A bit ago I mentioned a 'down time' for anything being pushed from us as far as events are concerned, and I am still going to go with that. There are some that are a bit antsy for things like the next CHL's and stuff, but we have to go with the majority and, of course, we don't want anyone on the verge of "burnout" trying to compete in a Championship Ladder. So just bear with us, have a drink and kick yer feet up... and, in case you've taken the above in the wrong way (and to answer the mails without replying to them); No, this doesn't mean the ACC is closing :P You can still do your training, quals and regular matches - just no "big events" from us yet.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> GJW: The Ultimate Duel</td> </tr> <tr> <td> The final ACC portion of the war is coming to a close soon. The rules address the fact that all battles will be pushed into DeathPosts 4 days before the competition ends - that means tomorrow, the 20th!! So, no matter where you are in the battle, you'll need to do a DP tomorrow and both of you will have until the death of the 23rd to complete them. Obviously, if you are battling a time-sucker who waits until the very last second to post - you'll still get your time to post your DP even if it runs over the 23rd.</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> A bit of an FYI concerning time-outs and DeathPosts: "If Player 1 [or first to have a DP opportunity] times out in writing the DP, the right goes to Player 2. Then the battle is over. If Player 2 times out, it is simply over. Or, in other words - just the intuitive solution: Each player gets exactly one shot at writing a deathpost." ~ DJM Kaiann So, keep that in mind!</td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> ACC JOB OPENINGS!!</td> </tr> <tr> <td>
The ACC has recently felt the impact of RL with the loss of a few of our staff; some to hardware issues, some to burnout and some to just plain ol lack of time. Weve moved whom we could for the moment and shifted duties among the present staff to balance our vets, but its time to seek out those from the membership. We are looking to fill all three positions; Live! Judges, Judges and Trainers but we have specific requirements this time that are non-negotiable until we see where we stand. They are extensive, so be sure to read, understand and adhere to application methods and requirements itll save us all a lot of headache. Thanks.
Live! Judge [LJUD]: ACCLive! is the real-time version of the ACC. It uses mIRC and a custom program to interface with the DBs Antei Combat Centre for the purpose of running battles in a timed environment these battles are run and rated by ACCLive! Judges and overseen by the Live! Judge Administrator [LJA].
Applicants must
<li>have passed the ACC Initiates Course</li>
<li>have fought in at least 2 Live! battles to completion and rating</li>
<li>have a reliable IRC presence, internet connection and use mIRC</li>
<li>have immediate leadership approval, as applicable</li> _*If you are Clan summit, you need a DGM okay. If you are House summit, you need Clan summit approval. If BT leader; House summit approval. If you are a roster member, you need the first tier leadership to which you are assigned. Active Rogues do not require this criteria. _

*If you are Clan summit, you need a DGM okay. If you are House summit, you need Clan summit approval. If BT leader; House summit approval. If you are a roster member, you need the first tier leadership to which you are assigned. Active Rogues do not require this criteria.
Trainer [TRN]: ACC Trainers are responsible for just that; training. Their main goal is to mentor and assist all Initiates in gaining an understanding of the ACC and eventually lead them through Qualification. Trainers are the gateway to the ACC proper.

Application Methods
All applications will, as a minimum
<li></li>be sent to the Combat Master and CCd to the Deputy Combat Master and your immediate leadership
<li></li>contain the applicants full ID line (minus medals, awards and SA courses) and PIN
<li></li>specifically address which job you are applying for (if applying for multiple jobs, you must meet the criteria for each)
<li></li>cite an example, via a link (not attached file), to what you consider to be your best writing work for the DB. ACC battles are preferred, but not necessary. <li>include 1 of each;
One thing you dislike about the ACC and why, with a recommendation for how youd change it.
One thing you like about the ACC and why.
A brief synopsis of how your character would approach their job in the ACC.
A brief explanation of how you would approach your job in the ACC.
1 post from any battle in the ACC; from either the Combat Centre Hall, the Archive or any of the CHL/PCHLs (that is not your own) with your personal rating of that post in accordance with how you interpret the rules and guidelines of the Centre. Include a link to the battle, specify the post that you are rating and be sure to cite any and all references from ACC information (not to include a rating that the battle may already have).
</li>
**Note: Apart from those individuals who were communicated with in the passed few days (as of 11 Aug 2006), previously considered applicants need to re-apply based on the above criteria.
Finally
There is a method to the madness and why the application requirements are a bit stringent, but that is something for a later date. It should be noted, however, that the application is not the end of the line. If your application is accepted, you will still have to undergo some sort of "trial" administered by myself or the DCM, DJM Halcyon. It is absolutely necessary that applicants "want" this job, the first 'good' sign being successfully navigating the above BS, LOL. </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> Fin...</td> </tr> <tr> <td> Normally I'd throw up a bunch of our coming soon, or stuff we're working on...but I'm just a bit stoked to have reporting ability back on the main site that I just wanted to get this up. I'll figure out what to do with the ACC News and Info section of the ACC site later, maybe we'll just trash it or use it for non-reportable stuff...meh, who knows. Have a great weekend!

"Applicants must... have a reliable IRC presence, internet connection and use mIRC"
Why does it matter what they use to access IRC? It's not the job of an ACC Live judge to give lessons on how to use mIRC - that's why there's a course at the SA.
There is a special program used for ACCLIve! that I believe was made to be used for mIRC...it's what we use to run each battle. As such, to use that program, mIRC is needed to run it
Yep, it only works with mIRC. No mIRC, no Live! program. No Live! program, no reason to apply to be an ACCLive! Judge :)
Although, if someone had the chops to develop the same thing for HydraIRC or something, I'd be more than willing to give it a test run and try to incorporate other IRC software.
