1. Introduction
   

I'm a big fan of Joel Osteen. He does these sermons on the family channel at midnight between Sunday and Monday. Well, I think he's great. I'm not even religious. So, last Sunday night, I was watching his show, and he was talking about how people should set good examples. This is interesting because through my SA challenge, I took the Leadership Fundamentals course in the Shadow Academy, and one of the tenets they talk about is setting an example.

So, let's talk about something that I feel is lacking DB-wide. This is something that most eight year olds figure out, but I suppose that when we're on the Internet, we forget about it. It's the idea that our actions actually have impacts on people. Think about that. Hell, say it aloud. "What I do or say to people can affect them." Do you guys think about the consequences of your actions? Some of you don't. This behavior isn't acceptable in the real world, and shouldn't be acceptable in the DB.

When people are acting poorly, it reflects on the people around them. Look at what happened during the Rite of Supremacy. I was somehwat pissy about the whole thing, and so were other summit members, and I think it affected the rest of you guys. If I'm having a bad day, then the people around me will feel the wrath, and they'll have a bad day. when I have a good day, when I'm bubbly and cheery, then hopefully the people around me are uplifted.

I think some of us are growing ignorant of the fact that the Dark Jedi Brotherhood is a BROTHERHOOD. If you are only in this for your own personal achievement, then you need to look into your soul, because winning fake medals in the DB will not fill that gap.

In my leadership fundamentals exam, I wrote that the holy grail for any leader in the DB is to inspire people to the point where they act in an effort to better the clan, not because of their own desire for personal achievement. It's certainly true. One thing that the leadership exam said, and that I partially agree with, is that leadership is about character and two other things. But, I think character is VITAL to leadership in the DB. Anybody can be a leader in the DB as long as they show character.

In a world full of phonies, we need more people with character, otherwise we're all doomed.

1. Manesh's SA Challenge
   

This week I took the Leadership Fundamentals exam, because it was the winner of the vote last week. However, it might be a while before it's graded since the grader of that exam happens to be the Grand Master, and Sarin's a new father, and hasn't been around because of that. I guess it's a coincidence that I had to take an exam this particular week.

I think the Leadership Fundamentals exam is wonderful, and I encourage anyone who hasn't taken it to take it. Not just take it, but try to UNDERSTAND it. People like me and Sarin aren't just pontificating on here. We're trying to drive certain ideas in your head that are vital to the functioning of any organization, including the DB.

Unfortunately, I don't think we've gotten any submissions for Round Two of the "Attacking the Clones" competition. We're working on grading the Roune One submissions. I even created one of my neato spreadsheets.

We would love you to participate in the events. The Run-On seems to be doing great, but participate in the fiction and graphics events for round two.

1. Rite of Supremacy Survey Results
   

Thanks to everybody who participated in the Rite of Supremacy survey. Eleven of you provided very good and thoughtful responses, and as a token of our appreciate, you were awarded with Quartz Crescents. I have disclosed the results to the Conclave mailing list, and I intend on sending it to Sarin and Halc, and copies to anyone who participated.

I'm a little disappointed a few more people didn't participate, because this was a very direct and somewhat easy way to get a Crescent, and to have your voice heard by important people.

I actually decided to play a few matches this week. I somehow managed to get 5 CFs this week. Wasn't expecting that many.

Oh, and Mifune played sometime this week and got 3 CFs.
