I have 4 days until Spring Break starts, with a test and a short paper in those four days. Personally, I say that Friday can't come fast enough. I will be going out of town during Spring Break, the second half of the week, but my aunt's house has internet (wireless even, I do believe), so I should not be out of contact very much.
Anyways, on to clan things, of which there are many important things.
First off, I hope everyone paid heed to Sephiroth's last e-mail to the clan. There is a new clan competition: a small fiction writing event. Here's the link to the details: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/competitions.asp?ID=1635
What makes this competition really neat is that it is being run by Sephiroth. He proposed the idea and submitted it once Welshman and I gave our approval. So, send your submissions to [Log in to view e-mail addresses], not me or Welshman. In fact, I intend to submit to it myself and I encourage you to do the same.
Next up, after I write this report, I will be submitting medal and promo requests that the Clan and House Summits agreed upon this weekend. Hopefully, those will be out in the next few days or so. These awards are not based off of just the last competition, though that was a big factor.
Third, and this is something I don't like to do, but I have been left with little recourse. I am removing Demos as Quaestor of House Tridens, effective immediately. This decision was made upon consultation with Welshman, as well as having spoken directly with a couple members of the house who approached me with their concerns. Jkast will be taking over as Quaestor. He's really shown himself to be a great guy, a good leader who is really active, and I think the house will benefit greatly. Now, at the moment, don't ask about Aedile. Jkast will determine what he wants to do in response to the job. The decision will mostly be his to make, with Welsh and I largely providing the rubber stamp.
Fourth, just to reiterate something that Welshman mentioned, but every Summit members (CON, PCON, QUA, and AED) is required to host at least one small competition per month; it can be fiction, poetry, or gaming (perhaps "best death" or anything like that). Circle leaders should continue to offer activities as well. Larger competitions, like the one just ran, will count for both of the people running it. This is done to help provide activity for everyone to do, and hopefully get a good mix of things. I encourage you to try something new.
Have you seen the new robes? Do you think they leave something to be desired? Well, they are temporary, so fear not. Talk to Muz, though, if you have any comments about the new lightsabers or the robe designs. Just do it constructively.
Finally, I'd like to commend those in the clan who have gotten something posted on the Writer's Corner, and/or taken the advancement survey. Being involved with both projects, I like to see them be used, especially by members of my clan. If you submitted an advancement survey, I'm working my way through them, recording the responses and responding where needed.
That's it for this week.
In darkness,
~AK
