Adept Malik Sadow completed his two year tour in the Star Chamber on 18 May 2020. Malik provided invaluable counsel to the Grand Master and the permanent members of the Star Chamber throughout this period. His tour included decisions focused on the long term health of the club, the succession plan of our Grand Master, and the confirmation of a Justicar. Malik's commitment to our club was displayed by the countless hours he spent in discussion with Star Chamber and we benefited greatly from his presence.

The Permanent Members of the Star Chamber (Jac/Sarin/Muz) are proud to award you a Amethyst Kukri.

Primary reason

Adept Malik Sadow has been grinding away at the XP ladder in order to reach another accolade in his career. Over the past few months this Old Guard of Sadow has put forth an impressive stack of activity. Most recently he racked up seventy one points for Sadow during the Great Jedi War XVI: Transcendence. He participated in seven comp bins and placed in five GJW Comps. Those contributions led to CNS having the highest participation rate throughout the war! He has participated in over one hundred comps earning himself close to a hundred clusters along this trek.

Not only that, to further his DB education he took on courses at the Shadow Academy earning himself two degrees in Communications & Activities. Malik's commitment to our little Star Wars family is difficult to quantify in a manner commensurate with who he is. However that commitment is always on point and leading by example. He has been the BTL for Sapphire Squadron for nearly a year and under his leadership Sapphire witnessed an increase in activity from its members which helped bolster our participation rate for the War.

As one of our resident Old Guard, his council is both persuasive and impactful at all levels of the Clan. His experience and knowledge has contributed to multiple developments of Clan possessions, story arcs and the overall dynamics of the Clan. As a former member of the Club’s Star Chamber the Adept is a valuable member to have in and Clan.

It is with great pleasure to be a part of this award recommendation. This is just a small token of the Clan’s appreciation for everything you do. Congrats Sir and well deserved!

Malik has been a steady hand in activity for a long while, leading from the front as a battleteam leader - a position that he only took on as a favor to the summit. He has served as a great example of what consistent activity can look like. On top of that, he's been a pretty vocal contributor behind the scenes as well, working closely with the rest of the summit to fine-tune plans, troubleshoot issues and help refine major changes as we work our way toward them. I think the last thing I had recommended for Malik was his elder promotion all those years ago, and I'm pleased to be in the position to add a bit to this sacramental. Thank you, Malik. Sorry that it's not 55 Dark Crosses, Malik, but I hope this works out for you all the same. ;)

Master Malik Sadow, that has a cool ring to it. Another dogged Elder to have here within the Clan. Again I cannot say it enough, I am surrounded by the best staff and former staffers one could ask for. Malik is no exception, as another former Consul of CNS his leadership is sought out by Clan Summit regularly.

Over the past few moons Master Malik Sadow has been involved in fifty six competitions and earned sixty three Crescents. When he is not busy racking up XP points, Master Sadow has strolled over to the Shadow Academy and furthered his education by earning himself a Maven Societies degree.

He has been as steadfast in his journey as one could get. During his time he has added many accolades to his trophy case. More importantly, he has never stopped giving back. From his time as Consul to Star Chamber member and back to Clan Summit. Malik has been involved in every single conversation we've had regarding staff/Clan projects and has counseled on every single one.

Even with him taking a sabbatical from leadership, he is always involved with Summit to better Clan dynamics. When he is not busting our chops in Summit chat, he consistently extends his knowledge and expertise to our members in CNS chat or one on one counseling. Some individuals cannot escape the fact that they are born leaders. These individuals are motivators and often lead through example. Malik has this quality, a true leader, with or without the position.

Without a doubt he is the prime example of an Elder. Master Sadow is and will always remain a distinguished icon within CNS, I cannot see CNS without him. It is with great pleasure and a great honor for Summit to present to you this prestigious award. Thank you Master Sadow for everything you continue to do for CNS. Congratulations!

The tree has done it again. Despite our efforts to warn him against this sort of thing by making him a Master, Malik has continued his campaign of competitions and crescents. After a massive stack of those to his name, we have no choice but to force him to carry yet another sharp rock.

In March, Malik decided to stop being on the summit for the seventh or eighth time and retire to regular membership, where he has continually been active. Participating in a wide array of competitions, it’s fairly usual to see his name in the top five of just about anything we get emailed on. This consistency is really something valuable, not only for his own credit account, but as an example to others. Showing what can be earned in the club and clan without resorting to the often-times thankless work of project or summit work, this can be a major point of encouragement for those who do not think themselves able to do those sorts of things. We appreciate you helping lead the members by example, from the front.

Thanks for putting in the work, Malik. Here’s another Amethyst Kukri for your collection.

Master Malik Sadow is another one of our foundational pillars. There are folks around the Club who swing a heavy bat, Malik is one of those for the Clan. You simply can’t have one without the other, and frankly, I can’t envision CNS without Master Malik Sadow.

It’s true, he’s been dubbed the Clan’s puzzle aficionado, and that’s because he is. But like many of our greats, Malik never seeks the spotlight. His long-standing tenure and stellar reputation speak volumes. Whether he’s answering obscure lore questions or blasting the Friday song in chat to keep the spirit alive, his humor and sharp one-liners bring a richness to our camaraderie.

You just can’t go wrong with having Master Malik around. The Clan leans on his counsel time and again, and he’s always there, ready to give back. Whether it’s an out-of-left-field question or being summoned into a dreaded Summit meeting for his perspective on Clan direction, Malik shows up with insight, wit, and unwavering dedication.

Master Malik Sadow has certainly earned the XP and the recognition to be awarded the Amethyst Kukri. It is with great pride and honor that the Clan presents you with this prestigious award. Congratulations, sir!

Malik Sadow, one of our resident puzzle masters, has lit up our screens again. between the accolades left over from his last recognition and the 20 competitions he’s done since then, Malness is due for a bit of praise. Four diamond crescents, two rubies, eight amethyst, five sapphire and one each of emerald and topaz, that brings his batting average to above 100%, thanks to overall placement in container comps. If Malik plays, he’s going to win something, and there’s few people who can make that claim.

On top of that, he is one of the more friendly voices helping to keep our chats on discord alive. This venue helps us all remain connected as a community of friends, and his running jokes, dry wit, and tales from the trades help engage people even on days where they might not bother. It’s appreciated, and we would be remiss to not say as much.

Today, I’m happy to be able to write a recc for yet another Amethyst Kukri for Malik’s collection. We appreciate all that you do, and we look forward to ever more. Thank you, Malik.
