Keepers Competition Info!
Oh yeah.
I forgot one of the important parts about telling you about the Clan
Specific powers. As a sort of "mini" Clan comp that is going to be
running throughout the rest of the year, we're going to be detailing
the history behind the Clan Specifics.
I've been working with Oberst on ideas, but I want to flesh it out
with Clan participation. Everyon in Tarentum is creative, and you all
can take part in this, no matter how big or small the ideas.
Part One: The Keepers
In working with Oberst, the secrets of Necromantics are passed onto
us by the beings known only as "The Keepers." The actual history of
the Keepers themselves is still unknown, but what is know is that
they are beings said to "hold the secrets of life and death." Seven
Keepers survived into the modern day, but only two of them remain to
share the secrets of Necromantics with Tarentum. In this phase, I
want descriptions of a single Keeper from everyone. Take some time to
think up what a being who holds the very secrets of existance would
look like, would act like, etc. Your description of them can be as
basic as you like, or as detailed. I'll take the descriptions that we
use and tweak them to how we need, but you can earn the honor of
describing the Keepers. The best two descriptions will be the two
surviving Keepers, and I'll also take up to five others to describe
the other five, who were slaughtered by palpatine's Acolytes. More
upon the history of the Keepers as I create it, and I may even ask
for certain members to help, who prove to really get an idea for the
Keepers. As part of this portion of the comp, you can create, or find
images of the Keepers. If you create images of the Keepers, make sure
to note that, so I can make note of the artists and such for your
recognition. If you take an image from the net (even if you edit it),
make sure to note who the artist(s) is/are, so they can be credited,
as well.
Part Two: The Flight to Safety
The Keepers originally had hidden themselves away on a secret planet,
only known to a few of the original leaders of Tarentum. The Keepers
had minor talents as precognitives (seeing into the future), and
would not agree to join with Tarentum until the correct portents had
unfurled, part of which was separating from the Emperor's Hammer. The
original House leaders had a hidden project, one so secret, none but
the leaders themselves knew of. As tarentum Clanned, the Clan leaders
still know of this, even though they knew not why it was to happen.
The project was the construction of a sanctuary for the Keepers, a
place under the oceans of Yridia all their own, that would be their
final place of existance. From here, they would teach the secrets of
Necromantics to the leaders of tarentum, who would then pass on their
knowledge, and guide a new generation of Keepers. The task in this
portion of the comp is to design and describe the sanctuary of the
Keepers. You can be as descriptive as you like, but here, you get to
design where the Keepers, the bearers of the secrets of life and
death, would feel at home, and safe from harm. Again, images can be
added to this phase, with the notes about artist connotation as
before.
Part Three: Mission Creation
For Part Three, anyone willing, and able, to create SP missions for
any of the games (flying games or Jedi Knight games), the task is to
create any mission(s) relating to the journey of the Keepers from
their hidden planet to their new sanctuary on the bottom of the
oceans of Yridia II.
Part Four: Graphics
The Graphics portion includes the Graphics for Parts One and Two. For
anyone who just wants to make graphics that would relate to the look
of the Keepers, or the look of their sanctuary, but not write for the
first and second parts, you're more than welcome to. For this part of
the comp, you can also stretch your creativity, and make images about
anything relating to this comp. You can also take images from the
net, but remember to note the artist(s). See an image of someone who
looks like they're wielding the power of life and death, and want to
submit it? Go ahead. :) Want to create an image of someone using a
power that would be similar to Necromantics? We'd love to see it. An
image of what the powers of death would look like, or anything else?
It's all up to you.
Now, like I say, this comp is going to be on-going, because the Clan
Specifics have to be approved and such for this to count, but I'm
confident that they'll get approved, in some form or another. Plus,
this helps us to more full flesh out the history of Tarentum, and all
that has affected it. And this should be fun, too. So from now until
December 31st, 2003 at 11:59 PM EST, the Quest for the Keepers
begins. Feel free to work in teams, and most certainly feel free to
work with people from among the three Houses. I'd love to see members
of Tridens, Cestus and Gladius, or any combination thereof, working
together on this.
