Taldryan Consul Report 12-7-04Report # 82

Well it’s that time of year again…when most of the DB goes into “winter break hibernation” as I call it. For most people in school (including me), final projects and exams are due, and everyone is busy preparing for Christmas or whatever holiday they celebrate. So this is generally a pretty low-activity month in the DB, but I’d love to see Tal keep participating in things (and this is also an easy time to place in competitions because of the decreased participation). Ok, report now!

Clan Taldryan News

-My clan competition, “Taldryan Website Madness!” was started last Wednesday and it will end tomorrow (Dec 10). The questions are still posted on the Taldryan website (just scroll down a bit on the news page) so you can still participate! Twelve people have participate thus far, and remember if you get 90% correct you are guaranteed a medal!

-DGM Mav officially announced what ships all the Clans get as our reward for GJW participation, so now I can tell you all! Here is what we got:

1 Modified Dreadnaught Heavy Cruiser / Assault Frigate (A/FRG)

1 Corellian Engineering Corporation Gunship (GSP)

2 Vibre-Class Assault Cruisers (VAC)

You may or may not know what these ships are. If you want you could look them up in the unofficial Star Wars encyclopedia (http://www1.theforce.net/cuswe/), or just email me and I can send you the official d20 description. Once again great job to everyone who participated in the GJW, you earned us enough points to get 4 ships!

-These ships will be added to the Order of Battle soon. However they will all need names and background stories (how we got them). So I will design two competitions for everyone to participate in to help me out with this, more details will be sent in a future email.

-I am going to start working on Clan “Guidelines” for behavior, sort of a short guide on how Taldryan members are expected to behave as the dominant members of the DB both with their own clan members and members from other clans. Hopefully I’ll have it completed after Christmas.

-Just a quick reminder of currently running competitions and their deadlines: Taldryan Website Madness (Dec 10), Dark Jedi Christmas Wishes (Dec 17), Character Development (Dec 19), December Monthly Topics (Dec 31), Hit Lists (Feb 1), Dark Betrayal (Open). All of these are open to all Taldryan members except “Hit Lists”, which is for Dinaari members only. And also don’t forget the weekly multiplayer competitions!

DB News

-GM Jac fixed the match-reporting bug that had been a problem in the past for multiplayer competitions. Now when you login on djb.com and go to you admin options, you should click on the link that reads “Submit Tournament Scores” and then choose whether its for the Tuesday, Thursday, or Sunday event. Remember to report this way from now on to get your matches counted!

-Dark Sabre was the ICTE all-star last week, great job DS!!

Multiplayer Competitions-

Tuesday 1v1 Night

Multiplayer gaming night that will be held all day Tuesday in #gmrg. All DB-supported platforms will be used. Tuesdays are "solo" nights; meaning only 1 vs. 1 games will be played. Signup bots will not be used; you have to find matches by chatting in #gmrg or messaging people on IRC. Clusters of Fire will be awarded as usual, 1 for each win or three losses. In addition anyone who has 5 wins will get a Dark Cross, and anyone with 15 wins will get a Star of Antei.

Thursday Team Night

Multiplayer gaming night that will be all day Thursday in #gmrg. All DB-supported platforms will be used. Thursdays are "team" nights, meaning matches can only be played with at least teams of 2 vs. 2. Signup bots will not be used; you have to find matches by chatting in #gmrg or messaging people on IRC. Clusters of Fire will be awarded as usual, 1 for each win or three losses. In addition anyone who has 5 wins will get a Dark Cross, and anyone with 15 wins will get a Star of Antei.

Interclub Training Event

Multiplayer gaming night that will be held every Saturday evening in #outerrim. All DB-supported platforms will be used. Players come from DB and allied online gaming groups. Signup bots will be used, so use the !signup command on IRC to get matches in #outerrim. Clusters of Fire will be awarded as usual, 1 for each win or three losses.

Biweekly Sunday Tournament

Those people who participate in at least one match in the above listed weekly multiplayer competitions will be invited to play every other week in a Tournament on Sunday. There isn’t any specific structure, you just play as many matches as you would like and the person with the most wins during the day wins the Tournament. Everyone gets points for wins that they can use to buy personal possessions, and the total of all the points Taldryan members earn the Clan also earns as a whole to buy cool Clan stuff!
