Headmaster Report

Ok, I’ve been Headmaster for a month now, and asides from position announcements, there’s not been much from me. Well, here’s my first official report as Headmaster. Enjoy, or suffer, whichever you prefer… :P

First up, two new EPs have been appointed. The new IRC Basics EP will be Quejo. Ood Bnar will be taking over the Sith Tactics exam. Congratulations to both of them and thanks to everyone that applied.

Second, I want to emphasize that I am always open to receive comments and questions. From course proposals to comments to questions about the Shadow Academy, you are free to bring them to me. I will do my best to answer them in a timely manner. You can catch me through e-mail, IRC, AIM, Gmail chat (if I’m logged in to my e-mail) or the message boards. I bring this up because I know that, in terms of positions, some people are not always pleased with the outcome, and I don’t just mean being a little bit disappointed. Your best bet is to come to me directly to talk about it before talking to others about it. In fact, no one else will be able to give you the answer you want, except for me. In fact, if you go to others to question a decision I’ve made, or you don’t talk to me first, then you are not going to have much credibility with me.

So, what is coming up for the Shadow Academy?

I’m working on updating Shadow Academy courses right now. Well, a lot of the work is being done by the EPs and Kromtal and Dranik (thanks to Sephiroth for his help also). I’m reviewing the work, and making changes as needed. Updates to the exams should be coming out as early as this weekend (most of the changes are actually fairly small- like removing EH from the text of the Tactics exam notes). The Leadership Applications will be getting a reformat so it actually looks like it is supposed to (main points, subpoints, etc.). But, these small changes are important changes nonetheless.

New Courses: I’ve received some interesting proposals already, and I’ve approved theses course for further development. So, the Shadow Academy will keep expanding to better serve you, the member. If you have an idea for a course, send it to me. Speaking of new courses, please respond to my poll in the polling center.
