House Byss Quaestor Report
The chambers of Bant Komad reflected their owner perfectly: small, durable and with purpose. The room was situated on the outer rim of the fortified citadel of House Byss, on the planet of Eden. Around him, the chamber was decorated in whites, beiges and creams, all the furniture was minimalistic but comfortable, and the dimunitive Nimdan sat cross-legged, eyes closed in meditation.
Before the Epis, a small, spherical droid twittered and beeped. This was Bants journal, and as the time came, it spoke to him
What News, Jedi Bant?
ØHouse Ziost, is in grave danger with lack of members.
ØKhan is our house Envoy until someone else accepts the job.
ØThe Obelisk Ranks have been renamed.
ØThe Shadow Academy is going to change its course listings into medals to better allow them to be shown on ID lines.
ØClan Scholae Palatinae is running an invitational competition to anyone who wishes to play Obelisk or Sith game platforms. See the main DB page for details.
ØThe Murder Mystery League will be returning soon!
ØQualification battles for the ACC have been reduced to 2 plus a kill post, to speed up the process.
ØCON Khan is on leave for two weeks. Gilkane is in charge until he returns.
What of the House?
ØWe have an egroup [Log in to view e-mail addresses] - that is for all members to use.
ØSignatures, Crests and Portraits are being found for all current and future Byss members. If you wish to find your own, check http://www.renderosity.com. Use them in official communications, and send them to myself for cataloguing, if you desire. NOV Lugh has also volunteered to create signature banners for anyone who wants them.
ØThe identity of House Byss has been made out as the spies, informants and information gatherers of the Dark Brotherhood. With this in mind, we can tailor our writings, beliefs and works to fit this unique flavour.

What activities are there?
ØThe In Charatcer and Out Of Character Message boards are required to be submitted to by all members every week. The In Character board describes you characters activities for that week and the Out Of Character is for your thoughts and what you have been really doing. This will boost writing skill and Character development, and hopefully, loyalty. The link is http://www.chaoslogic.com/db/message_board/forum.asp?FORUM_ID=11. These are not being used enough! It is now mandatory to use them as the guidelines above state.
ØCON Khan is running a fiction competition. Write the story of how Alvaak removed itself from the thrall of Grand Admiral Ronin and became Clan Exar Kun in all its glory. If you dont know what happened, because you are new, please contact me and I shall summarise the main events. See the Exar Kun website for details.
ØKMTs: This months topic will be "Songs of Experience". The lore of the Dark Side has been passed down from Master to Student through song for millennia. What songs did your Master pass to you? Which ones will you pass to your students?
There is no set format for submissions, though I would like a minimum of 60 lines, to encourage you to develop a complex message. Think about what lessons should be passed, about the nature of the Dark Side, and what themes a Dark Jedi might commit to song, to educate the Journeymen.
Submissions will be judged primarily on quality of the lesson. Entries will automatically be entered into the Second Chance Competition for this month, that carries the possibility of earning an additional Star of Antei for submitting a work I deem appropriate for the Chronicle of Dark Souls.

ØHOUSE COMPETITION: Write a story or poem about hunting and tracking Bant Komad. Dont kill him yet, just track him. Minor scuffles are fine. Be reasonable, Bant is a very old Krath Epis, and not easy prey. Submit to Bant Komad ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]) by 15th August. Two pages length, 12pt Arial for stories or one page 12pt for poems, minimum length, must be .doc, .txt or .rtf format. Winner receives a Cresent with Sapphire Star.
ØHOUSE COMPETITION: Create a history with as much detail as possible and submit it to me. A prize will be given for the best and so on, and this will also go towards promotions and future competitions.
ØHOUSE COMPETITION: Write whatever comes to mind from the title, A Comedy of Errors, no minimum or maximum, any style, in .doc, .txt or .rtf format. Submit to me. Closing date: 13th September.
ØSECOND CHANCE COMPETITION: Resubmit your prophecy entry to Allana and tailor it to her needs, and youll receive a medal if she accepts!
ØEYES OF THE THRONE COMPETITION: Create a motto for the Eyes of the Throne, and submit it to Lugh for a nice shiny Crescent!
ØThere is a Run-On, Prophecy of the Destroyer, under way on our message boards, go post at it!
Has anyone excelled or failed impressively?
ØDJK Brenn has been active this week, and has been appointed Tetrarch of Exars Shadow, as well as submitting to the run on and designing a competition with Lugh.
ØPRT Sinjin been inactive for this week.
ØJH Erryc Lassiter has been present on the egroup and message boards, and has been promoted to Dark Jedi Knight, as well as becoming my second Apprentice!
ØPRT Lugh Luanna is serving as webmaster for Byss, and has been active in the run on and egroups, and has also been appointed the new Tetrarch of the Eyes of the Throne. He has also been taken as Errycs Apprentice!
ØNOV Bartleby has been inactive this week.
ØNOV Zion Krior has been training with me on the message boards in combat, as well as having been promoted to Acolyte!
ØNOV Maris Kren has been promoted to Acolyte!
ØKP Sirrius Black has joined us, and has already been active on the egroup and in the run on, and has been taken on as my third Apprentice!
What are your thoughts?
ØIve learned that Star Wars Galaxies will not reach England till December this year! Im very annoyed at this, but am already planning my character for it.
ØI will be going on leave as of Friday 5th September until Friday 12th September. Im jetting off to Spain for a holiday which I have avoided for the last six years. In my absence, Erryc will be in charge.
