HLK News #9 - January 10th, 2004

  1. Captain Gains

This is perhaps the most important thing I want to talk about. Since I am obesssed with what DA Telaris "Mav" Cantor thinks of this clan, it'd be nice if we had good participation in this competition.

This is a writing competition that's very Sithy in origin. This is why it would be nice if we had some Sith participate in it. As far as I know, the only HLK member to submit a story is Muz Ashen, and I definately will participate. You can of course consult with me or anyone else in the clan if you're confused about anything (because apparently this has been an issue the last few days).

This competition is due January 12th, which gives you guys about a day and a half.

The details can be found here:

  1. Chaotic Vengeance Results

Yeah, so you guys probably got the email from Rai with detailed results.

1st: House Marka Ragnos with 41 total points

2nd: House Primus Goluud with 26 total points

3rd: House Ludo Kressh with 24 total points

If you divide the scores by the number of people in the house, we did pretty well. Hell, lemme do that calculation before you. I'm a Math major and I can count!

HMR: 41 points and 12 members = 3.4 points per member (after an AWOL check btw)

HPG: 26 points and 23 members = 1.1 points per member

HLK: 24 points and 8 members = 3.0 points per member (and we only had 7 members during the competition)

So, I don't think we did that bad. Either that, or I'm really good at manipulating statistics.

I'm very pleased with the status of the HLK run-on. While I wrote 70% of the thing, I'm pleased that the contributions by Tiger and Smitrock were equally high.

  1. New HLK Competition

Check it out:

Ignore the dates shown on that page. The actual deadline for submissions is January 31st, the end of the month. I think my competition is a great idea based on the HLK run-on, since it'll make you guys actually read the run-on.

  1. Medals

I earned all of the medals awarded to this house this week:

SO Manesh Sadow earned 4 DARK CROSSES, mainly for my work on the HLK run-on.

SO Manesh Sadow earned 2 CRESCENTS WITH AMETHYST STARS for Chaotic Vengeance stuff.

SO Manesh Sadow earned a CLUSTER OF FIRE for my Chaotic Vengeance JO matches.

I love earning medals, and I know you guys love it too.

  1. SA Courses Passed

I have a listing of SIX Shadow Academy courses passed by Muz Ashen:

-Sith Flight Studies I: ISET

-Dark Jedi Meditation

-MSN Messenger

-IRC Basics

-Sith Flight Studies II: ESET

-Sith Tactics

  1. Promotions

Because of all of those Shadow Academy promotions, and the criteria outlined in the Shadow Academy's Career Guide, Novice Muz Ashen has been promoted two times to Protector (PRT).

  1. Conclusion

All in all, a very eventful week. The big news of course comes from PRT Muz Ashen and myself. I'm really happy to have a new member who's a keeper.

So, now we look on to the next big competition, whatever that might be.
