Woot. First report of the new year. I'd like to think of this year as "The year of Tarentum, during the great reign of our Lord, Firefox." I can just feel the energy in this Clan. You're all a great group, and I have the great privilidge of serving you as Consul. It's not an honor I take lightly, and I'd just like to make sure you all know, I'm proud to know you all, and I hope to one day be able to say that I know every member of this Clan as well as the next. I will strive for that, and hey, don't be afraid to send me an email and say, "Hey, you don't know me yet, but..." and just tell me a bit about yourself, and how is the best way to get a hold of you.
And now, onto the news! The biggest competition news, for Cestus, anyways, is the Rite of Supremacy. Yep, the ROS can be found on the web at:
http://www25.brinkster.com/darkforge/ObeliskROS.htm
The MP aspects of it can be found through IRC, in #bloodrites. For those of you who don't have IRC, there's a java applet on the DB site, located at:
http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/dbjedi/irc.asp
But you can also find a local client to download on your computer, called mIRC, at http://www.mirc.com, and there's a bunch of us who can help you get that loaded, and help you figure it out. I would encourage every Obelisk to play, seeing as how I've transferred Orders to be able to help out. Yep, no more Pontifex Sithie, it's now Primarch Sithie. Woot. I always wanted to be a Primarch, just never thought I could change Orders to be one. I guess those rank name changes were good, after all. ;)
Anyways, let's get out there, and whoop some booty! I'd like to personal thank, and honor one memember of Cestus so far, Shadow Warrior. Shadow Warrior personally scored 42 points so far, and has helped Tarentum to rise to the current score of 52 points! That's not bad, and we're not too far off from passing up Exar Kun, and even Satal Keto isn't far out of our reach. We can whop everybody, but Taldryan will be a challenge. But let's get out there, and stomp 'em.
I'll let Rekio mention the competition news in his report (hinthint Rekio, heh), and move onto some other stuff. We currently have a membership count of 66 in tarentum, and that's the biggest Clan in the DB. It's an impressive compliment, but not to me, or to any of the Summits, really. It's a compliment to you, that you've all chosen to be here, and to stay here. All of the Summits, especially myself, are stoked to have the opportunity to serve you, and help you accomplish your goals. If you're wondering what you can do to earn a promotion, email me, Rekio, or your Summit. We'll be glad to help you figure out what you need to do, or give you ideas for extra things to keep you active. I'll list the following people you can contact.

Let's see, stuff I need to mention...
Oh yeah. For Capital Gains, we found out that the ESC (Escort Carrier) didn't come with the full wing compliment. I talked to Mav, and offered an alternative for our ships, which he said he'd think about. I told him, I wouldn't ask him to do anything for us that he wouldn't for another Clan, but if he allows it, instead of the ESC, we'll have a Cap-killer (suggestion made by Rekio), in the form of a Bulk Cruiser that's loaded with some pretty nice weapons. As for the names, of both our new ships, and our fictional squadrons, we have the following name suggestions. I'd like final opinions from everyone, just because these are ours. Unless there are any major complaints, though, these will be the final names:
B/CRS Doomsday (named in honor of former Fleet Admiral Doomsday, first RO of the EH; suggestion made by Oberst)
TRANS Argos (named after the ship that bore Jason and the
Argonauts to find the fleece. The ship never failed the crew and
transported them safely to them and their cargo home; suggestion made by Oberst)
Squadron 1: Manta Squadron (suggestion by Sedroth, fits well with Hammerhead and Stingray)
Squadron 2: Seraphim Squadron (suggestion by li'l old me)
Squadron 3: Despoiler Squadron (suggestion by Ma'arkhan)
Squadron 4: Razorfin Squadron (suggestion by Sedroth)
Squadron 5: Sons of Tau (suggestion by me, in honor of Tau Squadron, which was, quite literally, the founders of House Tarentum)
Every Clan in the DB is going to be allocated fictional forces, but I decided, I liked the thought of naming them, and whatnot. And, should our fictional forces every be increased, we'll get to have a small naming comp for those, too.
House Summits, make sure Rekio and I know about the comps going on in your House, particularly so we can remember to make mention of them in our reports (which is why it's good to send House reports, and even remind us over IRC, or AIM, or whatnot). The reason I say make sure we remember is mostly so that, in case other people forget, they'll have a way to go back and look, which is another reason to make sure you're posting your reports on djb.org.
Anything else I've forgotten, please, don't hesitate to just call it out over the list, or to email me privately, and remind me. Anyone and everyone can always get a hold of me daily at [Log in to view e-mail addresses]. I check it at least 2 or 3 times a day, so you're guaranteed a response in no more than 24 hours, and often in 8-10, tops. I think I'll end it there for this week. Obelisk, let's get out there and whoop some trash in the ROS. Expect to see me out in it. :)
Let's rock this place, Tarentum.
