Dinaari AED Report 11/2/06 pt1

It's been a pretty quiet week compared to the last. This is a sign of stability, getting comfortable with our new roster and our beginning our entries for the new competitions this month. The activity records are filled with the usual SA courses passed and Cluster of Fires & Legion of Scholars awarded rather than the glut of fancy medals that are always handed out at the end of a month.

So now it is time to focus on winning some of those spoils of war when this month ends. There are a few interesting writing competitions running in the DJB and the Clan at the moment, the Antei Combat Centre is always open for a good battle and every other night is a multiplayer night in some form or another. Expect to see a House Competition starting next weekend.

As always, #Taldryan and #Dinaari are hives of activity most nights on IRC. We'd love for you to come along and join in whatever rubbish people are talking about.

Leave Time

I will be on leave from Saturday until Wednesday. If you need anything from me, then please still email me and if it's super-important I should be able to get back to it. You should still cc: me with all of your competition entries and other general activity so I can write you down in my little activity logs. I imagine that I'll just not be able to get on IRC ...apparently my girlfriend thinks I should spend my time with her while she visits. Ah well.

Some of you may have noticed that you can't email QUA Kraval at the moment. It just gets bounced back. We've sent out the search parties to his other email addresses and we hope that it is simply internet problems at the moment. Knowing Kraval means...you know he'll be back. Last thing he wants is my hand on the steering wheel of the good-ship Dinaari for too long.

Welcome!!!

We've had a few new members this week...Please welcome...

NOV Nadaz from House Exar Kun, who was also quickly promoted to Novice shortly after joining by completing the promotion requirements.

We've stolen **NOV Razyr Varn'Jerai **from House Ektrosis thanks to a administration error ...yet he still wants to stay in Dinaari because we rule.

Newcomer APP Pravus has also joined us from the Shadow Academy and has already been vocal on the message boards.

Promotion Tasks

As you all know, the promotion guidelines were changed last week. Now to be promoted from PRT to GRD, GRD to JH and JH to DJK you must be give an individual, unique task to do (in increasing difficulty). We apologise that that hasn't been organised yet...but to make it unique it takes a bit of time and for the higher promotions they tend to be tasks of responsibility.

We'll have this sorted out as soon as possible. In the meantime you have plenty of other activities to be busy with to get you those promotions.

Gaming News

Empire At War is out on Thursday. You can guarantee that the DJB will be using that as a platform. Playing the demo it looks like the game is much like a regular RTSs of the past but with a real-time galactic map with fleet movements adding extra depth to strategy on the ground (and in the air, but it's all 2D gameplay). Apart from some annoying path-finding its pretty fun to play, and looks very exciting as a multiplayer game.

Activity

This is of course, all the tangible activity records, and doesn't take into account things like other DJB work, time spent on the chat rooms, etc ...but we do notice that stuff too ...promise!

Interclub Training Event (ICTE) : Multiplayer ALL Platforms

Every Saturday in #outerrim between noon and midnight (EST). That's 5pm til 5am for those of you on GMT.

ALL Star Wars platforms are used. Please read the website before you first compete...there is a signup bot that must be used to arrange matches and the site will explain how to use it.

Tuesday and Thursday Multiplayer Gaming : All Platforms

If you go to #gmrg on a Tuesday (1am til 11.59pm EST ...all day) you'll find a solo multiplayer night for 1v1s and in #gmrg on a Thursday (all day again) for team-based multiplayer (CTF, 2v2, etc).

There is no signup bot in #gmrg ...just get chatting to arrange a match yourself.

*Antei Combat Centre *

Always on offer is the ACC where you can go kick some ass in a friendly 1v1 run-on. There are quite a few Shadow Academy courses about ACC that you'll have to do first, so you can set up your character sheet, learn the rules and do a training match before you get into the complicated world of ACC proper.
