Taldryan CON Report 12-21-03

Sort of a slow week activity-wise for the Clan, which is understandable with the holidays approaching, I know I’ve been busy! Mav is taking full advantage of being acting Grand Master and is keeping all the leadership of the DB busy with new ideas and projects! The part you’ll feel most is the second part of the Capital Gains competition, for which I’ll be sending out an email very soon!

DB News

-Mav has started a new DB-wide competition, in which each we can obtain some more ships for our fleet! BUT, for that to happen, there has to be a LOT of participation from all of you in the fiction part of the competition (I’m looking at you guys in Ektrosis! And Dinaari I know you like to write too). The second portion of this comp has started, so everyone start writing!!

-The Combat Master is looking for Judges/Trainers, so if you think you have what it takes, send him an application containing some information about yourself, and links to of your best battles (must be DJK or higher to be a Judge, KP or higher to be a trainer)

-Lots of the DC (the GM, DGM, CHAN, CM, etc) are on leave for the holidays, so be patient until after New Years with emails and stuff, they may be slow to respond! Mav is in charge while the GM and DGM are gone, so any urgent stuff should be sent to him.

-The GMRG is sponsoring a new “Skills of a Warrior” competition you can find here: www.starfleetacademy.net/soaw.html. Either JK, JO, or JA are usable, go check it out and start participating!

-The Combat Master has started a new type of cooperative ACC competition, the “Challenge of Ashvroth”. So if you’re a Learner or higher in the ACC, go read about the Competition here:

Then find a partner and start writing! The deadline has been extended to Jan 20th!

-The Krath Monthly Topics for December are “Antei Archeology” and “Sixty Minutes”, see djb.org for all the details.

-The ACC is running smoothly!! To go check it out and get started on participation, go to http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/dbjedi/acc/. I’m a member, so if you join you will be able to fight me!!

-There is an open Multiplayer competition every Tuesday in #gmrg from 2-10pm EST. All platforms are used and CFs will be awarded!!

-Every Thursday night in #obelisk there is the “Thursday Night Bash” multiplayer event, from 6-10pm EST, all platforms are accepted, CFs will be awarded!

-Interclub Training Nights will be held every Saturday, at 4pm, in #Outerrim, all multiplayer platforms are accepted, CFs will be awarded, get out there and represent Taldryan!

Taldryan News

-The biggest news this week is the merger of House Archanis into House Dinaari. Some of you (very few, if any actually) may remember the multi-order house system as it used to exist in the Brotherhood. This system produces excellent multi-order proficient leaders, and we are hoping that by combining them with Dinaari’s super-active members, the Archanis members will pick up their activity levels as well. Former Archanis Quaestor Crix “Uberman” Madine has been made Rollmaster of House Dinaari, until the Aedile position opens up, and then he will slip into that. Hyperion Squadron has been added as a Dinaari Battleteam. I would like to keep the Archanis name in use in the Clan somehow, since it has such a strong history in Taldryan, so if you have any ideas on how I could do that, email me!

-Well it has finally happened; the Clan Taldryan site has switched hosting! It can now be found at www.taldryan.org! It has been updated and there are some cool new features, with even more on the way, so check it out!

-Just a little encouragement guys…its break time for most people who have been in school, so try to get out and play in some of the Multiplayer competitions! I’m playing in an many of them as I can, so you can come out and play me in JO for easy CFs! So on Tuesdays/Thursdays/Saturdays, remember to go on IRC and play!!!

-It’s that time again, to announce two new members of the Cohors Praetoria! For the next two weeks, the two members will be…Sharad and Benevolent!! Sharad has worked his butt off on the Taldryan website, and Benevolent has been tearing up the multiplayer competitions, way to go guys!!! (and you can now see a list of the current and all former Cohor’s Praetoria members and how many terms they’ve served in the Consul’s Office on the Taldryan site!

-Don’t forget about the Dark Jedi Holiday Clan Competition! I only have one entry so far…so send me some more!! Here are the details:

“It’s getting to that time of year when people of most cultures have one Holiday or another. So that got me thinking, do Dark Jedi Knights have holidays? And if they do, what are they and how are they celebrated? So for this competition, you are to create a story, graphic, poem, or anything else you can use to depict a Dark Jedi Holiday. Make sure to include the Holidays name and how it is celebrated, along with any other information you would like. Creativity = bonus points!”

All submissions are due by January 4th!
