Greetings all,

Hope you are all doing well and made it through the downish month of January. Here is my delayed report, lots included so please read over most and skim the rest! =P

1) House Archanis - Opened & Going Strong

It's been a few weeks now, Archanis is still going and we are all functional! Haha, sounds encouraging right? It's all good right now though, we opened the House with only a dozen or so people and we've seen good participation out of them already, Ricco is doing well with the new members as Envoy, and the Zarcos are running events already. Good job to all of you and thanks for all the effort! The entire Clan is doing great with activity so let's keep it steady.

2) Clan Surveys

Former Consul Kir Taldrya Katarn ran a Clan-wide survey a few years ago to get feedback from the members on various levels. What good are they? It's your chance to rate your leaders, tell me what we are doing well, what we aren't, and how to improve. A week or so ago I found the olds in my archives and decided I'd like to run those again. I've changed some of the questions around, took some out, and add some in.

I'll send another email out soon with the questions and then you guys can send in your responses by logging into the Taldryan website and using the "Send Feedback to Consul" option. This will come to me via email, from a fake address from the server, and is completely anonymous...well, unless you throw your ID line up there. I don't want that either, keep it private. These will help the Clan Summit work towards bettering the Clan for everyone. I will work with the feedback I get to see that we can see action on these issues, so don't think I'll just let them pass by.

3) Website Updates & Additions

Navigation Menu - Better start out with the menu, it's the most important. Several new things have been added and others moved around. Some new things include the Clan Staff, Clan Forces, Clan Powers, Promotion Guide, and Guides & Documents.

Clan Forces - We are re-organizing our military setup of the Clan. If you check the page out you can see it in the works. There are still many sections to fill in and various things to update. This should be set in the next week or so, I'll address it more then.

Clan Powers - These are force powers specifically belonging to Clan Taldryan. The idea of Clan and Order powers have been floating around the Brotherhood for awhile and still are. They aren't really in use yet, but you can go ahead and use them in your own fictions and Run-ons when noted. You'll find all the powers on this page plus a method to find out where you stand in them. These will make their way into the ACC sooner or later, so they'll be moving up in importance down the road probably.

Timeline page - Many updates here, though most probably don't look at it. Most Clan positions have timelines displayed plus various Brotherhood positions. Interesting stuff to look at now and then right?

Codex Update - Many pages have been updated, besides Chapter II. That'll get down soon.

4) Taldryan Battle Royal & Bryar Bowl Status

I sent out some emails about these previously, but just to update you all on them here we are again. Both the Battle Royal and the Bryar Bowl are well underway. The first round of the ACC ladder is nearly done, the next round should start within days. The Bryar Bowl stated with an awesome 32 player signup list. The first round was completed and most of the second is as well, those that can move on and play their opponents for the next round are encouraged to do so. I hope you guys enjoy these, I know Bryars rock, and the ACC is a good place for our writers to develop their skills.

5) Upcoming Things

Promotion Guides & Kr'Tal System - Both have been under going changes and should be released mid-week for everyone to view. The Promotion Guidelines are being redone to fit with MAA Standards and to set a unified guideline for the Clan. The system development has been in the works for several months now, but over the last few weeks its really took shape. We have additional planets and moons, a system map, and many more detailed locations for all the bodies in the system. We'll probably still run some competition later for naming other places in the system, plus I want to start a land grant system of awarding our guys fictionally there. Look this all to come rolling out later this week.

Clan AWOL Check - There is an AWOL Check coming next weekend that'll run for two weeks. We need to clean the rosters up a bit before we run into the upcoming Rite of Supremacy and 7th Great Jedi War scheduled to start in mid-March.

Rite of Supremacy & 7th Great Jedi War - Yep, they are coming and should be big yet running very quickly. Both major Brotherhood-wide events should be over within a two months span so we'll need to be ready to pwn as soon as they start. Keep your eyes out for them. Be ready to fight for Taldryan!

1) Lord Firefox steps down from Justicar, Kir Appointed

Former Grand Master Firefox stepped down from the JST position this past month for various reasons, after serving more than 15 months we are left with the position open for a newcomer. After a week or more of applications and evaluations by the Dark Council, a replacement has been nominated and voted in. Our very own DA Kir Taldrya Katarn has been appointed the new Justicar! I wish him the best off luck with the position and hope it doesn't drive him crazy. He is looking to fill a few positions in the Chamber of Justice as well so if you are interested check those out and apply.

2) Covenant amended to add Statute of Limitations

Grand Master Jac announced the addition of a Statute of Limitations for the Dark Covenant this past week. It basically covers complaints and how they are handled in a certain period of time. It's a good thing to know so check that out below.

3) Outer Rim War 3 Begins

The Outer Rim Wars is a large inter-club competition that several clubs have been involved in for the last oh, six years or so I'd say. During the ORW2 the Brotherhood was still part of the Emperor's Hammer so this is our first time in many years to jump in this. The ORW3 actually started this weekend; I missed sending out an email about this sooner. It'll run for the next two months most likely and is operating all day Saturday and Sunday in #outerrim on IRC. There aren't any ICTE or SIT events while this competition goes on. For much more information about this, check out the websites below. I know several members already jumped into combat today, including me, so I hope more can do this in the coming weeks!

4) Other Happenings

You can keep up to date on most things just by checking the Brotherhood news page and the Clan news page often. Jumping on IRC regularly opens the door to much more communication with your Clan mates and the entire club. If you check out the DB news page you'll find stuff like a new Cluster of Fire graphic, information about some Star Wars EU stuff like naming a new Darth and a new novel by Timothy Zahn called Star Wars: Allegiance, various ICTE and SIT results, reports from the Herald, Headmaster, and Master at Arms, plus many other small things. 1) Tal Times Staff Assembled & Moving!

I asked for those interested to work with the future Tal Times editions to let me know and many did. We now have a good-sized staff setup, listed on the Clan Staff page, and working on the next issue. DJK Jaysen is heading up the staff so things should move along nicely. As always, if you are interested in contributing anything to future Tal Times Newsletter releases, you can shoot me an email. I'll also take those anonymous articles out there that some may want included but not have their names attached. There isn't a set date on the next issue yet, but we are aiming for one before the RoS starts so probably early March.

2) Return of the Cohors Praetoria Taldryae & Consul's Fist!

The Cohors return for the first time in at least six months. These are members that are picked to be the Consul's Honor Guard for a month long term. This is mainly a fictional award for those that have been very active during the past month. I'm going to try and offer more though, giving those picked chances to do some writing, drawing, or other various things to develop the fictional aspect of taking on the positions. The Consul's Fist is a bit more exclusive. This is someone picked from the ranks of the Cohors to serve a three month term, being my behind the sense asset, doing more secretive and deadly things. Since January just ended I'm going to go ahead and pick new members. The new guards are Priest Werdna Elbee and Dark Jedi Knight Hel-Pa Sklib, congrats to them! The Consul's Fist to serve the next three months is none other than Warrior Kraval Novir, standing out among many to be the third person given this title.

Wow, I let this go again way to long. I do apologize for that. It's not good for you and very bad for me. I'll work on this. Overall though I'm really happy with how we are doing. We have nearly half the Clan doing stuff, that being leading, participating in events, helping our with our DB Wiki sections, talking on IRC and the message boards, and taking part in our gaming activities. That's great to see coming out of January, usually a slow month to start the year with.

I really do appreciate all the activity, all the help from various members, and even Tarax nagging me to make sure this report comes out. It's all good. Let's all keep things moving, keep on getting out there enjoying the many aspects the Brotherhood offers, and just keep pwning together. Don't burnout though, save that for after the RoS and GJW. =P
