The DB is made up of literally thousands of people who devote their free time to the pursuit of fun in the Star Wars universe. It's more than just getting together and arguing over "who would own who" among club members or Star Wars characters. It gives you a place to channel your individual creativity and share that with other intelligent and talented folks. To this end, here are some things to bear in mind...

    - Patience

    - Research

    - Dedication

As a new member I know what it's like to want to advance to the top NOW. You're eager to learn the club and your place in it as well as expand your roll. Remember though that those that help you reach your goals are also real people who have lives and their own interests to pursue. Be patient with them as you wait for promotion, awards, etc. They provide these services out of genuine interest in furthering the organization and enhancing members' experiences within it.

Research is something you can do on your own to answer many of your questions. The club's resources are vast and will lead you into many a late night reading session if you have the aforementioned patience for it. Exploring the lore of the DB might also take your mind off awaiting your next promo or competition results and provide you with valuable backstory for your next fiction.

As I mentioned earlier, everyone here has a real life to manage and the DB will remain as a hobby or diversion for them. That being said, don't ever forget that if you choose to involve yourself in something, you will only get out what you put in. I cannot stress that enough. You joined for a reason. If that impetus was good enough for you to take the trouble to find the club and meet its requirements for joining, you might want to address that reason again as it's probably still a very good one. Dedicating even a little bit of your time here can be very rewarding. You will learn, make friends, broaden your creative talent, and at worst, chat with some very cool people.

You're here, you might as well enjoy it.

We've had some great participation in the war of late. My inbox has been filled with submissions from many of our veteran members and especially by many of us Journeymen. I would encourage you to not be intimidated to participate in GJW events. Even if you lose, you've still gained points for the Clan.

HSK is currently embroiled in a concerted attack with HEK against Clan Arcona in the GJW run-on. The Clan and House Summit leaders have set up the action and all you need do is jump in and have some fun. This is a great way to break the ice and let others in HSK know what you're about. I would advise you do your research and read up some on both Arcona and your own clan before posting. It will greatly help your writing and show the rest of the club your dedication to delivering the best work possible on behalf of Plagueis. Remember the run-on will eventually be collated and judged at the end of the war.

I'm pleased that everyone seems to be finding a niche in which to participate in the war. Keep it up.
