DVD Update

Yes, it has been confirmed that the original trilogy will be released on DVD Sept 21. Some say the European release will be a little later - possibly a month later. Others just babble and drool at the possibility of finally seeing the saga on disc.

Multiplayer Update

I wanted to state this again, officially. LucasArts will be releasing TWO multiplayer games this [insert season here]. They've been slated for fall, but given LA's track record on horribly missing the release date (then delivering a so-so package... more on that later - maybe another report) is what leads me to believe they'll delay this til this time next year.

Now that I'm done trashing the big LA...

Star Wars Battlefront is essentially Battlefield 1942 witha Star Wars twist. Sure - you could always play Galactic Conquest, a SW mod for BF1942, but it's far from being finished. Granted it's here, now, and not nearly a year away...

Republic Commando is a squad-based 4 on 4 (or more) tactical FPS in the same line of SOCOM Navy Seals. Oddly enough it'll be on the PS2 and PC, and there are rumors of possible crossfire between the two platforms. You can check out an article I scanned here.
