NEW REPORT FORMAT UNLEASHED!

Can you even stand it!? My HTML skills are very minimal, but hopefully this will be slightly more interesting to look at. Feedback welcome.

NEW HOUSE LOGO!

I made this in the past week. We didn't have a logo and I thought this would be a nice one. It can be seen on our House Wiki as well. I hope you like it. Feedback welcome.

NEW HOUSE MOTTO!

With a new age dawning for us here in HSK, I thought a new, edgier motto would go nicely with our new logo. After thinking this over for some time and speaking with Daniel Stephens, Sarin, and Aabs, I chose:

There Is No Doubt

The reasons for this are simple. There is no doubt in my mind that we cannot together make this a more fun and exciting House. There is no doubt in my mind that we cannot compete with the other Houses and Clans of the Brotherhood and show them all we are a force to be reckoned with. Finally, there is no doubt in my mind that myself and your other House and Clan leaders cannot bring us forward into this new glory.

So, do you have any doubt?

HOUSE WIKI UPDATED!

Thanks to Aabs reminding me of the House Wiki page, I've updated it with a few items. We'll continue to work on it as time goes by. If you haven't checked out the DJB Wiki by now, you're missing a lot of great information on this Club. It's especially nice for those of you into the EU, as we create our own little corner of it, and will allow you to author up some of your own.

If you're not sure how to use it, ask myself or the CON/PCON and we'll show you how. Please don't make edits to pages other than your own character's without permission. That way we can keep them uniform and in good order. If you'd like to assist with any of our Wiki pages, contact myself or especially Aabs as it's his project.

CURRENT FORUM TOPICS

I have several forum topics underway on the House Message Board. I'm doing these in order to gather information on what members like, don't like, would like to see, why they belong to the Club, and what they prefer to do while they're here.

We'll be working off the responses to change things, put things you like into effect, and generally improve whatever we can within the House and even the Clan. Much like in voting, if you don't let your voice be heard, it won't, so get over there and let me hear what you have to say.

The topics can all be found at the top in the pinned section.

A NOTE ON SUBMITTING COMPETITIONS

Competitions are good. But like all things, they need just a bit of moderation from time to time. <font color="#FF0000">Please remember that all competitions need to be approved by the House Summit before you submit them.</font> If it's a BT or House-only comp, Daniel or I will stamp it approved or dissaproved and you can then either submit it via the normal competition form, or re-work it a little if asked to.

If it's a Clan-wide comp, you'll need Aabs or Sarin to sign off on it. Submit it to me and Daniel, then we'll pass it up the chain of command. This way everyone knows what's going on and we can all put our heads together to either make sure it's good to go, or help you improve it so it can be submitted.

Trust me, this isn't an "e-ego" trip on our parts. Lately there's been a lot of competitions submitted throughout the Brotherhood that either don't make clear the rules, are flawed to the point of not being able to function, or are simply repetetive in nature when we're trying hard to keep things new and fresh. I really appreciate your help on this and look forward to all your submissions.

Please remember to place [CP] in front of the title when submitting your comp into the form. If it's an intra-House or Battleteam comp, I like to do something like [CP-HSK], or [CP-SV] letting our members know right away exactly who it pertains to.

GOODBYE TO GARIK

Unfortunately we have to say farewell to DJK Garik Burren. Once again the treacherous foe of Real Life has sank its teeth into one of us causing them to fall behind. Once Garik gets straightened out at home again, he's promised to rejoin us. Please thank him for his service as Envoy and Rollmaster.

PLEASE USE THE CHAIN OF COMMAND

If you have something going on, be it an LoA, transfer request, etc., please use the chain of command to report it. Start with your BTL. Make him aware of the situation so that he may help you with it or act on it and also pass it up the chain to the rest of us.

If you're not in a BT, pass it up to Daniel and me and we'll pass it up from there. Ideally, all you need do is send your BTL an email and CC whoever is your House Summit at the time.

This will make things easier for everyone. Thanks all.

NO MORE HOUSE ENVOYS

The Clan has decided to close the House Envoy positions indefinately. Please don't apply for them. As you may know, Sarin will be handling the welcoming of new members, and Orzon will address their needs and aid them as they progress in both Houses as well as our existing members.

These positions may one day be re-opened, but only in the case that a member shows outstanding apptitude, helpfulness, and participation and thus draws the attention of the Clan as a potential Envoy and future leader.

In the meantime, please direct all Envoy matters to Orzon and CC the House Summit.

NEW REPORT FORMATS

This new format marks the first step in my efforts to improve the quality and appearance of all HSK reports. I'm working now to build a format for Daniel that he can easily use in his reports. If that goes well, I'll move on to the BTL report.

WIKIPEDIA OR WIKIMANIA?

Well, we have wiki articles up the you-know-what. I've done my character's, as many of you have, and I've started improving the House wiki as mentioned earlier. I'm soon to tackle another article for Aabs who is ever buried in the task of trying to "wikitize" the whole Clan.

This is a large project as even we have a huge fictional background as the youngest clan. There will be articles on characters, the Houses, major battles, notable members, etc. There's quite a bit to be done.

There may be some competition here after all. There's been a ton of participation this last week spanning the SA, and many of the simple competitions we have running. I think you'll like this distinction as the title will be fun to use in your fictions and I plan on directing the run-on and getting some of the Summits to post as well.

So what you can expect there is a very mature, well-written run-on, that once it gets running with a few Hands, should be quite fun if you like the medium.
