Etah slumps down into a comfortable chair in front of his desk. Sitting back and closing his eyes he clears his head. Not in any concerted way, like he does when he prays of meditated, but in a general, casual way. The way a man gets stressed out and wants his head to feel a tad lighter. His shoulders slump just a little, relaxed as he will ever let himself become. Many people live uncomplicated lives with little worry. Those people are pawns. Rich and poor, strong and weak, they have no control over their destiny.

So the young Sakiyan began his tenure as Battle team leader, a position that will hopefully groom him for further positions and achievements within the Dark Jedi Brotherhood. Taking a deep breath and then composing himself the Jedi Hunter flips a switch, activating the recorder on the desk. On an important mission and not at home Etah possesses no holo-capabilities and thus can only send an audio message.

“Hello fellow members of the Qel-Droma battle team. I am sorry I am not with you right now, I am on an important mission for the clan summit. But I do wish to offer you my apologies. In a lot of ways I don’t believe I am as vigilant as a leader for you as I could have been and Sith’ari willing, will be in the future.” The young soldier took a short pause. “Rest assured my thoughts are with you and I will endeavor to improve my leadership. That is all, see you when I return”

Etah didn’t know if that was enough, but it would have to be enough for now. Switching the audio machine off and laying back, he closed his eyes and drifted off into a short and fitful sleep.

Introduction

Greetings everybody! I mentioned in my in-character intro I believe I have fallen short as battle team leader and I aim to fix that.

First of all I am calling for an activity check; I would like everyone in the battle team to email me at [Log in to view e-mail addresses].

But I want to know more than whether or not you are alive. Tell me how you’re doing, how active you are (include anything you might be doing at the moment), what your situation is (you’re a collage student working on finals, you don’t have a stable internet connect etc). This is also an alibi fire for leave of absences.

So we are totally clear, at any given time I would like to be made aware if you will be inactive for more than a few days. You don’t need to tell me if you are gonna be gone for two or three days, but four or more days I would like to know ahead of time. This is just so I know you haven’t disappeared on me >_<

Furthermore if your inactivity or relative inactivity is bound to continue into the foreseeable future (months and months or possibly, a year or more) you might want to contemplate joining the ranks of the rouge Dark Jedi.

Second I would like you to carbon copy me any and all contest entries (except of course trivia, but make me aware you are doing that in some other way, email, PM etc). This is very important because it gives me a general idea on your level of activity.

Third I would very much like a higher level of IRC (internet chat relay) presence. The Dark Brotherhood is above all else a community of like-minded individuals, idling on the server and getting into an intense conversation about what horrible fate Jar Jar Binks deserves, is just one of the perks :P In addition a battle teams level of activity is often judged by its IRC presence.

If your time online is limited, by all means go for more meaningful types of activity. But if you’re like me and you bum around online for hours at a time, stop by and say hi :) If we get more people active on IRC I want to create a battle team chat room.

As always I am available to you at any time (my email turn around is generally less than a day) and if I don’t know the answer to your question I will find someone else who does.

PS: There are a few of you (you’ll know who you are) who have already meet the requirements for promotion. Thank you for your patients thus far and rest assured we have not forgotten you. I will give you the details privately.

This comp is an open ended Star wars based fiction put out by the fiction tribune that primarily features your character. Its also a minimum of ten pages, due by Febuary 2007 and is awarding first level crescents ! Very prestigious indeed.
