If you have Star Wars news to report, drop me a line.
Nearly everyone who applied got a position - and of the few who didn't get in, they will have a place as soon as the site gets
rolling. A mailing list is coming soon. If you're on the SWGN staffand are waiting to hear from me - hold on. I'll get everyone
at once when the mailing list is created. I'd rather not repeat things, or tell some people everything and others only bits and
pieces. A long winded mail will come as soon as we have that list in place.
Please don't request new GoA's or any updates. Ignore that link in your dossier. I'm not even looking at the mail if GoA is in
the title. The new system is getting put together, so please wait for that.
One question that came up was "are previous GoA owners getting remade or will everyone have to start over?" The answer is this:
Current GoA Holders will get processed first, then it'll open for all who qualify.
Nothing New.
Who's Your Daddy?
Star Wars.Com is advertising a
pretty cool promo this weekend. See Revenge This Father's Day Weekend, Get a Free Poster! Details on the official
site.
In other ROTS news, it raked in another $15M in the US last weekend.
Use the Farm, Cuke
From the "I can't make this crap up" department comes this little gem from KP Braecen... so you all can blame him for
it.
(Grocery) Store Wars - a somewhat preachy retelling of
everyone's favorite space opera - plays out the struggle of Organic foods versus the Processed Empire. Honestly. I can't make
this crap up. Everyone who knows anything about me knows I'm the last person to suggest you watch a propaganda film about any
cause, but I do have to say this one is clever, witty and very well done. It's worth checking out... just don't get swept up in
its fuzzy message, ya hippie.
MacTastic
If you have a Macintosh, I apologize. I've been overlooking some stuff that you'd probably be interested in. Foremost, LEGO Star Wars is coming out for you! Pre-order it today!
Also coming for you Mac people is [Star Wars Battle
Front](http://www.aspyr.com/games.php/mac/swbf/)!
ETA? I don't know. I didn't look that hard into it... and for that I am sorry. I don't have a Mac, so to me it's not a
priority.
I was having a streak of bad. Things got better, as they always do.
This tale sounds kind of stupid to some, but understand that a lot of what I do for fun involves computers.
I was in a slump because the BF2 (that's Battlefield 2, as in the Battlefield 1942/Vietnam series) demo came out last week but I
wasn't able to run it because my video card was too old. I was faced with the fact that I needed to upgrade, but couldn't afford
it. Cash is a little tight since we've started saving for our own house. The Wal-Mart thing is really still up in the air, and
I'm going to fight them every step of the way, but just in case I lose I want to be able to get a new house. Knowing my squad
was all moving up to BF2 while I was unable to run it was really making me angry.
Sensing my frustration and unhappiness, my wife asked me what I needed to do to upgrade. I told her about the video card
problem, and outlined the otherthings I had planned to upgrade before our cashflow was diverted to a more important cause. The
next day she told me she was buying the card. I was psyched. I really owe her now. I got the video card and installed it. I can
play the demo, and I can play BFV with the video settings about 3 times higher than I had before. It doesn't look any better,
really, except for the lightmaps and shadows. Being at a higher res is nice too.
I also got word that the saber was on its way from Dark Hunter. Awesome.
The only truly bad news from me this week is that the cool job I applied for went to someone else. It was somthing I really
wanted too. Oh well... back to the want ads.
