Apparently I'm a good husband or something because my wife bought me a new Alienware for our anniversary. She may of slipped up though in that she got me a gift intended for gaming. And if she wants me to enjoy the gift, as every wife does, then she has to let me game!

I'm sure there's a flaw in my logic somewhere, but the jist of this is I'll have a bit more time set aside to actually get on and game with you all.

I suck at, but love, the following games:

I'm up for any of those when I get some time, so keep me in mind. I've sworn to myself to compelte my Test of Endurance in JKA before the year's out. It will happen!

SARIN NAMED DEPUTY GRAND MASTER!

We've talked about how Plagueis is a great Clan. We've reminded members of the special nature of this place. We've all agreed its leadership and members are special. Now we point to one of the ultimate expressions of our success as a Clan: the appointment of Sarin as DGM.

It is without doubt a credit to Sarin's work and dedication to his Clan and Club he was given this honor. But it is something for the rest of us to be proud of. The great membership of this Clan will continue to make it's mark both through what we do here within the walls of the Dark Tower, and in the Brotherhood proper. Some of you may even know Sarin was once Aedile of HSK! All the way from that to this, outstanding.

If our members are worthy of such honor and responsibility, are they not worth becoming the elite Clan in the DJB? Are we not as good as any other Clan? Are we not better? If we can do this, we can do anything. Look to the future, make your mark, and be victorious. You deserve nothing less.

Well done, Sarin, you deserve it.

Week 2 is out and while I have several entries, I only have 2 completely correct ones. That means that there's still a Crescent up for grabs if you can get more quotes right than that last member. Google, baby!

Results for Week 2 and Week 3's quotes will be out around the 14th.

2 NEW CLAN COMPETITIONS

I hate recycling news, but I want to make sure everyone knows about these competitions and how to play in them. The quotes comp has been going great, but I only have 2 entries for the Really Short Story. Notice the key word "Really" there?

First is the Star Wars Quotes competition. I'll be sending out an email each week of November with 5 quotes from the films, books, cartoons, etc. The first person to email me back with the correct answers of who spoke the quotes will get 1st place and a 4th Level Crescent. 2nd and 3rd follow suit. These aren't going to be easy.

Second is the Really Short Story. There's difficulty these days it seems getting anyone to write anything of length, so by employing reverse psychology I learned from TV, I'm only asking for 1000 words. That's a little less than 2 pages in 12pt font. All you have to do is tell a story about your character's stupendous adventures. Follow the link for more details.

MORROTH DESCRIPTION UPDATED ON CP SITE

I have the newest version of the Morroth planetary description up on the main CP site.

WORKING ON HSK SITE

As soon as I get the access I need on the HSK site, I'll be updating a few of the pages there as well, namely the Morroth description so that it matches both the Wiki and CP site.

_OTHER PROJECTS _

I'll be working to help maintain, and hopefully improve, the main CP site beyond just what pertains to HSK. Hopefully between Aabs and myself we can keep it looking good and up-to-date.

I've also been trying to improve my graphics ability. My current ability isn't that great as you can see by what I make for these reports, my images, etc. I've improved quite a bit though from where I was even a year ago and the more I do, the more I learn. Funny how that's the way with everything =)

I think graphics are an important part of what we do here as they help us "visualize" what it is we're all having fun imagining and writing about. Look for more graphic-oriented things from me in the future.

Also, if anyone thinks my crap is good enough and you'd like a signature made, or some little thing like that, let me know and I'll help you out.

I've also further updated both the Morroth description (will I ever be done with it!?) and the House history to bring it up to date. The description should be uploaded by the time your read this. The update to the House history is being reviewed.

This week give a look at the Competition's Page. I'm always surprised when a member tells me they didn't know I had fiction or graphics comp running. It's important that we all participate in each other's activities like this. It's part of the learning process about one another.

By submitting an entry you're not just fishing for a Crescent, you're interacting. You're showing that other member that you have a creative side, you have talent, or a common interest. If you're not careful, you may just make a friend out of it too.
