CNS Consul Report #34 - March 10th, 2007

Hi guys. We have a lot of stuff to go over in this report.

Oh yeah, and Vladek turned 15 this week. Heaven knows what you'll do on MY birthday (it's in October).

1. Major DB Competitions
   

Well, starting sometine next week will be the "Rite of Supremacy" which will run for two weeks, and immediately after that is the 7th Great Jedi War, which is supposed to last four weeks.

However, most of you who were around for the last Great Jedi War will recognize this as the time of the year when I freak out and lose my sanity (and my hair). Here's what's going to happen: There will be events, and points, and whichever clan has the most active and the most skilled members wins. Actually, whoever manages to be lucky and have the points fall in their favor wins. Hah. It's amazing how much of this stuff really comes down to luck. I guess that's how life is though. Last year this clan got a close 2nd. I mean, we were within 2% of the winning clan.

Does it really mean anything in the end? I mean, this club isn't just about competitions, it's about community. However, if there was ever a time for the members of this clan to step up and be active, the next six weeks is it.

You'll be getting more from me as these competitions actually begin.

1. Alliances
   

Someone checked out the Tarentum wiki pages and found out that we are no longer allied with them. Now, I don't really care about alliances myself, because we're dark jedi and we are by nature untrustworthy, right? But anyways, I'm letting you know that at this time, we should be neutral. We have no allies, and no enemies at the time. This could change, but not yet.

1. Few Positions Open
   

There are a few positions open, I think a couple of them are closing tonight. Yeah. There have been emails about this stuff, so apply if you want.

1. Dark Voice
   

If you've been checking the DB News page, you'll notice that they're looking for Dark Voice submissions. You are all welcome, and encouraged to send Dark Voice articles, because it seems like a nice way to get Dark Side Scrolls (DSS). So they're due April 10th. She sure gave us a lot of lead time, but meh.

But more importantly, I need a member of the clan to write the CNS News Blurb. Don't know what I'm talking about? Check out a Dark Voice from recent times, and look for the couple of paragraphs showing what's been happening in the clan. They're about two paragraphs, maybe 10 sentences total. Anyways, if you are interested in writing it, tell me. I'll pick one lucky member to do it (or like the last few times, pick the ONLY person who was interested). I want to give a different member a chance to write the thing, so if you've already written one, oh well.

1. Promotions
   

There were 4 promotions this week, however none of them were big enough to be mentioned in this report.

1. Gaming
   

In Friday Gaming, Tyren got 1 CF.

In the ORW last weekend, Vladek got 41 CFs, Horus got 5 CFs, Raven got 2 CFs, and Ashia Kagan got 2 CFs. Vladek also placed third for the DB in last week's ORW, and earned himself an Amethyst Crescent.

1. Conclusion
   

I find that in this job, there are weeks that are quiet for me, and I do very little except "maintenance." You know, responding to emails. However, we are currently working on a push to get people to complete their promotion requirements before the Great Jedi War starts, and I'm furiously writing emails. Oh, May will be a wonderful month for me. No major competitions to worry about. Never taken a vacation in this job. Well, never a total vacation, the kind where you just not do anything DB related. I've taken IRC vacations though, where I won't go on IRC for a week. Now I'm just rambling. Hah.
