I'd like to speak on behalf of Derev Niroth. I think he has done the best
job as Rollmaster. The guy is running a spiffy competition, and real
change has been made to the system for the good. We have not always seen
eye to eye, but even so I find him to be willing to engage in intelligent
and constructive discourse with me. I respect his work, and think he has
made this Clan a much better place. With him stepping up to QUA, I know
HMR will do great things again. His leadership during the GJW was
invaluable. I would reccomend that he be promoted for his excellent
service to this Clan.

Since I've known Derev, he has been a pleasant and well-mannered person,
engaging himself in various activities and running the Clan Trivia
excellently. I was welcomed warmly by Derev on IRC and he has since helped
me reach where I am now. Derev is an exemplary role-model, and I believe
he completely deserves this promotion.

Krath Tetrarch of the Night Raptors
I have to admit, when I first began working with Derev, we didn't really
see eye to eye. However, even though I personally disagreed with some of
his ideas and decisions, I'd be lying if I said he hadn't given them
utmost thought and attention to making them work. As RM, he and I
collaborated on the improved Master/Student Programme - his contributions
to the project proved far more effective than mine. As Quaestor of HMR, he
has continued to work with me on Envoy matters - over the course of the
past few months, HMR has undergone numerous Envoy changes, and Derev has
helped oversee the process of selecting a new Envoy thoroughly and with
excellent care.
He was one of the biggest motivators of the clan during the GJW,
constantly keeping us updated on events and happenings, encouraging us to
do well, and he paid particular care to the runon, making sure everything
was in order.
I'm not one of Thorin's biggest supporters, but in the time he's been in
CNS since his return, he has fully earned his promotion.
Sith Warrior Xayun Erinos
Aedile of House Ludo Kressh
Sith Warrior Derevko "Thorin" Niroth is one of the Clans more well known
characters. He is constantly active and shows genuine commitment to his
Clan and the DB as a whole.
Thorin returned to activity in CNS back in June when he was appointed as
Rolemaster for the second time. Thorin immediately impressed and reassured
his fellow Summit members he was the right choice for the job when he set
about firstly updating the Clan email lists and also looking into how to
improve and standardise the MSP, the result of which was an impressively
laid out document which was comprehensive and easy to understand.
It was during the GJW though that Thorin impressed his Clan by the amount
of effort he went into encouraging his fellow members to participate,
firstly by writing the introduction and help guide the runon, which his
Clan won, and also by sending out regular emails informing the Clan of
each event, when it was due to end and what they needed to do to
participate in it. Thorin was recognised by the excellent contribution he
made to CNS eventual second place by the Summit and Conclave awarding him
a Sapphire Blade, a medal that is rarely given within the Clan.
After the GJW when the position of Quaestor of Marka Ragnos became
available Thorin applied and was selected. His enthusiasm for this
position is excellent, setting out to improve activity and refine some of
the house's systems by choosing new BTLs and training them, especially by
choosing newer journeyman members ensuring continuity in his house's
future leadership, by working on the House's website and fiction, by
coming up with an impressive and imaginative list of competitions for his
members to participate in, and by his presence in emails, the conclave and
IRC.
Thorin is currently working on and has been the main driving force behind
the upcoming CNS House Feud, Return to the Phare System. He has written a
large amount of fictional introductions to this keeping up the interest
and enthusiasm amongst the clan for this event, has sought out older
members of the Clan and Brotherhood for advice and information to ensure
the fictional accuracy and quality of the feud, and is working hard
designing events to make it fun for all those who take part.
Therefore for all his efforts listed above and contributions to areas like
the SCL and MAA offices, Sith Warrior Derevko Niroth has earned the rank
of Sith Battlemaster.
Malisane de Ath
Quaestor of House Ludo Kressh.
For the past couple of months, Derevko has provided some ideas to improve
the House that has gotten the House up and moving and ready for our
upcoming House Feud, which he has been working hard on. With the creation
of his Trivia Competition, he has provided numerous opportunities to
provide medals for the newer members and crucial medals for people who may
need them for the Clan Powers. His ideas have been beneficial to the House
and it has been great to work with him. It is nice to work under someone
with such a high level of creativity and energy as him. I feel that Thorin
is more than proven himself for the rank of Sith Battlemaster.
Congratulations Thorin and it's about time you received this.
-Shikyo "Rurouni" Keibatsu
Aedile of House Marka Ragnos
Derev has been in a leadership role within Marka Ragnos for quite a long
time now. He has moved from the Rollmaster position into the Quaestor
position within the house. Although there have been many disagreements
with methods, no one can ever doubt the fact that Thorin intends to make
Naga Sadow the best clan it can be. From his very detailed rollmaster
reports, to his current work on the pending House Feud, Derev can be seen
working on various tasks diligently and continuing to strive to improve
processes. He is currently running a long-standing trivia contest as well,
encouraging many of our newer members to get active.
Based on all of these reasons, I would like to reccomend Derev for a
promotion.
Kat Pridemore, PCON of Naga Sadow
Thorin hates it when I write "funny" recommendations for people, so this
recommendation will be somewhat short. Thorin and I get into arguments
once in a while, but I think once we've resolved our differences, we come
out of it with a stronger understanding of one another and a stronger
relationship. I used to think Thorin was a huge jackass, but he's really
not. I mean, look at all of the older members in the Dark Brotherhood who
don't do anything but complain about how awesome things used to be in this
club. I hate those people, and they need to reevaluate what they're doing
here and just go away. We need more Thorins. Yeah, I know, I say that
about everybody in CNS, but it's true for Thorin especially. He has the
balls to directly engage the Dark Council in a thoughtful manner.
All of the recommendations above pretty much detail what Thorin has done
to deserve this promotion.
Thorin and I do get into arguments, but usually we come out of those
arguments with a better understanding of each other, and I think that's a
good thing. Thorin has been a Sith Warrior for a long, long time...I
don't know how that happened, but it's about time he was finally promoted.
