Galeres Quaestor Report for October 25th, 2003

Syn Kaek was pissed. He had no time for these mundane House functions he was forced to carry out every week. He looked at the loads of paperwork on his desk; half of them marked “OHC” and the other half marked “Kaek.” It had taken him hours the night before to prepare reports for other institutions and tonight he had to take care of this crap. Oh well. He had to give his report anyway, too many rewards had come to members of the House this week. He gathered his notes and headed towards the main audience chamber of the new Galeres Compound.

Greetings Galeres! Kaek began as he ascended the stairs to the podium. I’ll make this quick since you all know I hate doing this as much as you hate listening to them.

Concerning news from the general Brotherhood,

Dinaari has won their feud with Kirleta. I don’t think any of us were surprised or upset by the results. He smiled

Once again we dominated the ICTE this week and our very own Aedile, Locust, took top honors.

Khobai is currently working on the systems manual for us although as of now, the Krath are taking care of our portion since we have much to be prepared for in the coming months.

Lastly, Combat Master Xizor has stepped down from his position. A new replacement will be found posthaste.

Kaek looked back up at the assembled masses who seemed as bored as he was.

Next in Clan News,

Very little has occurred. We have finally settled in to our new system and things are progressing well although I advise all of you to be careful around here since not all of the peripheral systems are fully functional yet.

Concerning the JO Ladder, I will be announcing results of Week 2 tonight and posting assignments for Week 3. I’d like to congratulate all those that played their matches. Good work.

Acolyte Gaunt left us to join Oriens Obscurum. We are extremely disappointed that the Acolyte has left us however we are somewhat pleased he chose to remain in Arcona.

The Mottos Competition is about to be over and I have a few submissions. I might bypass the whole voting process and just decide myself unless there is some sort of public outcry.

Tarax Kor was promoted to Acolyte quickly and Protector Xiphias was promoted to Guardian.

Oh and of course, Templar Locust was appointed Aedile for the time being.

Now onto the competitions. I have distributed a datapad with information relating to the competitions currently being run. Please refer to it:

“House Galeres Combat Ladder

The Ladder is underway. Play your matches! If I’m not around to judge, please try to record a demo so I can watch the match later and judge it then. Otherwise go out and have fun! Please follow the rules I set forth in my many emails. Round 2 will close tonight and Round 3 will begin as soon as possible

House Galeres Mottos

Please submit to me your suggestions for a House Motto and a Soulfire Brigade Motto. After I’ve received a few, we will vote on them. The winning entries will receive a DC. Simple competition that any of you should be able to participate in! I have received two submissions.

Tarax Kor was awarded a Cluster of Fire

I was awarded 14 Clusters of Fire

Locust was awarded 21 Clusters of Fire! Wow!

Gambit was awarded 13 Clusters of Fire

Beowulf was awarded 4 Clusters of Fire

Beowulf was awarded a Crescent with Amethyst Star

Gambit was awarded a Crescent with Sapphire Star

Both received their awards for winning the in the Tuesday Night Showdown

Xiphias was awarded a Dark Cross for helping the Justicar perfect the new bot

Locust was awarded a Star of Antei for being an excellent leader in the House and for dominating the ICTE for two weeks in a row with such high scores. Keep up the good work!

In the Shadow Academy this week,

Tarax Kor passed both his Test of Skill and his Obelisk Core to earn a promotion to Acolyte. Good work!

I also passed my ICQ Basics test

Lastly, promotions:

Tarax Kor was promoted from Apprentice to Acolyte over a period of a few days

Xiphias was promoted to Guardian for extended work towards the Clan and the DB.

Kaek closed his notes and looked up.

The Obelisk Prelate stepped down from the podium as the House members stood up in obedience. He marched out of the room and descended back into the lower levels of the compound.
