCARs, his skills transcend that of a common soldier but it comes at a price. Bound until death to the Keibatsu family his entire purpose is to serve and die in their name.

Though granted the honour near equal standing amongst the family in recent times he still struggles with the concept of free speech, ideas and will. Loyalty binds him and in conflicts of interest between Clan and Family, he will always put his family first.

Riku would like to think he surrounds himself with good people though the truth is he only surrounds himself with Nihilgenia. There is one being, besides his brothers and lords, that Riku will kill for. Frey'jah, Daughter of Clan Lok and Riku's sociopathic partner. There is no limit to how far either of them would go to protect the other, even if it means Riku needs to step up and challenge her disapproving father.

The bond between the two of them is something they are both comfortable with though Riku is well aware should anything happen to her then nothing would stop him from enacting revenge.

Unwilling to bow, except to the family, Riku believes the sacrifice of one is worth the saving of millions. This belief has no limits going as far as the ideology that full genocide of a planet would be better than the loss of a system. This dark outlook serves him well as a commander, enabling him to go that extra mile needed to secure the victory. He is, however, unwilling to simply sacrifice his own men and fellow Nihilgenia, causing some confusion amongst allies and potentially souring relationships with them as he is seen favouring his own.

Given he believes in the superiority of the Nihilgenia and Keibatsu over that of other beings this makes complete sense to the Commander. After all, if the best fall who would ensure victory was secured?

Having been grown for for the Keibatsu family, Riku has always wondered does he truly exist as a person. A clone of someone he will never meet, a child born without a father but with dozens of brothers who all claim to be him. The mental scars that have been left as he developed his own sense of self and personality have left trenches of self-doubt and worth. He often wonders if he is worthy of ever holding the Keibatsu name on top of wondering wherever he is worthy of holding the simple title of human.

Unwilling to give up he pushes forward every day. However, as he emerges from the background into the forefront of a Clan he feels the crushing presence of self-doubt begin to emerge once more and old scars begin to open and bleed.

Riku has developed a sadistic need for control. As well as his swordsmanship, he takes great pleasure in manipulating the minds of his opponents. Utilising both Mind Trick and Terror as well as the principles of Dun Moch the Nihilgenia not only wishes to dominate with martial skill but also with mind-altering Force techniques.

This need to maintain control stems from the lack of control of his own life. These deep seated issues can lead him to make sloppy decisions and overextending himself. They can also lead him to refuse to surrender in a combat, choosing instead to fight to the end rather than acknowledge his own failures.

Riku prides himself on his swordsmanship. Having trained under Darth Ashen he dedicated his time to pushing himself as far as he could go. Once satisfied that he had learned enough of his primary form he pushed himself to learn a second as well as weaving aspects of the Force into his swordplay and developing an almost cocky approach to fighting. Not content to simply fight Riku is fond of taunts and jeers, attempting to put his opponent off or make a mistake that the duelist can exploit.

His style is a double edged sword. Should he not watch himself he can often find he spends far too much time on the show and not enough time on the fight potentially allowing his opponent to regain their composure.
