First of all I have to thank GM Firefox for choosing me as Obelisk High Commander. I am truly humbled, honoured, and stoked (I think I've catered to all vernacular palates there) to join the Dark Council at the head of the Order.
With the announcement of Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy recently, and its slated Fall 2003 release, we will soon be entering an exciting time for the Obelisk Order and I'm thrilled to take up the reigns as we head into the future.
Now, onto business. While I settle into the job, I would like anyone who has any ideas, plans, or just general comments on the Order to email me ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]). This would be much appreciated.
On a related note, anyone who has an idea for a tournament or league (be it an old favourite or a totally original idea) they'd like to see implemented should email me with a preliminary write-up of the competition's nature and rules. For example, OBM Gryffon has been planning a Capture The Flag league and OBL J'Rai put forth a suggestion for a Hydroball league some time ago. People can run/host their own tournaments with the OHC's Big Rubber Stamp of Approval, but I'll also accept suggestions dumped onto me for organisation :)
I know that multiplayer activity has suffered a lot recently, with most people losing interest after the novelty of "CF nights" wore off. To rectify this I will be organising more interesting, Obelisk-focused (though open to any Sith or Krath with the games, of course) competitions which will hopefully pique the interest of the Order. As these events begin to take off, the regular comps will be shifted and merged into melee nights with a broader range of appeal for pilots and soldiers alike, similar to what we had before DB participation was withdrawn from #ehcoc. This has been in the works for some time but due to the GJW and other issues, multiplayer competitions were pushed aside.
That's all I have to say at this moment (I won't pull a Jac :P), other than that I look forward to implementing and experimenting with some exciting changes and having a lot of fun with the Obelisk Order in the near future!
P.S. My congratulations to the other two recent DC appointees, CHAN Camile and DGM Hades!
P.P.S. Almost forgot :O Big hugs to the folks who recommended me for this spot, and those who made me believe I was worthy of it. You and I know who you are :)

Oh, it was no problem...What's that you say? We've never spoken? Ah, well. I'm sure I thought about you taking the job at some point...maybe... :P
Anyways, amny congrats, you were a great PCON for the day or so you were there. :)
Congrats, Khaen. Do better than Khaland.
On a different note - why hasn't this spot been opened to the public? Why hasn't CHAN or DGM?
To me, this looks like the old "appoint-old-friends"-tactic which got the DB into the delemma we currently are in.
Think about this.
Camile was the only replacement for CHAN. Despite the fact Firefox and I no longer agree with one another, he had the decency to respect my choice of a successor. Well, I shouldn't say we no longer agree because we both agreed that when or if I left office, we were not going to let some antithesis of myself come into CHAN and completely undo the work I had done.
As for DGM, that position is often chosen and open for applications. In some ways, DGM is glorified Praetor insofar that the DGM is the GM's assistant. Therefore, the DGM must be someone that the GM gets along with, and that is most often a friend.
Khaen was also the best choice for OHC. I worked with him during my time as Chancellor, and he has been instrumental in setting up the Obelisk MP competitions, as well as a few other things. While these positions were not open to applications, I think you will not be displeased with the people in them.
Im a ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost, ghost =P
Congratz again to all who got positions =) Best of luck to ya.
Congratulations, Khaen. I know I mentioned your name at least once when Firefox asked who I thought could do the job... ;)
Mike, I'm sure FireFox had some legitimate reasons for not opening applications to the public. Mainly to save unqualified people like you the time and energy of applying. Think of it as a favor from our GM.
Mike unqualified?? Doh...
starts to cry
Man I told myself I wouldn't cry during this. Man well better go and push Gidda into new empty PCON position. Here Sithy, Sithy. But really Khaen when you told me you were gonna try for this position I wasn't really suprised and even less that you got it. You are the most capable person for the job and I can't wait to see what you'll ideas bring to the DB. I await to fight the new OHC in the comps too : ). Oh, ya congrats to all the others.
