PCON REPORT: ARCONA WEEKLY

Good day, Arconans and Arconettes! (Is that even a word? If not, bite me. I like it anyway :P) It is time for the first PCON report! From now on, you can expect me to give these tidbits, full of (not-so) nice and (sometimes) useful information on a weekly basis. It is here where you will find information about running competitions, the state of the Clan, stuff that’s going on and stuff that should be going on. This is also the place where I spout my vicious diatribe and more :P

Overall:

Well…the RoS is over. Bad news is we were racked by some LoA’s, so we only got fourth place. Mind you, still not bad but not as good as we are capable of being. I’ll just assume that is because we were resting and preparing to own everyone in the GJW ;)

The good news is that now that this thing is over, we can go and do some serious stuff instead. No, I’m not talking about porn and/or your significant others, but about the various competitions we will be running shortly, along with the ICTE and all that jazz.

The week’s been pretty quiet so far, with winding down from the RoS still in progress and some other things going on behind the scenes.

*The News: *

-I got PCON! Go me! :P

-A certain slacker of an AED was recently removed from his position as Galeres Aedile. Called Timeros by some, this vile individual must now be replaced as an Aedile. Applications are to be sent to Malidir, Strategos, and myself. Applications must contain the following:

• Any relevant experience in the leadership field.

• The tasks you see yourself doing as an Aedile.

• A good email turnaround (preferably 24 hours or less) and a strong IRC presence.

• What makes you a good Aedile.

• The ‘vision’ you have for Galeres, in what you think should help Galeres properly prepare itself for future endeavors and competitions.

• Any and all ideas on what to do, as well as the division of tasks you would like between Malidir and yourself.

• Work on ideas for Arcona by a few talented coders and yours truly is progressing. The last week has seen several good ideas thrown out, mainly in regards to the website. As always, if you have any good ideas tell me about them on IRC or send me an email. Any and all ideas that can make us a better Clan will be seriously considered.

• One of our newer members, Juda, has offered to all of us to make pictures of our characters. Gooo Juda! If you are interested in watching his awesome work, go here:

Honestly, these things rock. They would be a great addition to any Wiki page, and if you’ve already got one, they’re still awesome.

Try to give as many details as possible on your character, like build, eye and hair color, hair length and style, clothes, stance, and obviously whatever your character ought to be doing at the time.

Then wait for the art to show ;)

Running competitions:

W00t! The week has seen several great competitions started by Arconans. All of these will really be a booster to activity and hopefully, to your medal records ;)

Arcona runon: Desperate Times:

As the name says, it’s a runon, run by our very own Kieran. Those slimy Hutt buggers have seen fit to screw us over and try to take Dajorra. Will they succeed? Well…that’s up to you, but I say: over our dead bodies! This is Dajoraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

(If you didn’t catch the reference: don’t worry. I’m not sure if I do).

Who pwnd the PCON?

Another event for the writers out there…the new PCON has become the victim of an assassination attempt. Who performed that vile act, and why? Will it happen again, perhaps with fatal results? Is there more going on here? Here’s your chance to write a classic whodunit within the Star Wars universe…read the comp details, and good sleuthing! ;)

Another good thing about this is that Dessie, the competition runner, will be gentle enough to send a critique of your writing, so you’ll not only have a chance to participate and win, but also to improve your writing. A great comp for the newbies among us.

PWN the PCON!

A counterpart to the previous comp, where you instead get your try at assassinating me. This is an ACC competition…except you don’t even need to qualify for it to participate! All you need is a working character sheet and the willingness to try me on…don’t worry, I can be gentle ;). Again, critiques will be offered, so the competition is aimed specifically at newbies. But anyone not entirely certain about their skills can participate.

Due to administrative thingies, challenges can’t be issue through the ACC system and will instead have to be opened manually. If you want to have a go at me, simply send me an email stating your weapons and the Venue you wish to fight in. If you don’t want to choose the Venue that’s fine as well…I’ll pick one for us.

This event will go on for two months, with awards given every two weeks, so there’s plenty of time to challenge me ;)

_ New Logo - Once Again_

As the title says…after advice from many people, our Consul has decided the current logo is outdated. This is a nice and ambitious competition for all you upcoming graphics artists out there to try your hand at gaining instant recognition. If nothing else, your efforts and talents will be duly noted.

Elevations and Awards of Note:

Of our SC-and higher Medals and Equite+ promo’s, we have this time gotten:

Our very own Sashar recently gained a promotion to Obelisk Exarch, for the many hours of time spent as both a master and a participant in the various competitions. Recently KCE, he has already done a great deal to help, such as starting to develop a Master’s Guide of sorts for any prospective Masters out there. Yay for him :D

An oldie, but never properly noted: Orv Dessrx has gained a Steel Cross for creating a truly fantastic Feud site.

Many of the spoils of war for the RoS are still pending…rest assured however that the Clan Summit is discussing this matter right now, and that many will soon gain something in their inbox.

Conclusion:

That was it…fairly hefty for a first report I suppose, but that’s the punishment of my procrastinating on writing it. Hopefully, you’ll see more of these sooner (and equally hopefully, they’ll be shorter :P).
