Dark dudes and dudettes,
Check out the Krath Monthly Topics below. Pretty cool this month. Not that they're always cool, just I'll shut up now before I dig myself into a hole. Sithies and Obbies are allowed to take part too, as always!
Read all of the crap at the bottom, because I do update it, even if you don't notice I do! :P
Just got back from a great weekend rock-climbing, hill-walking, canoeing and mountain biking around Keswick. Thats a UK place. No only am I in a great deal of pain and getting loads of cramps, but I've got sunburn as well. My Celtic skin doesn't take very well to bright light, just as much as a Mogwai. And I'm seeing as I'm just as cute as Gizmo too, maybe there is some Mogwai DNA in me somewhere.
As I come back from leave, so do most other people like Jac, CoFo, Mav and CyberGuy. Desmos has to be awkward and he's gone on leave, leaving Khrys in charge. All you Krathies don't annoy her too much.
This week is a good week. A new Mod has been released for Battlefield 1942 has been released based in the Star Wars universe. To be exact, it's based on Hoth, Tatooine, and Endor, which means there will be loads of snowmen to rip to pieces with your BlasTech DL-44 or SnowSpeeder, Sandpeople to batter with your speeder, and Ewoks to slaughter with your AT-ST. Well, hopefully. If you haven't tried the BF1942 game, it's wicked. I've got a Demo of it, and even the demo is addictive. If you have the full version, you can download the new shiny Star Wars patch from this site: http://www.swbattlefield.jolt.co.uk/
When you go on the site there is a whole load of other patches as well, so no matter what non-Star Wars based games you have, check it out and see if there are any MOD's there. There's one for UT2003, but I'm sure there are others if you look...
You only have until the 8th August to give your ideas for new names for the Clan Best of Order Awards. Go see the MB for full details, and let me know what you think. There will be competitions based on this, so try and make them good.
I've spoken to Krail on MSN Messenger and he's told me that he has now moved house he'll be able to send me the results for the Jedi Pick-Up line competition. Woo-hoo! Should be some more medals being dished out very soon.
I'm sending an email to all the other Consuls and DC'ers as well to make sure they give their members all the news and info about the CSP Invitational Competition. Hopefully they'll do stuff like this as well and we'll all be Jedi Knight superstars very soon.
Enough crap from me. I'm off to watch Pirates of the Caribbean on pirate DVD (quite fitting that it's pirate).
Crap that'll be at the bottom of all my reports:
IRC: should you not have an IRC program, let me know and I will tell you how to download it and install it and then run it so that you can speak to the rest of us happy little cyber-geeks. Channel #Scholae is now being used by us.
The official DB JK2 server up and running. How cool? The IP is 66.227.104.148, and the password is dbpimps. More information can be found at http://www.minos.net/~obelisk/servers.php but if you need any help connecting and stuff, I'll explain it to you.

Competitions:
CSP Invitational Competition.
Mage has launched a two tier competition for Jedi Knight and Jedi Outcast which will run for the whole of August, and seeing as Mage has done a runner, will be run by Lorad Desmos. There is a whole bundle of award to be passed out for this, so check all the details at http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/dbjedi/competitions.asp?ID=22 and get your JK and JO games installed, updated and ready for challenges.
The Jacomeister has posted the new Order details on DJB.org. If you haven't looked at them they can be found at this link: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/dbjedi/dgm/proposals/Proposal%20-%20Orders%20Overhaul.rtf . All the Consuls and DC'ers have been speaking about this constantly over the past couple of weeks, but the main change is that most DB competitions are not going to be Order specific. Yes, it may be FPS based and run by an Obbie, but that does not mean that Krathies and Sithites are not allowed to play. If you need any more details on what the full extent of the changes entail, are worried about the direction your Order is going in, then let me know and I will do all I can to clear all matters up.
Clan Best of Order Awards
As soon as the poll on the MB is concluded (8th August) there will be two competitions launched. Seeing as we have the Invitational Comp covering the Obbies, this one I based on Krathie stuff, though of course, is open to all Clan members. Something will be organised for the Sithies as soon as I can work out what Aklen wants to do. :P
What I will be asking for is job descriptions based on the names which are being decided upon in the MB thang. I'll also want a story about a day in the life, covering all three Awarded people in one job.
For those of you who don't know hat I mean, this is two separate pieces, each with it's own awards. Six medals between everyone. Go to it!
Inter-Club Training Event - Cool!
Mav has organised a training event which should become a regular event. Part of this will be the clubs we have allied with, the Star Vipers and the Rebel Squadrons being the main ones, but there are a few others too. What is going to happen is that on Saturday May 17th at 4pm EST (think that's 9pm GMT) in Undernet channel #Outerrim there will be loads of other people waiting to take part in every multiplayer Star Wars game you can think of. This is not supposed to be a competition, but is there for gaming and fun. Check out all the details at http://www.chaoslogic.com/db/message_board/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=314
Krath Monthly Topics:
Even through they are Krath MT's, you Sithies and Obbies can do them too, and it would be good to see you do them. This months topics are a little bit different from normal and the details on each are;
A Parody Contest. Write a parody of a song, changing the lyrics to something Dark Jedi-based. This is a fun contest, considering the majority of submissions will be comedic in nature. All submissions must include the 'based on' information (for instance 'Coruscant Woman' based on the song 'L.A. Woman' by The Doors). Songs can be submitted to Erryc ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) either as a .doc file, or if someone is particularly crafty as a sound file (.wav/.mp3).
With the DB settling into its new home on Antei, and many Clans creating new homeworlds, who else is out there?
This is something that will probably be developed a lot in the coming months, but to kick it off, I'd like you to create a race that is living out in the unknown regions. Give me physical/cultural/political descriptions and tell me a bit about their environment. Also, why have we not heard of them before? Thanks to KE Anshar Kahn for the idea for this KMT. Submissions to me in .doc or .txt([Log in to view e-mail addresses]).
Fight Nights!
A series of JK competition nights have been worked out by the Shadow dude, full details on the DJB.org news page so it's easier for you to read it from there instead of my adding it here. The best way to get into a fight (apart from stealing my alcamahol supplies) is to sit in the Obelisk channel on IRC (funnily called #Obelisk) and shout at people until they fight you.
