House Cestus Report for 2-16-2004
Hey everyone. I'm really sorry about my report being so late, I'm getting setup for College and had to take care of some priorities in my life. I haven't done a whole hell of alot this past week as I've been extremely busy in real life. Not just with College though...participated in a Soul Calibur 2 Tournament at the local GameCrazy and was horribly beaten. Note to all: Don't sign up for a tournament that involves a game you've never played before. :P
A few important competitions are coming up, the most notable is the Sith Rite of Supremacy (which actually just started). "But we're Obelisk!" you might say. Yeah that's true, but any order can participate. If you own Tie-Fighter, X-Wing vs Tie-Fighter, X-Wing Alliance, or Allegiance, you can help our Sith House Tridens out by participating and earning some points. You can also participate in the Antei Combat Center, or try your hand at making a competition-related image to help out. Tridens are currently the First Sith House in the Dark Brotherhood, and it'd be great if they could gain that title again. Details are below.

A competition between the Sith Houses of the Brotherhood (although all orders can participate in this one, doesn't make much sense to me but...:P) to determine which holds the title of 1'st House, 2'nd House, and 3'rd House of the Sith Order. Currently our neighboring House Tridens hold the title of 1'st House of the Sith, and would like to keep it. Any help from any of you would be greatly appreciated. The Interclub Training Event is an on-going, never ending activity that anyone can participate in. Every Saturday, members of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, Rebel Squadrons, and many other clubs meet up on IRC to play Multiplayer matches and earn CF's (Cluster of Fire)! Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, X-Wing VS Tie-Fighter, X-Wing Alliance are all supported platforms, and any member of any order can play any platform that they wish! The competition takes place every Saturday, at 4 PM EST on an Undernet IRC server in the channel #OuterRim. Note: Sith War Matches can be played and counted in ICTE matches!
There's a poll on the Dark Brotherhood website on which part of the USA the DB Jedi Academy Server should be located. East Coast, West Coast, Central? Login to the DB site, visit the Dark Jedi Polling Center, and cast your vote!
Lucasarts are currently working on two upcoming SW Games for the PC and Consoles. The first is Star Wars: Battlefront, which is a Battlefield 1942 esque-Star Wars Multiplayer experience. If you've never played Battlefield 1942, it's a great MP game where you can play the role of an Infantry Soldier, Pilot, Part of a Ship Crew, Paratrooper, almost anything. Mix this into a Star Wars Experience and it sounds like we've got a great upcoming game.
The other game is Star Wars: Republic Commando. This game takes place between Episode 2 and Episode 3, during the Clone Wars. You take on the role of an elite Republic Commando (Star Wars version of a Navy SEAL) and command a Squad of Troopers through dark, real, and intense First Person Shooter Missions. Multiplayer aspects are included, the standards being Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag. It sounds alot like a mix of SOCOM-USNavySEALS, Dark Forces, and Rainbow Six. It's being developed using the Unreal Tournament 2003 engine. Sounds very promising.
Yep, I couldn't believe it either when I first heard the news seeing how George Lucas said the original Trilogy wouldn't be on DVD until Episode 3 was released, but looks like he's changed his mind. The original Star Wars Trilogy (Episodes IV, V, and VI) are coming to DVD this September. It's a 4 disc set, with a ton of special features. Figured I would spread the word. :)
Okay...I haven't seen any of you on IRC, or heard from you via e-mail in quite awhile. Are you guys busy with other things? Do you not have an interest in the DB anymore? I'd really like to know. As Quaestor it's my responsibility to make sure the House is vibrant, active, and fun, but I can't do that without you guys and your input. My e-mail is [Log in to view e-mail addresses], and I'd like each of you to contact me personally by email and tell me what you'd like to see integrated into the House/DB to make it into a more fun and friendly atmosphere. Or you can just e-mail me to say hi, it doesn't really matter. But I'd like each of you to contact me so I know your here and still interested. If you don't I'll probably come to the conclusion that you have no interest in the Dark Brotherhood anymore and mark you as AWOL. So contact me, please, so I know you're still around. Thanks.
It's now over, and we're still waiting for the results. Former Obelisk High Commander Khobai is currently marking them, and I've recieved word that they should be released soon. Anyone who participated will recieve a reward once the results are released. There's a good chance we came in 1'st. :)
The position is STILL open for applications. I would really like to hire someone inhouse for this position but if I don't recieve applications I'll have to bring in someone from a differnet House to lead the Brigade. I don't really want to do that, so if you're an active member of the Brotherhood and feel you'd be right for the job, e-mail your application to me.
