Well this weeks report is going to be short and sweet since I am running alittle low on time but lets get the show on the road. Also if I forget to mention something like medals, promos, courses ect please let me know. Also if anyone is using a different email addy then the one they have stored on the DB site please go to the site and update your email addy it makes it alot easier to get ahold of ya. And lastly before I get on to the main report if anyone has ideas for comps that they would like to see please send me an email so I can get them setup for ya.

I have talked this over with Sithy while we where between QUA's and starting now each member of the phyle is going to be required to compete in one competiton or complete and pass on SA exam every 2 months to remain in the Phyle. Of course exceptions can be made to this but you must give me a reason why you can't complete these simple requirments. I mean doing one comp or one course in 2 months isn't much to ask of anyone especially considering that many of the comps and most exams can be done in less the 15 minutes. Also if you are planning on going LOA please send out an email letting me and your other leaders know.

There is a new DB wide Phyle comp starting up I wanted to gauge interest. So if you are interested in competing in this comp send me and email and let me know.

Title: Inter-phyle Whodunnit?

Specifics: An inter-phyle competition to assist the High Priestess and the Oracle in identifying a serial-killer.

The aim of the competition will be to compile a realistic investigation using the clues provided each week. The run-ons should not assume evidence that is not available, and should be in character - pointing the figure of suspicion at a senior member of the DB should be done with extreme care!

The competition will be judged based on quality and 'realism' of the run-ons. There will be bonus points for correctly identifying the perpertrator, but incorrect answers will still be rewarded if the investigation and reasoning was sound.

For this competition members are tasked with coming up with something that we can place at the entrance to the Asylum. Be it a statue, crest, or anything else. Be creative and have fun. Specifics: The Mystics armed with their trusty Nerf bats have cornered their proud QUA and are ready to have at him. Before a new day dawns the night will live in infamy as the night of a thousand nerfs. Members are to describe what happened on this infamous night. It is wide open so have fun and go crazy everything and anything goes so do your worst.

Title: Gladius Filk

Specifics: This competition, in two parts, will be the writing of a song to be used as the "official" and "unofficial" Gladius Anthem.

This will be done in two parts. One, for serious entries only. The second, for comical purposes. The winning serious entry will be the official anthem, while the winning comical entry will mostly be sung at bars and such.

Basically, take a song that you know, and change the words to fit the House. Simple, no?

Title: In the Shadows, Pt 1

Specifics: Someone or something has infiltrated the Gladius base. The participants shall write a short story around this, but leave it open-ended to start a run-on. They should describe what the initial actions of the infiltrator (leaving him/her/it unidentified) are and how it affects the House. The winning submission shall be used to start a run-on on the House MB in which the identity and motive of the infiltrator will be revealed.

The entry should be close to a page at minimum, but should not exceed 2 pages. Entries need to be in 12 pt. Font (TNR, Arial, or Courier)
