Introduction

So this is my SPWR, or Shadow’s Possibly Weekly Report. It’s only possibly weekly because I don’t much like reports… they’re boring and pretty much anyone paying attention should already know this stuff. But, every so often I will thrust one of these up to express my feelings on certain Clan and DB events.

This would technically be my first Proconsul report since I re-got the job… if you don’t include the daily update emails during the Rite of Supremacy, which I do… but whatever. Now this isn’t going to be a “regular” report, as Duga will cover all that stuff. Instead I’ll just be talking about what has been going on, what will be going on and what’s going on now.

Recent Changes

Since the RoS there have been a few changes in Taldryan. Mainly, Erinyes was replaced by Sklib as Quaestor of Dinaari. Sklib has shown that he has what it takes to lead the House so all the best to him. Dinaari also has a new Aedile, JH Vladet Xavier. Vlad joined just after the start of the RoS (it was okayed by everyone) and did a great job participating in fiction and MP, and even taking a GN for team gaming. Together with Sklib, Dinaari should be well served. Finally, Illian stepped down from Dinaari envoy to be replaced by none other than Big Papa Jac. Some lucky newbs will get to be welcomed into the DB by a two-time Grand Master.

Competitions

We got a few fun and interesting competitions running at the House and Clan level… maybe even a BT comp or two. If you’re bored and need something to do, or just love getting medals check out some of these competitions:

Taldryan Topic: Pwnage – This monthly topic’s theme is pwnage of the RoS, or just pwnage in general. All you have to do is make an hilarious comic (or comicstrip) about pwnage and send it in to Duga. Third level crescents are being awarded AND the best entries will be posted on the Tal Times! You have until the 22nd of April to get your submission in. Kashi Mer Talisman Run On – Xerxes is running a clan-wide RO starting on the 16th. You’ll find it on the main Taldryan Forum with the plotline and rules. Third level crescents will be rewarded to the top posters – Good chance to practice up on your RO skills before the Great Jedi War! (http://www.taldryan.net/competitions.php#current6)

SHAFT CTF Edition – Woo SHAFT! Woo CTF! During the month of April any CTF played on any platform can be submitted to Duga (with a screenshot). CFs will be awarded for any non-DB events (aka just for fun matches) as well as crescents for the top 3 placers. Best of all, the winner will receive a special Warbanner and title. Dinaari Caption Comp – Rigar will be running tri-weekly caption competitions from the Dinaari Forum. The current one ends on the 30th of April. Bryar Bowl II: Bryar Bowlier – Sweet Wang it’s back!! Expect an announcement on this sometime on the weekend.

Should have more Clan/House competitions starting up in the near future just working on the details.

And finally, expect another Invitational Elimination Ladder in the future – Duga set up the stuff but past it onto Korras for running. We’ll have to kick some ass in that when the time comes.

Rite of Supremacy Recap

So it’s been a week since the ending of the Rite of Supremacy and we have the final results! Taldryan once again remains the dominant Clan in the Brotherhood. Good work to everyone who participated in our effort to retain the title of First Clan of the Brotherhood. It was a short, but hard-fought battle every day and we pulled it off beautifully. Taldryan left the RoS with 420 points (91% of the max points), which was 90 points ahead of the second place Clan who doesn’t need to be mentioned here. Though I will say this Clan thinks that coming in a distance second to us has made them godlike and ensures their victory in the forthcoming Great Jedi War. Wow… I love that logic. Anyways – We all did a great job and Duga will be working on rewarding everyone for their efforts so expect that in the next week or so as there is a lot to reward.

I need to make a special mention of Jac. Fresh from his two-year term as Grand Master, Jac rejoined Taldryan in time to participate in the RoS and did everything he possibly could. He headed our Debate team, which came in first place, he formatted and pimped out our Clan Battle Plans, which also came in first, and he was also a gaming machine, fiction writer extraordinaire, and a valiant ACC combatant. He even took first place out of the entire RoS. Without Jac we would definitely not have done as well as we did.

Finally, RoS Rewards. You all got that email I sent earlier? Good. RoS Awards will be out as soon as we get them done. Hold onto your Wang until then.

The Great Jedi War

Now I know the Great Jedi War has been postponed to mid- or late- June, but it’s never too early to start getting pumped. We dominated this RoS, but our last couple of Great Jedi Wars were pretty tight. Last year we just narrowly beat Naga Sadow… it came down to one final event (of course this GJW was run by an incompetent person that will remain anonymous… but he likes RP’ing, changing his name, and is Kaiann).

The point is we need to stay sharp. We had decent activity in MP and Fiction, but we could do better in both. ACC is usually one of our weaker points, but we managed to take second place. This happened after we were in 5th place with only a day left to go in challenges. So we only half-attempted that event and still managed to kick some ass. So if you don’t have your Character Sheet done and have yet to qualify get on that for the GJW. It’ll help if we have some more people playing.

Keep in mind that while we retained our title of First Clan for this Rite of Supremacy, the Great Jedi War is all about adding to the Clan’s fleet. New ships = sexy. We already kick everyone’s ass military-wise, but adding to the pile is so much fun. Our BPs were hilarious because it was our uber fleet against some dinky transports… so make sure you go the extra mile for the Great Jedi War.

A quick FYI – Halc informs me that the MP points system/rule system will be changed for the Great Jedi War. So if you didn’t like the whole placement = points crap be happy as it won’t be back. Hopefully we’ll discover more about how they’re going to reward stuff early enough to suggest changes.
