[ <font color="#FFD700"> State of the Order</font>> <font color="#FFFAFA"> I decided that, in this report, I want to talk about what the Sith can do in the Dark Brotherhood. The Sith were, at one point, an Order of pilots and officers, when this Order was little more than a clone of the Tie Corps. At that point, we could afford to say we were pilots, enhanced by our Dark Side prowess, and doom to our enemies who dared soar the night skies, and dark realms of space. Times change, and the further we go on, the more I want everyone to realize, the Sith are not pilots, but throughout the history of the Order, they have been similar to dark princes, and officers, in some respects. The Sith do not have to limit themselves to being pilots, or to having the old flying games. There is so much more that you can be, and that we will be.
In ancient times, when there was the Sith race, the Sith were warriors, sorcerers, masters and Lords. I want people to start building themselves back up according to these ancient stereotypes, not the ones set forth from inaccuracy. Some Sith fly, yes, because they are conquerors, and they hear the call of battle in their ears; for these Sith, the path of the warrior is theirs. Their paths sometimes, but not often, cross those of the Obelisk. However, the two Orders seek battle on different playing fields. Other Sith hear the call of the Dark Side, and practice their arts, bending others to their dominant will, and creating horrific creatures of Dark Side power. Theirs is not the path of the Krath, yet there are similarities. Yet, where the Sith are raw, and untamed, the Krath are refined, manipulative, and subtle. For those who desire control, and power, the paths of masters and Lords are theirs. Yet, the Sith are not alone in this path, for leadership calls to the Krath andObelisk, as it calls to all.
And beyond those fictional types, there are a great variety of games open to the Dark Brotherhood. Not only are there flying games, such as TIE, X-Wing vs. Tie Fighter, X-Wing Alliance, and now <a href="http://www.freeallegiance.org">Allegiance</a>, but there are also Jedi Knight, Jedi Outcast, and Jedi Academy. We also have Battlefront, Republic Commando is on the way, and we also have other SP games that we can play, simply for pleasure. There is Knights of the Old Republic, with its sequel "The Sith Lords" coming out either Christmas time, or early next year (depending on where you are). We even still have people who would likely play Galactic Battlegrounds, if more people were interested in a few games. There's many options open to you, and if nothing else, you can always find the old games at <a href="http://www.lucasarts.com/products/">The Official Lucas Arts website</a>.
Just remember, the Sith Order is, and always can be, so much more than the steretypes placed upon it. I've already found out where the old stereotype is being perpetuated (the Shadow Academy), and I'm currently working on a rewrite of some of the material (I need to send it to lannie and Shai for their thoughts) so that none of the Orders are held back, and so that the Sith do not lose people because they do not wish to be pilots, or have TIE. Many, many more options are open unto this Order, and to everyone. I hope you all keep that in mind, and continue to enjoy yourselves

<a name="#recog"><p align="Left"><font color="#FFD700"> The Sith Order recognizes...</font>> <font color="#FFFAFA"> I'd like to recognize something that Syn Kaek did for me, and I'll explain why. I asked Syn to take on the responsibilities of emailing the Order, to find out who is still here, who wants to be a part, and who is interested in rising through the ranks, and being successful. Subject-titled "A Call to Arms," we've had a few good responses to that email, and I believe more are coming in (cough respond to Kae's email cough :P). I think there are still a great many people who love this Order, who see its potential, and who want to respond with potential of their own. If you want to be a part of this Order's revival, get in touch with me. We want to make sure we have an active, wide variety of people, whose skills aren't limited to the former stereotypes. Even the people who were around for the times when the Sith were pilots are capable writers, and possess some of the other games. So I'd like to recognize Syn for that, and I always want to use this as a shameless plug. Respond to that email! :P

<a name="#ssbc"><p align="Left"><font color="#FFD700"> Sith Site/Battle Compendium</font>> <font color="#FFFAFA"> Slightly in limbo. Mejas has done a layout for us, but Rekio has had some ideas, and I found some other images, that Mejas is going to try and work in, and make the site layout even better. As for the Compendium, that's being worked on, and as I said just a bit ago, we're hoping to have at least an HTML link somewhere on djb.com soon.

<a name="#sific"><p align="Left"><font color="#FFD700"> Sith in Fiction</font>> <font color="#FFFAFA"> C&P'd from last week's report, for ease and detail. Read on:
The Sith History in the DSC is another project that will eventually get started, and the historical figures of the Order will be changed, or added to. I'd like to work a bit more on fictionalizing the original Dark Lords of the Sith, those Jedi who fell away from the Order, and enslaved the Sith race. This still is a major part of the Order's history, since it goes back to when the Sith were a race, where our foundations lay. I'm going to be putting out a comp for a period of three months, starting today. Anyone who wishes to participate, I want you to write a description, and brief history, of any of the Dark Lords prior to Marka Ragnos. Include pictures if you wish, also.
The best entries will become part of the line of Dark Lords who will be added to the DSC, and who will become part our our great lineage. Members of the Sith Order, I really encourage you to participate in this, but this is open to everyone. Obelisk and Krath, I know you like to write as well, so this is a chance to have your own influence placed upon the Sith Order. This competition will run until January 31st, 11:59 PM EST, so that everyone has ample time, and so that you can participate in what competitions come along from your Clans, or elsewhere.

<a name="#comps"><p align="Left"><font color="#FFD700"> Competitions</font>> <font color="#FFFAFA"> Weekly competitions are still going, of course, in #gmrg on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you haven't yet visited the Undernet, go download mIRC from </font></p></a><a href="http://www.mirc.com">http://www.mirc.com</a>, and come join us. mIRC is a free download, and can be used pretty much by anyone. We also have the ICTE every Saturday in #outerrim, and those who qualify in any of these events can play in the bi-weekly Sunday Tournaments, wherein you'll compete for Tournament Points that can go to purchase anything from this list: <a href="http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/message_board/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2557">http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/message_board/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2557</a>.
Also, as you may have noticed just above, I'm also putting out a "Sith Lords Creation" comp (better name to be added soon). If you want to add your creativity to the history of the Sith, get inspired, and submit something to <a href="mailto:shw@darkjedibrotherhood.com?subject=Sith Lords Creation">[Log in to view e-mail addresses]</a>. I'd also like to mention that Lannie has the KMTs going on every months, and I'm still going to offer up incentives to get involved in those topics, and "Beat the Krath." For any Sith or Obelisk who places in the Top Three, you'll earn a Dark Cross, in addition to what Lannie rewards you for your entry. Should all three top placings be taken by Sith and/or Obelisk, you'll all earn Stars of Antei. So make sure to get out and write, and be prepared to do alot more than just wait for games. Everyone should want to be a part of what the DB is fictionally, too.

<a name="#misc"><p align="Left"><font color="#FFD700"> Miscellaneous</font>> <font color="#FFFAFA"> With the Battlefront patch being out, and I can finally get on the damned server again, I'm going to be a lot more active when it comes to Battlefront. Also, after talking yesterday with the owner of Primary Target, who provides the server, they're going to be uploading JO and JA to it. That'll mean, whenever we need to, the server can be switched from BF, to JO or JA. I'm not quite certain how well the server would/will do by running any of them simultaneously, but we'll check about that, too.

<a name="#conc"><p align="Left"><font color="#FFD700"> Conclusion</font>> <font color="#FFFAFA"> In conclusion, as I believe I've said before, the Sith Order is so much more than what some people make it out to be. Take some time, figure out where your character fits into the grand scheme of things, and then run with it. We shouldn't be limiting ourselves to the old games, nor should we restrict ourselves from events like fiction writing, and taking part in the ACC, as well. Make sure to be a part of the Order. This does include working with your own Clan and House Summits, but also be a part of everyone else. Get on IRC, game with some of the people, and submit to comps. There's a lot of competitions available, and I know several, if not all of the Clans have, or will have great competitions in effect soon. There's so much to do, and so many options available to us. I want to make sure that we all take advantage of them, and that we continue to make this Order, and the Brotherhood, a success.
See you at the ICTE, and remember to get qualified; the bi-weekly Tournament is tomorrow!

I daresay Trev's mentioned this already, though if not, the Eighth Dark Lord of the Sith is considered to be Urias Orian in DB fiction. It's built into the history of the Orian System. He's also linked somewhat to Okemi, who we all know and hate, and Simus, who was the Ludo Kressh to Marka Ragnos' Naga Sadow.
1) I don't know for certain if Trev has mentioned this.
2) Upon reading this, Trev mentioned to me that he could enter Urias Orian.
3) There's more than just them. I'm talking about creating ALL of the former Dark Lords. Everybody should give it a shot, and see what we can all create.
