Clan Arcona Report #20 for week ending 21/03/04##
INTRODUCTION:
I hope you all like the look of the new Clan report. All required data is now auto-compiled for me, so no time consuming stuff anymore! JaM3z asked me to do some fancy images too. These are stored on ym webspace online, so should load upo when you open this report in your browser. Any problems, let me know!
THE SITH WAR: The Sith War is over and I want to thank everyone who worked so damned haerd during this event. We can all learn a lot from the guts and determination that you guys exemplified. The House summit have awarded those who worked hard, but unfortunately my auto-generated report (thanks JaM3z!) will only take data 22/03 onwards - but you guys know who you are and I thank you for your devotion. For those of you who HAVEN'T been blessed enough to se our battle plan entry, look here. Turn your speakers up and enjoy!!! Results should be out this weekend!!!
HOUSE QEL-DROMA PHYLE WAR:
It's been on the cards for a long time. We had a Clan Feud, then the Krath Murders and even capital Gains have held HQD back. But now it has arrived and is ready to rock! The Phyle Wars are here (for the members of HQD only may I add)! I look forward to the running of this event. It will be good for the House, it's members and our summit. Best of luck everyone!
FAMILY SYSTEMS IN ARCONA:
Like everything in this life, there are thins that work and thinsg that don't.
There are thsoe who create and those who destroy. This applies specifically
to the families that are slowly growing within the Dark Brotherhood. I can
think of two families who have exemplified the positive nature that families
can create. The Entar's and the Rokir's have produced excellent work for the
Clan, they conduct themselves well and are generally liked and respected by
their peers. There is another family which has recently been disgraced - the
Tangva. This family is reeking of sh!t. Cheating in the Shadow Academy is
the lowest of the low. I tried it myself when I was a NOV under HM Kumba and
I was demoted back to APP. At the time I didn't think anything of it. Later
I became the Head Master and realised how crappy it is when people cheat at
what you're trying to create as an educational and helpful foundation. So
you can see that I've been at both ends of the spectrum on this.
For this reason, I am asking all members of the Tang
va within Arcona to denounce
their ties with their families. Their is NOTHING that the Tang`va can offer
you that fellow Arconan's won't. If you will NOT denounce your affiliations,
I cannot MAKE you leave Arcona, but I woudlk request you transfer out and
join a Clan who will tolerate your weaknesses. Arcona will not implode through
family rivalries, it will not be damaged, nor will innocent bystander e dragged
down with affiliations. These are the reasons for my actions. All questions
and concerns can be directed towards [Log in to view e-mail addresses]. I have voiced my concerns to both the Deputy Grand Master and
the Justicar, so they are aware of this report posting.
The LSS/CF/Cr systems have all changed. See the Chancellors news post for further details, the DSC will be updated soon.
CoG Halcyon is looking for some skilled JA players to train n00bs. [Log in to view e-mail addresses] if you think you can help.
CM Gryffon is working on some new ACC Judge criteria. Also look forward to some new ACC Clan wide competitions!
Cyris Oscura has returned to work alongside me in the Herald's oofice. His new project will be great so keep an eye out for his results!
Justicar Keirdagh Taldrya Cantor found GRD Tiberius guilty of cheating in the SA. Let this be a warning for you all.
There is a new JO server here: 82.208.136.26 and the password is YMCA.
The ACC Force powers have been updated. Go check to see what you can and can't do!

Head Count
<table border="0" width="95%"> <tr> <td colspan="2">In the Shadow Academy buildings, there is one corridor that every student will have to pass on the way to graduation. It is informally dubbed the walk of shame because it is lined with the heads of those who have, for some reason or another, ended their career in the Brotherhood prematurely and generally in a violent way. Under each head is a plaque designating the name of the failed, the date and the reason of death.
There are of course common examples like the mostly undamaged, just slightly
soiled head marked "inattentive in a lightsaber duel" or the transparent
jar of red-grey pulp marked "fatal navigation error". However, in between
these, there are some real gems of an unusual nature. After all, people
can expire in many ways.
Your task is to describe and label at least five such heads. You may do
the description in words or as a graphic, but if graphic, do not provide
images of extreme gore. If it can be shown on national TV at prime time,
it's okay. You may do more than five heads, but all of them must come
in one submission.
Entries go by mail to the Headmaster of course.</td>

Minimum: 3 pages.
Story from a Master (narrator in 1st person)

Mage's Sunday Special

1) The platform used will be Jedi Academy.
2) Competitors will have approximately 1.5 hours to play as many 10-kill
matches as they can. These matches will be awarded CF's.
3) Based on the score breakdowns (+1/win, -1/loss, 0/tie), an elimination
tournament bracket will be created (top vs. bottom, next down vs. next
up, etc.). Each tournament match win will also be worth a CF.
4) The 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place individuals at the end of the tournament
(winner, runner-up, and semi-finalist highest initial score) will receive
the appropriate Crescents (Diamond, Ruby, Amethyst).
This event will be run on a weekly basis, beginning at the host's choice

Judging is by number of correct entries, ties broken by the number of

Skills of a Warrior
<table border="0" width="95%"> <tr> <td colspan="2">I was standing in the middle of the deactivated battle hall, my Royal Guard trainer in front of me, scowling at me. N'Shadd, a Twi-Lek halfcast, always had this air about him, seemingly full of disapproval no matter what you did to try to please him - or yourself. I had no idea where my usual trainer was today, but I sure hoped the training session would be over already. Little did I know that this would be the day my training in the GMRG would change completely.
"So you think you got better?" he finally addressed me. "You think you
are finally worth to be in the Guard?"
I didn't reply, knowing full well he was mainly talking to hear himself
talk.
"Well, we'll see about that," he continued. "But I have no doubts that
you will fail. We'll first check what you have learned until now." He
must have given a mental command, for the hall flickered to life with
the familiar holographic images of Bespin Streets, which had been one
of our main training areas. As usual, N'Shadd was out of my sight, as
the hall positioned us in different places. My saber came to life immediately,
knowing very well that the man would not spare me a bit of trouble and
would enjoy destroying me totally. I had heard the stories of him killing
people 20 times over before he allowed them out of the halls.
Today, I had more luck. I even managed to kill him a few times, and in
the end he won only by one kill. But instead of leaving it at that, another
familiar scenario flickered into existence. The arena we'd dubbed Battleground
Jedi. I was actually much more familiar with this one, although I had
not fought much here lately. This was probably the reason why he did not
finish me off completely in this place, either. But he did not give up.
Intent on proving my inadequacy, he called up a scenario known as Tower
of the Jedi, then another one set inside the destroyed Death Star and
yet another one on board of a Star Destroyer. The latter two I had been
to before, but I was not so used to them, so he won by a bigger score.
I was completely drained when we were finally done. I had fought multiple
sessions before, but I had never had to change scenarios so quickly. I
noticed N'Shadd staring at me thoughtfully. "Just what I feared," he said,
deep in thoughts. "Much promise, but it has been allowed to stay dormant
too long. Your skill is limited to a few scenarios, and the less you know
them, the worse your battle. But be aware that, in the real life out there,
when you fight for us, for yourself, the scenario will be new in the majorities
of cases. Due to this, from now on, you will fight several different scenarios
a week. From duel to team fights - everything will be new to you. This
way you will learn a lot faster and your skill will bring more honor to
the Brotherhood."
Objective - The Brotherhood and the GMRG specifically need to be skilled
in all styles of saber fight and ready and able to battle in all possible
scenarios. Until now, the variation in training has been lacking, but
this will now change.
Each week, there will be 3 or 4 featured custom maps in JK, JO and JA,
at least one duel and one FFA map among those. CTF and Team FFA will be
encouraged as well.
For each win, you will get a CF as in all approved competitions. You will
need to send a screenshot of the game though so you can prove that you
have played on one of the required maps. This does not need to be a shot
of the results, but both players will have to send one.
For each game, winning or losing, you will get points awarded. A game
is 10,6,4,3,2,1 points for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc game on a map. A new
set of maps is uploaded every week, but you can still play the same set
of maps for two weeks. This is to acocunt for download difficulties and
other issues. Also, those with slow connections may get a cd of all the
maps if they are willing to play for shipping and handling, from Arania
Points will not be kept seperate for the different platforms, even if
this might give a slight advantage to those having more than one of the
games. For the people really needing more maps to chose from for their
platforms, there will be bonus maps that only count if there have been
at least 3 games for all the other maps.
Note that in case you are on a slow connection and the featured map is
big, aka you won't be able to DL it, you will be allowed to play the bonus
level instead, but this has to be noted before you play. Your opponent
can claim bonus points for such games even if he has not finished playing
the other levels before.
Every 500 games, the score resets and the top 3 in points get crescents.
This is both to encourage play and to give newbies in the training a better
chance. Thx to Kaiann for suggesting this.
Results with screenshots (PLEASE ZIP THEM) need to go to the CoG and Arania.
Arania will keep the SoaW site updated.

I would once again like to wish all HQD Phyle War participants the best of luck. Rivalries are stiring up activity which is good amongst the Phyles and I hope you produce some good work for the event organisers to judge. I look forward to the Sith War results which have been delayed until this weeked for release. SHW Goatham did an amazing job with the event! It'll be between us and Tarentum, so fingers/toes/leku's crossed.... :P
