The GMRG is starting its own tournaments to be held in #gmrg. All of the DB is welcomed to participate, I just ask you to read the rules prior to playing.
Currently this is JK2 only, but if we get more JK1ers we'll be able to hold a JK1 tourney, and not another CF night. =)

Forgot to add this to the previous news post...the rules are slightly different then other Obelisk Tournaments. Please look them over before joining. Hosts get slightly annoyed having to repeat themselves over and ove again :P

This Tourney is open to all members of the Brotherhood who play Jedi Outcast. GMRGers will be required to participate in at least 2 of these weekly tournaments a month.
Matches will be decided by the host, and settings will be chosen before the time of the comp.
Teams:
For GMRG Members: Teams must be with another member of the Guard. You can NOT team up with a regular member of the Brotherhood.
For DB Members: You may team up with any member that is not in the GMRG, or is not already partnered with someone else.

First Place Team - Crescent w/ Diamond Star
Second Place Team - Crescent w/ Ruby Star

Well, well, looks like our coding-slut has been busy again... Comments... :-P
Anyways, coolies that we have more tourneys, now I'll need to find some teammate that isn't the GMRG, tho...
Wow. W00t for CyberGuy :) good job, well well, GMRG ownz >:)
yeck... news comments? Are you out of your mind?!... ah well.
Bah I think Yacks is releaved about this then :P
Heh... Did my idea about the comments :P
Ripped my coding out of the KCC site and converted it to ASP eh? :P
Not really. I just wrote it again. This one is more efficient than yours ;-)
Yeah right...
Beh...what about JK1? :P There's plenty of people who play JK1! :P
There really isn't many JK1ers anymore. In the GMRG their is only one, and I know of few others who play that when they have JK2 to play...
That's because you havn't made it very JK1 friendly, Shadow. There's a lotta JK1ers out there [such as Blade and myself, and I know you do, Shadow]...you just need to open the GMRG to them. Those with JK1 that know how to play well should also be expected to play JK1, even if it's just for DB-only competitions. I personally have never seen enough outside-DB competitions with other Clans to see any reason to restrict JK1 from gameplay. If you encourage it, they'll dust off their disks and play it.
I can see the random retorts now, so I'll answer them!
"You can't buy it anymore!" Yes, it's still out there for purchase. I just bought my girlfriend the game because she showed interest in learning 'how to do all that crazy stuff'.
"It's not a good enough game to be worth playing." It also takes a great deal of skill to play, especially at Full Force in Guns. It takes an amount of patience, also. Which is why I've seen so many JK1ers skip to JK2...from experience, JK2's easier to play [yes, I've played it...not on my own machine, though], but I enjoy JK1 better because of the challenge presented in mastering the game.
"The graphics suck." Get over it. :P
"The lightsabers arn't as fun in JK1 as they are in JK2." Yes, I know there's Saber elements, too...ehhh...I dunno what to tell you about this...I just play CO FF or CO NF, myself. Guns FF and NF are both extremely challenging in JK1, though.
The point I'm trying to make is that JK1 is still a good game...and that it's worth playing in competition. I'm sure there's better arguments than mine, but these are all I could think of for now. :T
The problem isnt with having no JK1ers. People who used to play JK1 have either moved on to JK2 and have stopped playing JK1....or they stopped playing JK1 a year or so ago.
When I first joined (2 years or so ago) barely anyone could be found to play JK1, so its less likely now.
And I have tried to get JK1ers into the GMRG. Blade decided to quit the GMRG to be "active" in his house.
If you have any good JK1-GMRGish ideas, let me know and I'll gladly work on them. Because, as you said, no outter-DB clans/whatever play JK1 now since JK2 came out.
