House Byss Quaestor Report

The chambers of Bant Komad reflected their owner perfectly: small, durable and with purpose. The room was situated on the outer rim of the fortified citadel of House Byss, on the planet of Eden. Around him, the chamber was decorated in whites, beiges and creams, all the furniture was minimalistic but comfortable, and the dimunitive Nimdan sat cross-legged, eyes closed in meditation.

What News, Jedi Bant?

ØExar Kun, especially House Ziost, is in grave danger with lack of members.

ØThe AWOL Check is complete: NOV Kael Malahk has been removed.

What of the House?

ØThere is talk that Exar Kun may be made into an Independent House rather than a full Clan, because of the member shortage. I do not like this idea, but support it as it may be the only way to keep Exar Kun alive, and once we have enough members, the Clan can be re-instated. Ironically, this is the same situation throughout the DB. Email CON Khan ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) with your thoughts. If it happens, I will become the TET of the Krath phyle of Exar Kun.

ØNOV Lugh Luanna has built the House Website and has agreed to stay on as webmaster with the help of Blade Dranal of Cestus of Tarentum.

ØWe have an egroup [Log in to view e-mail addresses] - that is for all members to use.

ØSignatures, Crests and Portraits are being found for all current and future Byss members. If you wish to find your own, check http://www.renderosity.com. Use them in official communications, and send them to myself for cataloguing, if you desire. NOV Lugh has also volunteered to create signature banners for anyone who wants them.

ØThe identity of House Byss has been made out as the spies, informants and information gatherers of the Dark Brotherhood. With this in mind, we can tailor our writings, beliefs and works to fit this unique flavour.

ØDont forget to CC me on all the work you submit to anyone, so I can track what youre doing.

What activities are there?

ØThe In Charatcer and Out Of Character Message boards are required to be submitted to by all members every week. The In Character board describes you characters activities for that week and the Out Of Character is for your thoughts and what you have been really doing. This will boost writing skill and Character development, and hopefully, loyalty. The link is http://www.chaoslogic.com/db/message_board/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=11. These are not being used enough! It is now mandatory to use them as the guidelines above state.

ØCON Khan is running a fiction competition. Write the story of how Alvaak removed itself from the thrall of Grand Admiral Ronin and became Clan Exar Kun in all its glory. If you dont know what happened, because you are new, please contact me and I shall summarise the main events. See the Exar Kun website for details.

ØWrite a story about the split of the DB from the EH from your characters perspective, entitled Exodus and submit it to KHP Alanna. Minimum of 2 pages, Arial 12pt font.

ØComic COMP 2003 Create a funny comic about something DB related. Submit to DGM Jac ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) by August 15th. Funniest entry wins.

ØHOUSE COMPETITION: Write a story or poem about hunting and tracking Bant Komad. Dont kill him yet, just track him. Minor scuffles are fine. Be reasonable, Bant is a very old Krath Epis, and not easy prey. Submit to Bant Komad ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) by 15th August. Two pages length, 12pt Arial for stories or one page 12pt for poems, minimum length, must be .doc, .txt or .rtf format. Winner receives a Cresent with Sapphire Star.

ØHOUSE COMPETITION: Create a history with as much detail as possible and submit it to me. A prize will be given for the best and so on, and this will also go towards promotions and future competitions.

ØHELP THE CON COMPETITION: Rewrite Khans history for him (http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/dbjedi/history.asp?ID=1473), correcting grammar and spelling and ironing it out. Hell reward you with his favour when looking at medals and promos ;-)

ØCLAN SYSTEM The Clan planetary system has been built by myself and Brenn already, in the earlier days of CEK. If you wish to see the details, please contact me.

Has anyone excelled or failed impressively?

ØDJK Brenn has been active this week, and has been present on the egroup, submitting a History, and starting a Run-on!

ØPRT Sinjin been inactive for this week.

ØJH Erryc Lassiter has been present on IRC, the message boards and the egroups, and has passed the Shadow Academy courses, submitted as the only person to the Bounty Hunter competition and earned himself a Crescent with Sapphire Sar!

ØPRT Lugh Luanna is currently building a been serving as webmaster for Byss, and has created graphic signatures for the House membership, as well as passing the Sith Studies, IRC and Mediation course at the Shadow Academy, being active on the message boards and egroups! For this he has been promoted to Protector!

ØNOV Bartleby has been submitted a history to his DB dossier and been promoted to Acolyte, but lacks any visible activity anywhere else. I am told he is a good person, but I wonder if I will ever see this to allow me to promote him?

ØNOZ Zion Krior has just joined us from the SA, but has already been promoted to Acolyte and has begun training with me on the message boards in combat!

ØNOV Maris Kren has joined us from Rogue, but has not been active as of yet.

ØNOV Fet'ai'narun has joined us from Rogue.

ØPRT Daviriv Rracall has joined us from Rogue and has been present on the egroups and message boards.

What are your thoughts?

ØI worry about Exar Kun being made a House. If this is to happen, then it will be repeated throughout the brotherhood because of the lack of members. In my opinion, it is better to remain structured by small than small and concentrated. However, if it will improve activity and help the DB, so be it.

ØI am currently changing employment, which is the reason Im less active than normal. I figure I should be back to full strength in another weeks time whilst I settle in there, but my communication response and presence shouldnt be affected, only my more frequent emails.

ØI am EXTREMELY impressed by the House this week!
