Pecan Report 21/1/05

It's me again.

As you can see your week's holiday from me has come to an end. First of all I'd like to thank all of you who took the time to reply to my master/app email. I've had loads of replies from people new to this scheme and I must say if the level of participation in this program is even slightly similar to the amount of participation we can see in competitions and events then Tarentum truly is a force to be reckoned with.

Other important news includes the beginning (well soon enough) of Round 2 of the Clan Competition, with the first round coming to a close later on today (Saturday). There's the customary gaming round and also a fiction round in which you get to choose between two topics to write on. I'm going to quote Anshar's latest email on the BF2 scoring here as well to reiterate its importance;

"My apologies. I forgot to mention this. Because of the massive kills that you can bring in through BFII, I've adapted a proportional system (after discussing the idea with Jkast). This is to keep it fair and winning within reach of anyone who plays, no matter what the game. It counts your kills on a scale of 5 as if you were playing JA or JO. Here's how it works:

Let's say I play Jkast in a game of BFII. Jkast has 93 kills when we're done, I have 21. So, here's how I do it:

93/21 = 5/X

Cross multiply so that 93X = 105. Divide 105 by 93 and you get 1.13. So, Jkast would get 5 kills, I would get 1 kill. Now, if these games are part of the first 5 games of BFII we play with, we'd both get a bonus kill, so it would be 6 and 2. "

In discussion between Anshar and myself we've decided to try and encourage some extra activity in the Antei Combat centre and now due to the issuing of emails to the Clan Summits after a battle is judged we are able to have a feasible way of doing this. So, for every two wins you receive in a ACC battle you will be awarded a Dark Cross, note two wins mean that you must have posted in the battle to its conclusion and not just won due to a time out. You will also get a DC for every 4 losses again in battles fought to their conclusion.

Just some random bits and bobs before I draw this email to a close, welcome to all the new members who have joined the Clan since my last report and also the Clan Trivia is out on the Message boards. This trivia is an easy way of getting a Legion of the Scholar which are essential to claw up the ranks of Clan Force Powers. Be sure to participate! J
