Sometimes, you give an active member a task to keep them working. Sometimes, they ask for a task in the hopes of reward. Sometimes, however, they ask for a task for a simple reason: They want to contribute, for no reason other than the good their contribution will bring about. Such a member is Sarak Shai.
In addition to being a very capable and decisive Aedile, a responsive member, and my personal deterrent to insanity via PLA Quaestorship, he can effectively be called the father of our recent Reboot Event. If not for Sarak, it would have been a very different event and concept.Sarak's use of a Vong character sheet worked with his activity to earn him a side-plot as a GJW Incursion survivor in the event, but that side-plot blossomed into an idea between us for what the event would be about. Less than a week after I tasked him to create our enemy, the Dark Crusaders of Yun-Harla, it was done spectacularly. Similarly, when I asked him to define Si'Tilk, their base, he did so and his description was used for it in the event. It will continue to be used for it as a captured PLA structure.
His work writing the Vong characters in the fiction, his brilliant idea for his character to be a disgraced traitor of the Crusaders, his cooperation in keeping the Run-On alive, and his plot development input shaped the Taking of Si'Tilk into what it was. Finally, he single-handedly designed nearly every individual competition for the event.
To top it all off, Sarak has done all of this, has created a historic and House-changing event for PLA, with no promise or hint of reward. Furthermore, not only did he get no promise of reward, he didn't ask after one. Such dedication to the House of Ascendancy and such a steadfast and pure work ethic means that Sarak is the example of what the Brotherhood deems suitable for reward. His excellent and extensive work as a leader of Plagueis stands testament to the fact that he deserves the Grand Cross of the Dark Side. Congratulations, Sarak, and well done!

For the creation of the six NPC leaders of the force Plagueis will face in the coming Military System Reboot Event, as well as for assisting in the creation of concepts for that enemy force, the creation of concepts for the event's storyline, and a competition concept for the event itself, I feel Sarak Shai is worthy of reward in the form of a Dark Cross. Congratulations!

Changing my last name, Jemaane is the same name of the Supreme Overlord of the Vong, and I didn't realize that at the time. Shai is the name of the Domain that especially loves pain, which I'd like to reflect in my character.

Since joining us in Revan Sarak has tirelessly looked for ways to aid us in every facet of our operation. His dillegence led him quickly to the rank of Sith Warrior as well as becoming the first Cell Leader in Revan's history.
During the Rite of Supremacy: Spoils of War he has submitted to nearly every event including Round 1's Fiction and Poetry, Round 2's Fiction, and the Finals Fiction event. He also helped Sarin and I to provide the rest of the House with information and updates, as well as direclty contributing to our first round victory in the Antei Combat Center.
We of Revan could not be more proud of Sarak and his work on our behalf. Please award him the coveted Grand Cross of the Dark Side.
Raken, Independent House Revan
Leadership is not a position, it is a skill set found in few and far between. The Dark Brotherhood has developed squad sized leaders, platoon sized leaders, and company size leaders within the House structure. These individuals, when they possess the right stuff, are the fuel that keeps the Dark Brotherhood engine running. Sarak is one of these members. Organizing his team, spreading information, and remaining a vocal leader throughout the recent Vendetta, Sarak motivated house Revan and led the House to a top two finish. Leading through words and deeds, Sarak submitted to nearly every event, participated in the treacherous ACC, and still found the time to contact member after member in Revan to help encourage participation. For his leadership and stellar participation, a Grand Cross is an obvious award. Congrats.

I would like to call the Brotherhood's attention to Sarak Jemaane. Sarak is unique throughout the entire Dark Brotherhood in that his is the only officially recognized Yuuzhan Vong character we have. He alone and no others. This honor was not given to him lightly, rather he worked for it by convincing Grand Master Muz Ashen he was suited to playing such a controversial character for a clutch of Dark Jedi. But convince Muz he did as his performance in the club and in House Revan has convinced me he is worthy of the prestigious elevation to the Equite ranks.
Sarak has worked for his various Clans, Houses and Battleteams at the rank of Dark Jedi Knight for 18 months. In that time he has remade not only his character, but his attitude and outlook on his time in the Brotherhood. Both of which I can only describe as fantastic. I had known of him previously and his remarkable turn-around in demeanor is exactly what I hope running this club in a professional manner inspires in new and old members alike.
Since beginning House Revan six months ago Sarak has been at our disposal willing to help with anything required of him. He has helped me bring several wiki articles relating to the Ninth Great Jedi War up to date. Namely articles dealing with the Armed Forces of the Iron Throne. Not for his benefit or Revan's, but for the benefit of the club.
He applied to Sarin and I several times for leadership within the House which he eventually earned becoming Revan's first ever Cell Leader. He has helped me personally to organize material for the House, create competitions on-demand for our recent influx of Journeymen, stay in contact with new members (in many cases within minutes of being asked) as well as guide these new members in their early stages of development.
Since attaining Dark Jedi Knight 18 months ago he has earned two Seals of Remembrance, 12 Clusters of Fire, 13 Crescents, two Dark Crosses, and an Anteian Cross. He has also run 7 competitions, and passed 12 Shadow Academy courses.
Sarak is dependable, trustworthy, motivated to make not only his House, but the entire club a better place and he asks nothing in return. He exemplifies House Revan's ideals and I do not recommend him for this elevation lightly, but wholeheartedly.
--Raken, Independent House Revan
In the short time that I have known him he has consistently been an active presence within House Revan. He joined us rather boldly, a knight jumping into a group of Equites and has since had more of an influence than his rank would suggest. He always has a positive attitude and a considered opinion on matters that may come up. He is also always willing to lend a hand to new members. He is open to advice, and that is a major skill in the ranks of Brotherhood leadership that I wish some others would display.
In these recommendations much is based on actual tangible displays, so here is what Sarak has done since his promotion to Dark Jedi Knight:
Earned 4 Topaz Crescents, 4 Quartz Crescents, 3 Emerald Crescents, 2 Sapphire Crescents, 12 CoFs, 2 Seals of Remembrance from the â08 IGâs, 2 Dark Crosses for his service both in House Marka Ragnos and more recently in House Revan, an Anteian Cross for his stellar competition performance during a feud in Clan Naga Sadow.
Most importantly however Sarak has always been willing to help the minute we even think about starting a project in House Revan. Raken and I know that if we ever need a hand with anything we are working on that we can go to Sarak and he will be willing to help, even if it is just to brainstorm ideas. It is this kind of dedication and service that embodies the Equite class. I am extremely pleased to welcome Sarak into a whole new world within the brotherhood.
