Hi there everyone,

It’s been a while since you’ve all heard from me and for some members this is the first report you’ve read so if it turns out to be a long one don’t be disheartened, most of my other reports are short and to the point : )

Anyway, much has happened during the past month. Some good some bad some a mixture of both. One of the first things I’d like to talk about is the Clan wide AWOL check we have recently done. This brought the size of our House down from roughly 44 members to 26 (granted new recruits have increased that number now). This is almost a 50% reduction in House numbers leaving us a much more streamlined unit and one could also assume that we could possibly get some activity from the members who survived the AWOL check. Now before you start saying that you don’t own any games or cant take time to write stories or whatever for KMTs or the Independence Games (more on this later) let me clarify my statement. I count numerous things as activity, these include;

1)Replying to emails or perhaps even initiating emails with me and the other House Summits about anything really.

2)Showing up on IRC.

3)Forums. This is a great way to get a feel for House and Clan and also learning things about the DB as a whole.

4)SA Courses

5)ACC. This is another great way of participating. Even if you are strapped for time I have found that two weeks that the time limit gives you is more then enough to write a post even if it wont win you the Carnegie medal it will still be something.

6)And there’s always some gaming but as I’m not an avid gamer I’m in not much of a position to criticise people for not gaming

I’d also like to take this time to remind everyone that Clan Tarentum and especially House Gladius operates a strict activity policy and you all need to keep active lest you be kicked out in either another Clan wide purge or smaller House/Battleteam checks.

If you need another incentive to get active you should know that members who show constant levels of activity do get rewarded with either medals or promotions and in exceptional circumstances perhaps both.

Directly related to the above point is the status of house Gladius’s Battleteams (BTs). We currently have three Battle teams or Circles however only one of them can be said to be in any decent shape of activity and numbers. Therefore after discussion with the circle leaders it may be time to combine two circles or perhaps even disband them. However out of a House of 30 members we have perhaps 12 members in BTs and I’m thinking perhaps we could get enough interest from the House to fill up the numbers of these circles and get them active again, after all you have all showed interest in being in Gladius and speaking from experience you cannot get the full feel of a House or even clan unless you are in a Battle Team and participating in events. So drop me a email and I’ll see if I can make all you guys a place in a BT ;)

On another note I would like to offer my congratulations to Guardian Sato Kahn who has recently not only taken on the position of House Rollmaster but he has also taken on the burden of being the Assistant House Envoy to House Gladius. Considering Sato is a relatively new member I find this a amazing achievement and for the way he has stepped into these two rolls with enthusiasm and a drive to better the House he has my gratitude. Thanks Sato.

On average activity has been on the up these past few weeks and for that I must thank you with many of you putting in a visit for the ICTEs, IGs and gaming nights. However I must remind you that you need to conduct yourselves in a proper manner when playing these games or indeed if your only in the IRC rooms. When you are there you are a representative of House and Clan and if you act badly be it by cheating or just a bad attitude it’s going to reflect badly on the Clan.. Tarentum is a great Clan, First Clan of the Sith and a worthy Obelisk Clan as found out by previous Rites of Supremacies. We should live up to this, and act like it. Doing the contrary never gets anyone any good.

The Independence Games (IGs) have been going on now for a week or two and whilst it isn’t as good as last years events its still worth a few hours of your time/ There is a wide variety of events ranging from fiction to gaming and I feel Tarentum should be riding high in the top of the charts however with a couple of weeks to go I don’t think that’s the case. But I’m not despairing yet we still have a few weeks to get those submissions in and for those of you who wish to sign up for the events so you can enter the web address is:

This is a prime time to show the Clan Summits the grit and determination that House Gladius posses so lets win this for Tarentum :D
