**** All That Personal Stuff ****

I must say, I am more than impressed with the performance that the Buckeyes gave last saturday. I almost have some hope within me that we can go back to back on national championships. That would be sweet. I got another game this Saturday. It's an noon, so unfortunately I won't be at the meeting (don't expect me much this fall at the meetings [sorry Mav!]).

So I am very pleasedwith how the summer went. Not only did I manage to make a lot of money at work, but I feel that I have put forth a good amount of activiy as DGM (see next section) and I managed to pull off a 3.91 GPA! Yaaaay! My parents were pleased. They've been nagging on me for three years now to get better grades. I graduated High School with a 4.0 withour opening a book in all 4 years. That kinda cripled me in college, so this has been a long time coming. We'll see if I can keep it up.

If anyone is interested in what I did over the last few days, you can see 1/3 of the project in the website front end at http://www.lamtour4acure.com. It's not the best site I've ever designed, but it was good for a little more than an hour's work on the design. Most of the work i did went into the backend which dealt with some accounting and different things. fun stuff. Anyway -- enought about RL...

**** My performance as DGM ****

I am never one to be content with where I am and what I'm doing. I don't think it's in me to settle for second best, nor can I do anything but put forth 100% effort. However, I have found myself, in the wake of exams and a trip home, not putting as much into my DB role as normal. It's really depressing to me, because there is a lot riding on my back, and I just simply haven't had the time to do anything. Believe me, it's not a matter of me being a lazy ass and sitting around wasting time instead of working like many, many, many people do. I just run from class for smarts to work for cash-money to home for food to the gym for not being fat and then to home for the DB. Not to mention that I have a girlfriend and that work is consistantly finding a way into my home life. Kinda sucks.

Anyway -- enough complaining about how busy I am. It is all irrelevant as i will have a lot more time from here until class starts again. But the whole point behind this rant is as follows:

I deal with a lot of crap as DGM. A lot of people moaning about this or complaining about that. It's not that I hate dealing with it. I really don't mind it. I like hearing problems and helping work things out. However, there are some things that have gotten to the point where they are grating on me a bit. I just want you guys to be nice to one another. Don't be so damn stubborn that you end up fighting about something until you quit. Slow down, look at the other side of the argument, and try to comprimise. This club is built on the idea that we don't want people shoving crap down our throats, so don't do it to others.

I am going to work tonight to get caught up on a lot of mail. I will be on late having some updates with DC members and we'll get things back on track.
