Behind the HRLD

Here's another glimpse at my personal hell. I know how much you all enjoy it.

My car broke Monday. I sat in the dark for about an hour and a half with no heat in freezing weather waiting for a tow truck. The heater in my car crapped out about two months ago - you know, just before that ARCTIC BLAST hit New York State. Finally arriving home I checked my resources and I just barely had enough money to fix what I believed would be some minor issue. I had to share my wife's car with her, which means I've had to be awake at 6 AM nearly all week long. I've been going to bed around 10 PM, which, for me, is a nightmare. Adding to this, my dogs started going crazy at about 2-3 AM all week. Sometime around 3 AM on Thursday I attempted to hop out of bed to try to calm them down when I SMASHED my right foot into the wall. I thought for sure I broke something. I missed work Thursday because I could barely walk. Fast forward to today. I called the mechanic to see what was up with my car. It seems a family friend talked to him about it, and the mechanic was surprised I didn't already know. I didn't like where that was going at all. My car was dead - well, it was broken beyond its worth. It would cost me far more than the car's value to fix it... and far more than I had.

So now I have to go car shopping. With no money. And a gimpy right foot. In negative 20 degree weather. Life... well... you know.
