My commitments in RL combined with my general lack of interest in DB activities at this time pretty much means that I have no time for the DB and Arcona right now. I'll probably get back once I've managed to clear up some stuff, but for now, best place for me us in the Rogues.
Hugs and kisses,
-Zakath

DJK Zakath is long overdue this. Heâs been in Arcona over a year now, and in that time has risen from JH to DJK, and from BTM to Quaestor of Galeres. He is always available for candid advice regarding clan matters, or even to just shoot the breeze with. All of the members like him and respond well to him on IRC â he works well with other members of the summit, and when given clear boundaries of responsibility, excels in leadership roles. In the time since his last major reward, he has been Clan Rollmaster, Aedile of Galeres, and when his QUA was on LoA for around a month ran the House himself before finally being elevated to QUA officially, which he has served with distinction for well over a month since. He has run six competitions for the House and Clan, heâs participated in virtually every competition and run on Iâve thrown at him (no mean feat) and perhaps most importantly of all to me, heâs acted as a brilliant buffer between myself and some of the newer members, helping them get past their newbish phase and evolve into something resembling an asset for the clan.

I know Iâve said this before, but it needs emphasising: He Is An Excellent Quaestor. Possibly the best Iâve had the pleasure of working with. He keeps in daily communication with all three of his Battleteam Leaders, produces regular reports, keeps producing quality competitions that test the members, handles the difficult members with a diplomatic ease that I envy and can both give and take orders (a rare trait). He is also more than an administrator, as he helped Braecen develop the policy documents for both the Shadesworn Training Scheme 2.0 and Project: Reb00t that are now in effect. On top of this, he also procured several Boeing Management Manuals for Braecenâs perusal, hoping to eventually produce a higher class of leader in Arcona â I canât think of more dedication to creating a better next generation of Arconans than that example. Ninj is the diamond in the summit crown, and he deserves better than DJK. Congratulations, my friend.

As Tradition dictates, we hand out Seals of Loyalty on the Day of the Fox. These individuals have shown great loyalty to the club as a whole, in their efforts to keep our club fun, interesting, and growing into the future. It is a token of our esteem, and I wish to congratulate this year's recipients.

For participation in creating, discussing, refining and executing Project Shadesworn within Clan Arcona. The leaders were required to provide direct, concise feedback on the initial outline, ratify the final copy and execute the plan of action set in place. This involved lots of late night & early morning discussions, lots of e-mails, absurd amounts of contact with subordinate leaders, the honored Arconae and fielding the concerns of the members themselves.
Each member was crucial in helping pick new Clan Force Powers (based in Star Wars canon), helping shape the "Shadesworn" identity (history, overview, specifics), creating & reviewing fictional elements (Shadow Oath fiction, Shadow Disciple fiction, etc), as well as assisting in creation of new administrative tools (clan-wide activity tracker, leadership efficiency tool, shadesworn@gmail, etc). In addition, the discussions stimulated future projects and tightened the margin for error with Project Reb00t.
Everyone did a lot of work and not every question had an easy answer. I am, however, extremely proud of every member whom helped shape the documents and gave it their all.

Zakath and Sanguinius are both deserving of honor and gratitude from all of Clan Arcona. And, especially, from me. At the onset of my tenure as their Proconsul, I established that both Aediles would work for me... and that we were going to work hard.
Our first, and perhaps most ominous, task was to establish a culture of activity within Arcona. I do not buy that this season is a 'lull' and I demanded they mirror my thought process. Both complied and stepped forward, willingly, to assist. We spent two weeks brain storming numerous competitions for the month of October (Halloween, yay) and began to set a plan of action. Not only did we determine the exact competitions, but the pair spaced them out over the entire month (creating a calender), submitted the competitions for MAA approval and have - without reproach - run each competition for the event.
Not only do they provide us weekly reminders and recaps, but they use it as a tool to continue driving the member experience. In several instances, I have seen both Aediles use a submission e-mail as a means of reaching out to their members to check on their welfare, ask for insight or to simply congratulate them (and then invite them onto IRC).
For such an exceptional demonstration of leadership and genuine care for their members, I applaud their efforts with Anteian Crosses. Well done, gentlemen.

In addition, the House Leaders were required to provide specific visions to their new Team Leads, help shape Team proposals, refine those proposals and present them before the Clan Leaders - Dash & I. It took over a month, but we finally reached pay dirt. Congratulations, guys.

Zakath has served as my Aedile for several months and done so with distinction. He has proven to be an able leader and very capable at following directions, two things that generally contradict one another in the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. He has taken great initiative with journeyman development, stepping in for an inactive Rollmaster and then emailing the journeyman personally to inform them on their next steps. This kind of personal attention is what makes the difference between a new join becoming an active member and contributor to their clan, who is properly educated in the basics of the Dark Brotherhood, which is the end goal and someone that gets Shadow Oathed out of the clan and never reappears.
Furthermore while I was away on an unavoidable extended absence (one month IRL time) he stepped up and maintained the House Galeres as the sole summit member. In that time as the sole summit member, part of the time with an inactive clan Summit. Furthermore once the Clan Summit became active and was appointed respectively, he proved cooperative with them and while continuing to take initiative in several areas and still standing in for the roll master, ably followed the specific direction I had given him. For all these reasons and more Zakath deserves this Steel Cross as a token of my gratitude and in recognition for the able service he provided as my stand-in and continues to provide as my Aedile.
