House News

Well it has been another large gap between my last report and this one, but I know Ben has kept everyone up to date on the House and Clan with his weekly reports. Therefore, I’ve decided to start doing reports again but to make them just monthly reports. Not enough really happens in a week for it to require a lengthy report on the status and nature of the House and Clan and it would hold more meaning for everyone to read. Plus, with Ben’s weekly reports touching the facts – promotions, medals, transfers, etc this will give me a chance to report the new ideas, the upcoming events and all that good stuff.

So, since my last report a few things have happened. Umm, we won the Great Jedi War and all; hope you know that by now. And now we’ve chosen are winnings – 4 new ships in total and Consul Kir needs some help naming them. Send your ideas to him at [Log in to view e-mail addresses] He’ll pick the best ones to use as names and he’ll be awarding a good deal of medals, I’m sure.

Something a little closer to home: I’ve disbanded Dinaari’s two Brigades due to lack of activity and lack of necessity. Ben and I are active enough, as well as Kir and Shar to supply ample forms of activity and competition that the need for Sergeants, etc was waning. Battleteams are supposed to help the Quaestor and Aedile run the clan by organizing it a bit more, but when we only have 15-20 active members it’s far from needed. Some people may have noticed that Hyperion Flight is still up on the roster, well that’s because I allowed Demos to take his shot at directing the Sith. It’s more of a temporary thing to see if anything will come from it. By the New Year I doubt it will exist either.

I just recently, with the coding expertise of Ben, added a new page to the Dinaari site’s Info/Database section. It’s called the Combat Guide and is a rough guide to configurations for Jedi Outcast and to a lesser extent Jedi Academy. With all the MP’ing it’s good to have a decent configuration and this is one of the more widely used ones and is the one I use personally for the most part. Your welcome to check it out and try some stuff out. It also has a few tips and tricks for improving your game.

House Competitions

The Dinaari Hit List is currently running through Christmas break until February to give people ample time to deal with real life and participate in the competition. Again, the information is below:

Project Updates

David and myself have been working hard on creating a Dinaari Headquarts in Radiant – the editor for Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. So far thing’s are looking sweet and I’ll hopefully be able to add some screens to the site soon. Once we’re done building the map we’ll get it added to the Tal server and might manage to make a few custom SP missions from it!

The Dinaari Bootcamp site sort of it a drag but I want to get working on this again soon. Bootcamp is expected to be released come January. More info soon.

Currently I’m working on a new form of competition that I sort of announced earlier involving the Dinaari Message Board. Basically it’s across between a Run-On and an MMORPG. Your character will basically be posting pieces of his/her DB life on the MB. You can take events like the GJW or MP matches and write them out in detail as a “real” battle which you fought in your DB life. Character’s of course will be based on your DB character’s history and character sheet. I’ll also randomly throw in assignments and missions for people to write about. Medals and promotions will of course be rewarded for diligent chroniclers. If I ever get around to hammering out this idea I’ll be releasing it ASAP.

News from Abroad

High-end promotions and medals are being thrown all around the Dark Council. Most notably and, in my opinion, deserved would be Mavvles elevation to Dark Jedi Master. Everyone go <3 Mav.

A few days back Jac released the rough guidelines to Clan and Order powers. I’m not sure if that’s going to be final or not but we’ll see. I like most of the Order Powers system, but I’m not a fan of the Clan Powers system. Should be more integrated to each clan’s style and personality. Not some Cut and paste rules for all clans.

The SWG Baron went postal and “stole” a bunch of DBPA items and crap and I dunno… started over with them and disbanded the guild. I don’t understand much of it because it’s about SWG but I hear it’s bad and Yacks is CoJing his ass.

If you really want to know what’s going on in the world outside Tal I suggest checking the DB News page… I tend not to care about most DB news :P

Quaestor’s Corner

Aside from sporadic complaints and angry insults, the Corner will soon host a small trivia section. Most likely 10 easy questions about either the DB, Dinaari, Taldryan, IRC or the SW movies (I don’t much go for expanded universe stuff) so it should be nice and simple and an easy way to win LSS’s.

Now for the sporadic comment: Taldryan rules, the other clans are disgustingly insane… “were-creatures”? wtf :P

Oh and since I’m going to start doing monthly reports I’m going to try to come up with a little snazzier format or something… not sure what yet. And since its been a few months I may have missed some important stuff. So I apologize but then, you most likely already know about it.
