RevengeX's eyes fluttered open as the sounds of a high-pitched beep entered his ears. 'What could that be?' he wondered as he rubbed his eyes and sat up straight in his office chair. Reaching for his datapad, he saw that he had received a new message. "View newest message," he mumbled. The datapad's screen flickered and then lines of text started to appear: "Meeting: 1 PM. Be there." The message was signed "Braecen." RevengeX glanced at the message and deleted it: 'Yea, yea, I'll be there.' Slumping back into his chair, the Archpriest checked his other messages which were mostly about medals, promotions, Shadow Academy courses and news from the DJB's News Holocron. He responded to a few and then doodled some on a memo about the training facility's toilets. The Quaestor drew the head of a dragon and sketched some fire coming out of its eyes and mouth. 'Eh... report's due already...' Crumpling up the memo and throwing it away, Revenge got a new sheet of paper and began to write feverishly after reviewing quite a few applications for the position of Aedile yet again...

INTRODUCTION:

This report announces who gets the position of Aedile, so check the "House News" for that (/me watches everyone scroll down to House News)! Also, I've seen quite a bit of activity out of you guys! Keep up the great work! And now, onto the rest of the report...

CLAN NEWS:

The Feud has FINALLY ended after five long, tedious weeks of battling it out against Caliburnus. The result is absolutely fantastic with both Houses tying at 106 points! This has never happened in any other DJB vendetta! We can no longer claim dominance over HC and they can't either (or at least, not yet...). HAD's Lucien Peregrinus has been appointed the Clan's Knight Class Envoy ( a.k.a. Clan Envoy)! Congrats, Lucien! Former HC AED, Sykes Rokir Jade has joined us again after a long absence due to computer troubles (or so I believe). Be sure to welcome him home. :) House Caliburnus has restarted their "Quest for Caliburnus" run-on. Unless said otherwise by HC's Summit, members of HAD are not to participate in that run-on.

HOUSE NEWS:

Applications for the position of Aedile of HAD are closed! No more applications will be accepted (especially since the AED has already been appointed)! The AED is... mentioned in the Conclusion of this report! ;) A House-wide AWOL check has started and the deadline for responding is December 29th. Check the email I sent out if you need help on who/when/why/how to respond. Arual Semaj has been appointed HAD's Assistant Envoy! Congrats, Arual! Adam Anderson has been promoted to Krath Epis! Congratulations! Many of you may be wondering where Drynwyn's Flame Tetrarch, Cuchulain Darkblade Palpatine, has been, and so far, he's notified me that he has to sort out some real life troubles first (check out "House Direction"). Don't fret, if he's not back by January 1st, a temporary BTL will be appointed (applications will not be opened). Information about this has been sent to the members of Drynwyn's Flame.

In other news, activity these past two weeks was great! Our most active member was... me! :D I know it's the holiday season so things are slowing down, but when the new year comes around, let's get the activity cranking! Fight in the ACC, submit entries to competitions, get on IRC and chat or idle, play games with other members (if you have those games), contact the House Summit with ideas for competitions, and let's show everyone that we know how to be active!

HOUSE DIRECTION:

(Today I'll be talking about two things.)

Priorities. What are they? Well, to start off, everyone has them even if they don't like them or need them. Priorities are the things that we believe are most important and we often do these things first before anything else. For example, in the DJB, I am a Quaestor and Eclectic Pedagogue and my primary duties are: making sure everyone's getting along, answering any questions, checking in on people and projects, reviewing people's work and entries for competitions, creating said competitions, grading exams, reviewing people's ideas, awarding promotions and medals, and making sure that everyone's having fun. In real life, my basic priorities are to sleep, breathe, eat, poop and make sure my heart's beating. Real life comes before the DJB, even if you don't want it to. Never should one write an ACC post instead of going out with friends to a movie, or play Jedi Academy instead of completing their homework. Remember, we're your friends (or at least, I think I am), but we won't take offense if you ditch us once in awhile.

Activity: yes, yes, I've talked about this a lot, but I don't think it can ever be stressed and emphasized too much! HAD's activity levels have gone very high compared to before and I congratulate and thank you all for that. I would like the level of activity to be maintained (or increased) throughout the new year and with all of the enthusiastic members we have, I think we can reach that goal. A whole string of competitions will be held in early 2007 and I want us to be ready for that; I'm going to try and get a few quick and easy competitions, along with a few longer ones, up and running so that we can prepare for that. Look out 2007, HAD's rolling down the highway! :D

-"What if" Monthly Competitions

Ever wondered what would have happened if Darth Vader blew up Dantooine and not Alderaan? What if Yoda was tall? These monthly competitions are supposed to spark one's imagination and creativity, challenging them to create works of fiction that follow an alteration in the Star Wars universe.

-House Descriptions Development

I wonder what the Citadel looks like... Wait, we have a Citadel? A training facility, too? But, I've never seen their descriptions! Exactly. There are not many descriptions concerning several facilities under the ownership of House Acclivis Draco, so a task force will be sent to observe each of these buildings and record their findings. A few artists may be sent as well.

-Fictional Backdrop

Ever seen CSP's Clan Prospectus ( http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/wiki/index.php?title=Clan_Scholae_Palatinae_Prospectus)? Wouldn't it be nice if HAD had something similar that detailed all the fictional aspects of the House? I think it would be. So get ready for some big fictional changes around here!

COMPETITIONS:

Got ideas for House competitions? Send them to the House Summit and we'll get to you about that ASAP. Note that you are not allowed to submit competitions for the House since you are not in charge of it (excluding the AED, RM and myself, although it's good if we discuss it amongst ourselves first).

I was thinking about having a House run-on since we had a lot of participation in our run-on for the Feud. I was also thinking of having a few long competitions like epic fictions and that sort. Ideas?

CONCLUSION:

I bet most of the readers of this report instantly scrolled down to the Conclusion to see who the next HAD AED is. ;) Before I say who the new AED is, I'd just like to say that this was by far one of the most difficult decisions anyone in this Clan could be faced with. There were so many great applicants and applications (there were a LOT), and several very qualified members vying for the position. But in the end, I could only choose one (even though I'd have liked to choose about three or four). And the new HAD AED is... drum roll Rhaub D'ar Aghasett Palpatine!!!!!11111111oneoneone!!!eleventyone1111!rawromgpwnd

Rhaub had the most specific examples of what he wanted to complete and is very qualified for this position (this is not nepotism if that's what your thinking). Rhaub's someone I can trust and I am honored to have him working with me. However, the other applicants will not go unnoticed. Now I know what some of you want to do, and be well aware that I'm going to take full advantage of that. >;) If any of the applicants want feedback on their application, please notify me and I will get to you ASAP.

The new AED should hint hint send out an email to the House or entire Clan telling people who they are and what plans they have for the House. Thank you to all the applicants! (AED: I'm going to contact you very soon about a whole bunch of stuff that needs negotiating between us.)

Here's a little challenge for all members who are still ACC Initiates: get qualified! You can do this by fighting a trainer or judge in the ACC's Proving Grounds hall. If you aren't yet an ACC Initiate, complete the ACC Initiates Course at the Shadow Academy, subscribe to the ACC in the administration menu and fill out a character sheet! (Really, I swear it's not too hard. :D)
