Wow -- what a rough week. I am really starting to look forward to my Spring
Break. I need to time off to get myself back on track... :P
If you didn't know, last weekend I was in Baltimore visiting my
Grandparents. My Grandpa has been on "pain management" and we moved him into
Hospice over the weekend. It was hard to do, and hard to say goodbye. He
hasn't been himself for a long time though. I think it was just harder
watching my dad than anything else.
I tried to get some stuff done in the car, since I had a good twenty hours
to do stuff. Of course, I got no school work done. Because of that, my
schedule has been off all week. I normally need to have some work done for
the week, or else I'm screwed. I was screwed.
Not to mention I had a research paper due Friday. I pulled an all-nighter to
finish it. Fun Fun.
Ever get to a point in life where you just have so much crap to do that you
just don't know where to start. Yeah, that's where I am. Wedding crap,
school crap, db crap, and random life crap.....meh.
I didn't miss any class this week. That's a plus.

A successful DB has always been about good communication. Of course, doing
that over the web is always a challenge. It takes a lot of effort to keep
everyone informed of things. I've tried hard to keep people up-to-date, but
it hasn't been enough.
What I'm referring to is the big picture outlook of the DB. I've had a bunch
of people come up to me in the last few weeks talking about progress in the
DB. When I explain to them things from my point of view, I think it helps
them to get the big picture of things. Things may not be progressing super
fast in one area of the DB, or one project may be in a rut, but when you
take the aggregate progress, I think the DB is moving faster than we have in
years. Just go read the reports from the last few months. Compare them to
the ones from the three months right before that. You'll see a huge
difference.
I think it's always very tempting to compare the present time to the split
activity. I miss that time too, because I had the most fun of my career when
we told the EH to shove it. I think what made it fun though is that ALL of
the old folks came back, and EVERYONE put Real Life on hold for a couple
months. Naturally, that can't happen all the time. I think a misconception
we have is that everyone was working well together then. I think that's true
in a sense, but we all had one common enemy. These days, a lot of us have
goals that and ideas that may conflict, or we have personal ambitions that
get in the way.
We have moved from a club that can be successful by defeating a rival club
to one that can only be successful if we don't defeat ourselves. The
infighting needs to stop. People need to take a step back and say "what the
hell am I doing that is good for the DB?" We are all on the same team. We
all have the same goals.
I am an optimist at heart, but this is not something I need optimism about.
I know that we will be successful. Have faith in that.

With that, we have decided that we are going to aim for mid-march for the

On my trip lat weekend I managed to find a good ten hours to put into the
Dark Covenant<jasru><korras> while in the car. I finally finished my

I<jasru><korras> received a lot of great feedback. Most

Of course, after talking with a few people, I decided to make another set of
big changes -- cutting down the content of the Cov. Mav is looking that over
and I will be sending the updated version to the DC when he gets back to me.

From last week:
So if you haven't seen our new flagship in the DV, go check it out. It's
sweet as can be. Spears did an amazing job in designing it. I am very happy
with what he came up with.
Now, for the next DV, I want to get a name for the ship. As is custom with
tradition, the name of the first ship in a line of capital ships is the
actual designation of the Ship. So if ee call it the Billy Class Destroyer,
the name would be Billy. Get it?
So what I want are suggestions for names -- You can post them
[
here on the MBs](http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=225) Whoever comes up with the one we vote is best will get
an SC.

Nice work on the Clan and Order Powers rework... I like the changes. Lots more flexibility and its still pretty hard to meet the top levels. I like the Clan Loyalty service requirements too.
Sorry to hear about your grandfather. I remembered you mentioning him in a previous report, and figured something had gone wrong. Hang in there, Jac.
